Justice in Islam is a divine attribute that humans must emulate, and it only becomes truly just when it is directed against one's own interests and those of one's family; Imam Ali embodies this ideal.
Justice only becomes the right kind of justice when it goes against you yourself. When you are at a point, in a case, where you might lose, but you still act justly.
The text is a Ramadan sermon that presents Imam Ali as a symbol of justice (Adal). First, an anecdote is told in which Imam Ali holds a glowing iron to his hand to show that he fears the divine fire more than earthly heat when he acts unjustly. The Quranic verse from Surah An-Nisa (4:135) is cited and interpreted: justice must be upheld even when it goes against one's own person, parents, or relatives. The Shia doctrine of divine justice (Adala) is explained as one of the five roots of the religion and is argumentatively supported with the omnipotence question (a stone that God cannot lift). As a contemporary reference, inheritance disputes within families are mentioned, which destroy relationships. The sermon calls for taking Imam Ali as a model of justice and not following one's own desires (Hawa). The story of Akil ibn Abi Talib, who asks Imam Ali for help in financial distress, is cited as an example that justice means giving no one more than others.

Then Amir Minin took a glowing piece of iron and held it close to his hand. A hot piece of iron. May Allah be pleased with Akil a thousand times. He recoils from the heat. He says, yes, what are you doing there? He said, you are afraid of a fire that a man has heated. I heated it, I, Ali. And I should not be afraid of the fire of Allah when I take the money of people unjustly. My dear brothers, this is not about Akil wanting to buy a Panamera. This is not about wanting to buy a Willen. The man was poor. The man was poor. He had to feed his children. But even if you are Akil, I cannot give you money that I would not give to others. That is justice. Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan. My Lord, expand for me my chest and ease for me my affair and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, and upon the pure and noble Household, and upon his noble and righteous companions, and may Allah curse all their enemies. Send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad. O Allah, my dear brothers and my dear sisters, inshallah you are all doing wonderfully. I pray to Allah that your deeds in Laylat al-Qadr inshallah have been accepted, that you have spent the night, I earnestly ask, my dear brothers and sisters, that Allah accept the Nights of Qadr for you, give you the best in the Dunya, and that you inshallah have caught the night, for we never know that. Have we prayed enough on the right night? O Allah, inshallah you have spent the nights with Du'a and your Du'as have been accepted inshallah. My dear brothers and sisters, today we would like to re-explore the concept of Salam from a new perspective, namely the perspective of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as a symbol of justice. Allah says, inshallah. Allah says: "O you who believe, be maintainers of justice, being witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or your parents or your relatives." That is, uphold justice even if it is against you. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is closer to both. So let go of your desires, do not follow your desires that lead you to no longer spread Adal, so to speak, no longer spread justice. Very decisive points. And if you, however, distort the truth or turn away from the truth, then Allah is well aware of what you do. Many lessons, many points. Let us briefly deal with them once. Like an operation, we take the individual pieces apart. Allah first calls us to justice. Justice, my dear brothers and sisters, is in Islam one of the things that is very, very emphasized. And this has its origin in the Aqida of Islam, in the belief concepts of Islam. Why? We have five roots of the religion, as we always discuss. And so the Oneness of Allah, the declaration of the Oneness of Allah, the Justice of Allah, the Prophethood, the Imamat, that is the divine guidance, and of course the Resurrection. In Shia Islam, the point of Adala and the point of the Imams are two points that are not so extremely emphasized in the other schools of jurisprudence as they are with us. All schools of jurisprudence in Islam believe that Allah is just. There is no school of jurisprudence that says Allah is not just. But this extreme emphasis on the fact that Allah is just, we see in Shia Islam. And this discussion the early scholars also had with each other. The Shia early scholars and the early scholars of the other schools of jurisprudence. For example, it was about the fact that other schools of jurisprudence said, if Allah would will, He could put someone into the Hellfire unjustly, because Allah is omnipotent. The Shia say, this statement in itself is illogical. Why? Allah will not do a thing that is against His own essence, that is against Himself. Not even theoretically can this question be posed. That is exactly the same illogical question
