The text describes a concrete social aid action by the Orthodox clergy in Ethiopia, who in the school year 2019 E.C. distributed school materials to needy students in 14 mission dioceses. In the Sefota Center in seven woredas as well as in refugee shelters, a total of 443 students were provided with school materials. The costs amounted to more than 363,000 Birr, funded by the faithful of the Most Holy Mercy Cathedral in East, Maryland, USA, as well as other benefactors at home and abroad. Affected students and parents, including the mother Zenebu Kiros, reported that they previously had no textbooks and were considering withdrawing their children from school. Government representatives pointed out that in the Waggene district more than 80,000 students still need support. The text concludes with the mention of bank accounts through which further donations for social support and reconstruction can be made.

The Church, through its professional, social, and economic services, is implementing numerous social projects to assist those affected by social crises. It has stated that it continues to provide educational material support to national and church-affiliated students who are struggling to continue their education due to their suffering from drought, displacement, and other man-made and natural social crises. Accordingly, for the 2019 E.C. school year, this support is being provided to students in 14 dioceses throughout the country. Under the Sefo Zone, in seven woredas, in displaced schools, and alongside the model school, to students studying the scientific curriculum, a total of 443 students have been provided with educational material support. The students of Zema who have benefited from the support stated that they had not been able to attend school up to today due to their inability to obtain textbooks in the past, and that their hope has been restored through the Church's coordination in providing educational material support. Another beneficiary, Mrs. Zenabu Kiros, mother of eight children, expressed her joy at the Church's support during the time when they were struggling to educate their children. She recalled that they had considered stopping the education of their two children due to their inability to afford educational materials, and offered their gratitude for the support that was provided. The Chairman of the Church's Sefo Zone, Mr. Fenta Alemsged, who mentioned that the cost of this support is more than 363,000 (three hundred and sixty-three thousand) Birr, stated that the support was obtained from the faithful of the Holy Covenant of Mercy Church in the Eastern Province of Maryland, in the United States, and from other benevolent individuals both within the country and abroad, and offered their gratitude on behalf of the students and the Church. Although more than 200,000 students are registered in the zone under the Wag Hemra National Administration, government officials present during the support handover stated that more than 80,000 students, including those displaced due to current security issues, still need educational material support. Deacon Sium Gebre Kidan, the representative of the zone's education office present at the support handover, stated that the Church is our permanent partner by informing the world about the problems of Wag Hemra and providing such support. Also present were the work officers of the Wag Hemra diocese, the executive members of the Church's Sefo Zone, and government representatives.
