Divine renewal does not begin with external noise, but with the quiet, peaceful courage of the individual to forgive, to act in solidarity, and to set a new beginning in apparent dead ends.

God's new creation therefore does not begin with a loud countdown or the noise of impressive fireworks, but in that peaceful courage that shows itself every time we forgive, every time we stand solidarily together, every time we recognize and set a new beginning in apparent dead ends.

The text is the third thought of a New Year's message and thematizes the beginning of renewal. It compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, which is small but possesses great power. God's new creation does not begin with a loud countdown or fireworks, but with peaceful courage. This courage shows itself in forgiveness, in solidarity, and in recognizing new beginnings in apparent dead ends. A single, quietly and faithfully whispered prayer can transform the entire landscape of life. The text combines theological imagery with concrete everyday actions. It addresses the listeners as an encouragement to begin in the small and the quiet. There is no explicit political or social reference, but an inner and interpersonal one.

And the third thought is: The work of renewal begins gently and quietly. The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed – small in form, but full of great power. God’s new creation therefore does not begin with a loud countdown or the noise of impressive fireworks, but in that peaceful courage that shows itself every time we forgive, when we stand solidarily together, when we recognize and set a new beginning in apparent dead ends. A single prayer, whispered quietly but in faith, can transform the entire landscape of our lives.