It is as if someone says, can Allah create a stone that He cannot lift? Can Allah create a stone so heavy that He cannot lift it? Can Allah therefore do something that is never possible for Himself? The question itself is illogical. The question is in itself illogical, because omnipotence cannot be combined with non-omnipotence. As soon as non-omnipotence comes into it, there is no omnipotence anymore. They say: "Yes, but then your God is not omnipotent if He cannot create a stone that He cannot lift." Then we say no, because He is omnipotent, the question is illogical, because there is no thing that is defined in omnipotence that takes away His omnipotence. The question itself is illogical and on every scientific basis we must pose a clean question so that we can produce clean answers. In Shia Islam it is not only about omnipotence, because that is extremely important in every school of Islamic jurisprudence, but the justice of Allah, that Allah is just and in His justice very precise. We find, for example, several verses where Allah says, Allah will not add to anyone injustice of even the measure of a mustard seed. Never. Allah is just. And this verse now calls people to justice. He says: "I am just and I will never be unjust, but I know you people." You may tend to follow your Hawa, to follow your desires. That is why I call you to be just. Okay? Just for whom? Of course primarily for Allah, so that you will be witnesses over this Ummah. Witnesses of justice. And when does justice truly begin? The verse shows us that it is not when you say a few nice words and brother, let us do good and let us do justice. No, justice only becomes the right justice when it goes against yourself. When you are at a point, in a case, where you will perhaps lose now, but you are still just. In Surat Nur, to my knowledge, there is exactly what is described, what I am just telling you. In Surat Nur there is a passage where Allah describes: "O Prophet, there is a group of people who do not come to you to ask for a ruling. They believe in you. They believe in you, O Prophet. 100% they say, but when it comes to the Prophet now speaking right between you, you no longer go to the Prophet. That means, you believe in the Prophet, who is actually also a judge between the people. But when it comes to the Prophet judging over you, you do not go to the Prophet for him to judge over you. You do not do that, except in one case. When you know that the court ruling will go well for you, then you go to the Prophet. For example, some brother has a dispute with another brother. He knows with camera footage that the other brother has damaged his car tire. Back then there were no cars. We take the case now simply because cars are current. Insha'Allah. He has footage, a very clear story. The man has stolen and there are even a few other witnesses who saw it with their own eyes. He now goes to the Prophet. Why? Because he knows he will win in this process. But if it were the other way around, he does not go to the Prophet. That means, he does not believe in the Prophet at all. Because truly submitting to the Prophet means that one submits 100% to this justice that Allah has established for you, whether it is for you or against you, whether it is for your parents or against your parents, yes or your relatives. Justice does not mean, I look to get the maximum out for my people. You are in a legal dispute. What can I get out for my family? What does that mean? What can I get out for Allah? You must say, not what can I get out for my family
to get out? Subhanallah. The verse is still merciful. The verse is very merciful. It says against you and against your families. But what about nowadays? The families against each other cancel out the right of the families against each other. Inheritance disputes. Families no longer speak with each other. Brother, sister, they don't talk. Why? Because of a piece of inheritance in some country 3000, 4000 km away in a house in which they will never sit. Never. Either they get the cancer disease before that and die in a German hospital or they still go there and for a few months they live there then. For these few months they cut off family relationships and brothers and sisters don't talk to each other anymore. That means, we don't even get the maximum out for our family when it comes to it, even against our families, so that we can somehow push through our unjust behavior. But what have we learned from the verse? Justice is important. And what is the enemy of justice? Our desires. Our desires want us not to act justly. Our desires want us not even to activate a selfless mode, but always to get the maximum out for ourselves, even if that means violating the rights of others. But from whom can I now learn justice? Who can symbolize justice so that they can say, okay, this man or this woman is a symbol for justice. If I position myself in this direction, I know I will definitely not be on the wrong side. And that is no one other than Imam Ali. We are, we are, we are not far, my fellow believers, from the days of his martyrdom. We are not far. A few days behind us lies the martyrdom. That means, we are still in the time when the Amir al-Mu'minin left this world. And to recognize the position of Amir al-Mu'minin we will not be able to, but at least to strive to recognize his position, it is extremely important. This man, my fellow believers, has connected the teachings of the Prophet and the teachings of the Imam with each other. This man is the reason why we sit here today and are still allowed to live our religion. The