The climate crisis can be addressed theologically and socially through communal singing in congregations and activist groups, and a collected songbook can make this process accessible to many people.

Songs with theological and spiritual content should be a focus of the songbook, but interreligious and cross-worldview songs may also be submitted.

The text is a public call for a planned climate songbook. Songs are sought that engage with the climate crisis and can be sung in congregations, activist groups, or in personal use. The focus is on songs with theological and spiritual content, but interreligious and cross-worldview songs are also welcome. Specific categories are named, such as songs for worship services or demonstrations, songs of thanksgiving and petition, lament and hope songs, as well as songs on repentance, deceleration, and critique of growth. Submissions are to be made by 30 November 2026 by email, including details on title, author(s), source, and audio example. The project is carried out by the Protestant Zukunftswerkstatt midi in cooperation with several organisations. It is emphasised that submission does not guarantee inclusion and that song rights will be cleared by the publisher where applicable.
