Love is the central bond between human being and God, between human being and Prophet, and between people among themselves; whoever loves in this world and follows that person's path will be in the Hereafter with the one they have loved.
And let us also not forget that the person in the Hereafter will be with the one to whom they gave their love in this world and whose path they followed.
The sermon takes the beautiful name of Allah "El-Wedud" (the Loving One) as its starting point and presents love as the core of life and as a sign of the existence, unity, and power of Allah. It calls on the believers to preserve the love entrusted to them by Allah and not to destroy it through hatred, resentment, and enmity. Love for Allah should occupy the most valuable place in the heart, followed by love for the Prophet Muhammad, for parents, spouses, children, relatives, teachers, and elders. The text links love with practical action: following commandments, making the Sunnah one's path in life, loving one another for the sake of Allah, and expressing love openly. The blessed month of Rajab is mentioned as an opportunity to purify the hearts and to renew brotherhood. It is prayed that Allah make the believers faithful lovers and bring them into Ramadan in good health.

Man is with whom he loves
(26.12.2025)
One of the beautiful names of Allah is El-Wedud. El-Wedud means: The One who loves very much and who is most worthy of being loved. Allah is El-Wedud; He is the One who created love and whose infinite mercy and affection encompass the entire creation.
Beloved believers!
This very love is one of the clearest signs of the existence of Allah, His oneness, and His boundless power.¹ Love is not merely a feeling; it is the core of life, the primordial substance of the universe. Every person who carries sincere love in his heart carries in his soul a beauty that Allah has bestowed upon him.
Beloved brothers and sisters!
Let us preserve the love that Allah has entrusted to us and not destroy it through hatred, resentment, and enmity. To benefit from the beautiful name of Allah, “El-Wedud,” means to carry love into every moment of our lives. Let us dedicate the most significant and most valuable place in our hearts to Allah, the One who is most worthy of love.² Let us place Allah, whose love and mercy encompass all things, at the center of our inner world. Let us come to know Allah better through His names, His attributes, and His unique works. The more we come to know Him, the more we will love Him; and the more we love Him, the more strongly we will feel connected to Him. Love requires effort, love requires sacrifice, love requires proof. Therefore, we should strive to be servants with whom Allah is pleased and whom He loves, not only with words but with our essence and our deeds.
Dear brothers and sisters!
After the love for Allah, our noblest place in the heart should belong to our guide and role model, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Let us not forget that love for the Messenger of Allah is a necessary consequence of love for Allah.³ And let us also not forget that in the Hereafter, man will be with the one to whom he gave his love in this world and whose path he followed.⁴
Brothers and sisters!
Unfortunately, we could not see our Prophet in this world; we could not sit in his blessed presence and not stand behind him in the ritual prayer. However, if we wish to be with him in the Hereafter, to gather under the “Banner of Praise,” and to attain his neighborhood in Paradise, then let us follow the commands of Allah that he conveyed and make his Sunnah our path in life.
After the love for Allah and His Messenger, we should honor our parents, through whom Allah has granted us life, with respect and high esteem. Let us embrace our spouses, the source of peace in our homes, with mercy, and our children, who fill our hearts, with love. Let us love our relatives, our teachers, and scholars who have taught us something, as well as all those elders who have accompanied us in our lives, with gratitude and loyalty. Let us visit our living loved ones and ask them for their prayers of blessing; and let us remember our deceased loved ones with mercy.
Beloved believers!
Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You will not enter Paradise until you believe. And you will not (truly) believe until you love one another.”5 Let us consider the blessed month of Rajab as an opportunity to purify our hearts and renew our brotherhood. Let us not be stingy with love; let us generously distribute the pure affection in our hearts – like a donation – to our fellow human beings. Let us love one another for the sake of Allah,6 as the Prophet recommended, and let us strengthen our bond through mutual giving.7 Let us not keep our love only deep within our hearts, but let it also come over our lips – like a seed of good.8 If we love a brother or sister, a friend or a companion, then we should never hesitate to express this openly.
May Allah make us servants who love, are loved, and remain faithful to their love. May He make the month of Rajab blessed for us and allow us to reach the month of Ramadan in good health and inner peace.