Prophet (peace be upon him) left us a complete religion, which he completed with the will of Imam Ali. Therefore this man, whom we acknowledge today, he is no insignificant man. Imam Hussein, how often do we weep for Imam Hussein? How often, how often do we talk about him? But what about the narration that says, where the Imam is asked, what is better, the ziyara of Imam Hussein or the ziyara of Imam Ali? He said, the ziyara of Imam Ali is better in that measure than the ziyara of Imam Hussein, in that measure that Imam Ali is better than Imam Hussein. He is not compared, my fellow believers, not even with another member. Imam Ali is, is, is the peak, the peak, and therefore we want to look today at some events of his life, how he exemplified justice. I think that is a good goal. Many of these stories you know, but I want you to internalize these stories today and see that we also implement them in our lives. Inshallah we want to directly take the verse from before into live action, against your families. We want to take this verse directly? Amir al-Mu'minin had a wonderful family and to this family also belongs Akil ibn Abi Talib. My fellow believers, this is the man who chose Umm Banin for Imam Ali. Akil is the man who told Imam Ali, find me a woman from a warrior tribe, so that I can get later. He said here Fatima, this is the man we are just talking about. This is not just a Sahabi from next door. Akil is in a very bad financial situation. Very bad. So he, it really wasn't going well for him and he went to Imam Ali and said: "Could you perhaps give me some money
give from the state treasury, because I am poor and I have many children?" Yes, I am poor, I have many children. Yes, could you just give me a little something from the state treasury? What did he say? He said, this money that is in this treasury, it belongs to the community. This is the money of the Ummah. You have no more right to it than I do, even if you are the brother of the Caliph of the Time. Think about it, my brothers, think about this matter a little, reflect on it a bit. Then Amir al-Muminin took a glowing piece of iron and held it close to his hand. A hot piece of iron. Akil. May Allah be pleased with him a thousand times. He recoiled from the heat, saying, yes, what are you doing there? He said, you are afraid of a fire that a man has heated. I heated it. I am Ali. And I should not be afraid of the fire of Allah when I take the money of the people unjustly. My dear brothers, this is not about Akil wanting to buy a Panamera. This is not about him wanting to buy a Willen. The man was poor. The man was poor. He had to feed his children. But even if you are Akil, I cannot give you money that I would not give to others. That is justice. That is why we say Imam Ali (peace be upon him) is the living Quran. He is the Quran in a lived form. Just as the Rasul (peace be upon him) was the living Quran. He lives this verse. Sometimes we read our tafsir works and say, I am spoiling it for you now, but when you really enter the world of tafsir, you will find in many verses that it says: "This verse means Ali, this verse means Ali, this verse means Ali, this verse means Rasul, this verse Ali, this verse Fatima," and you say, what does this verse have to do with Imam Ali? Why is this verse Ali again? What is meant, my dear brothers, is that these people, they are the living verses. They are the living verses. Allah sent down these verses, why did He send them down? So that we hang them on a wall and say, "Ah, nice, a bit of calligraphy." No, He gave us these verses so that they are put into practice. The purpose of the Quran is the implementation of the Quran. What about a people who implement the Quran in its perfection? That is why we say they are the living Quran. Akil, the caliphs before him and the caliphs after him, especially the caliph before him, Uthman, used the state treasuries for his family. That is why the Muslims, not the Christians, not the Persians, not the Jews, killed Uthman. The Muslims killed Uthman. Not because they loved Imam Ali, they killed him. We cannot say anymore. Yes, man, you gave your family with you huge sums of money and we take over your palace, we find millions of coins. This is our money, our wealth, we are hungry. And then Imam Ali (peace be upon him) does not even give Akil a little more. You are Akil, if you want us to find you a better job, if we give you an opportunity, if we get you out of there, yes, but not through the state treasury. The next story, I have told this story here before, but perhaps not everyone can remember it anymore. Amir al-Muminin, when he became the Caliph, he replaced all the governors he had. You must know, at the time of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), under his domain was Hijaz, so Saudi Arabia, roughly this entire Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, yes, parts of Persia and Egypt. These regions were under his hand and each of these regions had a governor. Okay. And Imam Ali (peace be upon him) was very radical in his policy. He replaced all these governors. Every governor, where he only had the feeling that he could be unjust, unjust in his dealings with his people, he dismissed. That was also one of the reasons why many people gathered against him. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) was not fought,
