LGBT Foundation launches heartfelt 'Hope Starts Here' campaign featuring Zelah Glasson with JCDecaux Community Channel
The public visibility of everyday LGBTQ+ stories in media and public spaces can create a positive counter-narrative that counters discrimination and strengthens a sense of social belonging.
In a time when LGBTQ+ communities continue to face hostility, discrimination, and uncertainty, 'Hope Starts Here' offers a positive counter-narrative rooted in visibility, belonging, and shared human experiences.
The LGBT Foundation is launching a nationwide out-of-home campaign called 'Hope Starts Here' in partnership with the JCDecaux Community Channel. It will be broadcast in August on over 250 digital screens in nearly 100 British cities and towns. The aim is to bring the celebration of LGBTQ+ life, relationships, and community closer to a broad audience. The campaign positions itself as a positive counter-narrative to existing hostilities and discriminations. It emphasises that hope can be found in everyday moments, places, and human connections. Well-known personalities such as Zelah Glasson and Dita Garbo share their stories. The text highlights the role of media in promoting visibility, understanding, and belonging in society. A collaboration between the charity sector, media, and creative industries is presented as an example of social impact.
