Absolute love for God is the source of the inner strength and fearlessness of the Promised Messiah and serves as a model for the community to overcome worldly fears and attachments.
The mosques are my home, the righteous are my brothers, the remembrance of Allah is my wealth, and His creation is my family.
The text summarizes a Friday address that presents the deep love of the Promised Messiah for Allah as the core of his life. This love is described as a reflection of the love of the Prophet Muhammad and as the source of his fearlessness in the face of opponents and suffering. Concrete historical examples, such as the trial in Gurdaspur and the encounter with Captain LeMarchand, illustrate his unshakable trust in God's protection. The text emphasizes that the Messiah defined his existence exclusively through closeness to God and maintained worldly ties only for the sake of God. Even in the face of illness and the death of his son, he showed a total submission that went beyond personal losses. The address calls the community to imitate this example, to recognize God as the true healer and protector, and not to fall into worldly grief. Finally, prayers are offered for the new year, for prisoners in Pakistan, and for world peace.

In the Friday sermon of January 2, 2025, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) spoke about the extraordinary love that the Promised Messiah (as) bore for God.
His Holiness (aba) explained that the Promised Messiah’s (as) love for Allah was a perfect reflection of the love of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). The Promised Messiah (as) consistently emphasized that he had received all divine graces and understanding of God only because he perfectly followed his Master, the Holy Prophet (saw). He described his inner attraction to God as a natural, irresistible force that was solely a gift of Allah’s grace.
The Promised Messiah (as) defined his existence through closeness to God. A central feature of his life was: “The mosques are my home, the righteous are my brothers, the remembrance of Allah is my wealth, and His creation is my family.” He taught that every relationship he had—whether with his wife, children, or friends—existed solely for the sake of Allah.
A significant part of the sermon addressed the fearless attitude of the Promised Messiah (as) towards his opponents, which he possessed because he fully trusted that God would never leave him alone due to his love.
The Trial in Gurdaspur: When a biased magistrate and opponent of the community (Aryas) planned to catch him as “prey” and imprison him, he responded with full trust in God. He stated: “I am not prey, I am a lion, and specifically the lion of Allah.” He emphasized that he was ready to wear chains for the faith, but that God would protect him from humiliation.
Encounter with Captain LeMarchand: When the latter appeared with a police escort based on baseless claims, the Promised Messiah (as) remained calm and smiled. He compared possible handcuffs on the path of God to pieces of jewelry (bangles), but was certain that Allah does not let His messengers perish in disgrace.
The Promised Messiah (as) explained that his love for Allah is so deeply rooted that even if God were to inform him that He had abandoned him, his love and service to the faith would not diminish. Further examples illustrate this priority:
God as the true Healer: He refused treatment by a doctor who claimed to be able to heal him certainly, as this claim bordered on divinity. He emphasized that only Allah is the true Healer.
No praise for blasphemers: He did not tolerate it when an atheist or enemy of God was praised in his house.
Reaction to personal losses: Upon the death of his son Mirza Mubarak Ahmad Sahib, he displayed extraordinary submission. He said that even if a thousand sons died, his joy lay solely in the satisfaction of God and the fulfillment of His word.
In a letter to Munshi Ahmad Jan (ra), the Promised Messiah (as) formulated a profound prayer that the latter should recite during the Hajj at the Kaaba. In it, he asked Allah: For the forgiveness of his errors; that his life and death occur exclusively on the path of God; that Allah make Islam victorious over the opponents through his hand; that he live and die in the love of God.
His Holiness (aba) quoted the Promised Messiah (as) with the words that God is the true paradise and the highest joy. He admonished people not to fall into sorrow over worldly matters. Whoever has God as a protector needs to have no fear of the attacks of enemies.
Since the sermon took place on the New Year, His Holiness congratulated the new year and called for prayers: May the year bring countless blessings and thwart the plans of the opponents. Special remembrance was given to the imprisoned Ahmadis in Pakistan, specifically Mubarak Sani Sahib, who are unjustly in custody for the sake of their faith. Prayers for world peace and the liberation of all the oppressed.
To conclude the address, His Holiness remembered three recently deceased members of the community: Mrs. Rehana Basima, Mrs. Iffat Haleem, and Mr. Abdul Aleem al-Barbari from Egypt.