because they hated him. That is one thing, but because their position was in question. So, one of his governors was Ibn Hunayf. A man of his word. He was replaced. He had spies. He had spies who worked for Imam Ali. What was the task of these spies? They observed his own governors. Which government today does that? Not that you spy on other people, but you also spy on your own people, to see whether they are just enough. Imam Ali, so to speak, received a letter from his spies. As far as I know, that was the governor of Basra. He wrote a letter to him. The letter, as far as I know, says: "O man, my people have brought me the following story to my attention. What happened? What was done? Whose money did he steal? Whom did he kill? What happened? What happened? I have come to know, O man, that you were invited to a meal and at that dining table sat only rich people and no poor people. If this continues, you will be dismissed from your position. The man had not stolen from anyone. He sat alone at a table where there was no poor person. That is already enough. What do you think you are, O man, even if you are an honored companion of mine, that I give you the position of governor so that you associate with rich people? At a table where no poor person sits, that is not the reality. You as a man of government must always live in the reality of your office, in the reality of your people. Do you understand the logic? When Amir sent his letter to Muhammad, he said: "Live like the people in your community. Look exactly how they live and live with them." If we look at today's politicians, they actually live in another world, in a kind of subworld. In this world everything runs well. And that is why we also sometimes hear statements from some federal chancellors or whatever, where they say, what are the prices like? I didn't even know that, because they don't live in the reality. But he says to his governor, you must not sit at a table where, because, if you sit at a table where only rich people are, what will be talked about? About rich topics. About topics of rich people. Where is the poor person? Where is the complaint? Where is the? I have no money. If you spend time with such people, you will never get a feeling for which people you are governing. Therefore, if you continue to do this, he committed a sin, did he steal money, did he collect money to give to his family. No, was he corrupt in that sense? No, he simply sat with rich people. That, my dear brothers and sisters, that is the lesson. Justice is dictated this way. Now some think: "Okay, what can I now as a normal Muslim, who is not a governor, learn from that?" A lot, because each of us is in some position of authority. Each of us has a certain power. The big brother does, the father does, the mother does, being a class representative. Some kind of power will be given to you by Allah at some point, being a husband, being a wife. How do I deal with this position? Responsibly or not responsibly? Do I take this position as a reason to indulge my desires or really take responsibility? I will give you an example. We like to talk about sensitive topics, that these topics are also addressed, so that they are not addressed elsewhere and then our brothers and sisters develop a false image of Islam. We have, for example, this topic, we have, for example, this topic, it is thin ice, but we are doing it now. We have the topic of a woman leaving the house without the permission of her husband. We have this topic in Islam. A very well-known topic. Okay, now you have to combine two worlds. If you only look at one side, the whole thing loses its balance.
If you only look at the other perspective, everything goes out of balance. Now both must be considered. That is Islam. Allah gave the man a certain authority. He gave him this responsibility. He has the authority to enforce these things. But the woman has the responsibility to listen, while the man has the responsibility to have to answer to Allah for every single one of these commands, so that no one can say there is an injustice. Of course, the man must not abuse this position in any case. And if it goes too far, the woman has the right to bring these matters before an Islamic judge anyway. But that is not our case. It is about the fact that for every single instance where the man commands these things, he must be accountable for them. He must be accountable for them. That is it. Islam gives you a role that, at first glance, seems like, wow, high. Amazing. But Islam says, every single thing that you do out of this responsibility, you must take responsibility for it. Another example, the Wali. The father is the Wali of the daughter, yes or no? The daughter needs the permission of the father. Yes or no? Good. The father has the right to say no if he just wants to, as long as he provides an Islamic reason somewhere. But the construction site comes in the account that he must answer for. That is how Allah establishes justice. He says: "Yes, I give you this position, but yes, I also give you responsibility." That is justice. Justice does not simply mean having certain positions and then di

Sag ja, was machst du da? Kann Allah also etwas machen, was sich selber nie geht? Was heißt das? Aber was heutzutage? Was hat gesagt? Was ist passiert? Was hat man gemacht? Wen Geld hat er geklaut? Wen hat er getötet? Was ist was ist passiert?
