The Roman-Orthodox Hieratikon is accessible and useful as a liturgical and study-oriented altar book for various groups within and outside the Roman-Orthodox community.

The altar book is useful not only for Roman-Orthodox priests and deacons, but for all who serve at and around the altar, but of course also for clergy of other Orthodox dioceses and indeed for all the faithful and those interested in the Byzantine Liturgy.

The text announces the availability of the first volume of a Roman-Orthodox Hieratikon. The book is published with the blessing of Metropolitan Isaac of the Antiochian-Orthodox Metropolis of Germany and Central Europe. It comprises 170 pages and contains the text of the Orthros of Sundays and Feasts, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and the Memorial of the Departed (Trisagion). The texts are printed in German and in part in Arabic in transliteration with Latin letters. They contain the corresponding rubrics, that is, liturgical instructions in red. The altar book is intended for Roman-Orthodox priests and deacons, but also for all who serve at and around the altar. It is likewise useful for clergy of other Orthodox dioceses as well as for the faithful and those interested in the Byzantine Liturgy.
