True liberation in Vedanta does not consist in a state of becoming, but in the direct, timeless realization of one's own consciousness through the complete negation of all dualistic categories.

The text elucidates the structure and method of Vedanta through the 'Panchapadika Karika' of Gaudapada. It is explained that the four chapters of the work examine the reality of waking, dream, and deep sleep, as well as non-duality. A central element is the method of negation ('Neti Neti'), in which body, mind, and ego are recognized as not the Self. The speaker emphasizes that spiritual practices such as 'Karna Shuddhi' are necessary to purify the mind and comprehend the truth. A distinction is drawn between intellectual understanding and the direct, timeless experience of consciousness. The teaching is described as a conscious superimposition that only through the negation of all dualities attains its true meaning. Finally, the timelessness and spacelessness of the Self are highlighted as the ultimate realization.

Oh, Gaudapada in his, by the way Gaudapada is about 200-300 years before Shankara, 5th century AD. Yes, Gaudapada is 2, 300 years before Shankara, so 500. Yes? What is that which you have for the instruction? It is a great preceptor, there are probably many others, but he calls himself in Sanskrit the word Paramaguru, which means either your Guru's Guru, or your Guru's Guru's Guru's Guru. Good question. Yes, Shankara is 1. decades, 5. decades. So, they say Shankara 7, 88, it is said that Shankara lived only 32 years. I don't really believe it. He has too much, which is attributed to him, with his writings. No matter. So, Gaudapada has a Karika, a commentary. There are 4 Chapters in the text. The 1. Chapter is called the Agama Prakarana. Agama Prakarana, there are many chapters in the text. It is exclusively about the 12 Mantras of the Mandukya Upanishad. The 2. Chapter is called Vaithatya Prakarana. Vaithatya Prakarana is the 2. chapter, which means the chapter on reality, the actuality. And it is established that the waking state is exactly the same as the dream state. But you must remember or think that it is from the perspective of the Witness, the Witness. From this perspective, both states are equal. From the waking state of being awake, from the perspective, waking is real. And the dream is only an idea of my mind. That is the 2. Chapter. But if waking and dream are both not real, then perhaps nothing is real. But the 3. chapter illustrates and presents that if sleep and dream are, that itself is still there. That is called Advaita Prakarana, the Chapter on Nonduality. And the last chapter is called the Allattashanti Prakarana, Allattashanti Prakarana, which means the chapter on the, they call it the fire brand, a fire brand. It means if you take a stick and it's at the end a fire and you go like this, you see a circle, no circle there, but you can make different things with it. It is the chapter of the fire circle. If one basically has a torch and describes a circle with it, one sees a full circle, but actually it is not there. So it is the one self that's appearing as all of this, but there's just one thing there. It is the one self, which appears as this whole, but there is only the one. So anyway, in the 2. and 3. Chapter, so those verses are called, instead of shlokas, they are called karikas. So in the 2. and 3. Chapter, I'm not sure of hand, there's a famous karika, in 2. and 3. Chapter there is a karika, which states that whatever was said at the beginning of the teaching, of the teaching, is always negated in the end by the sentence, is always negated at the end by the sentence not this, not this. This showed that Gaudapada was a knower of the Sampradaya. Klee, a mirage, a city in the clouds. Another karika states all examples, like the sound, the mirror image, the food-Mafatomagane-appearance, all that. Also all that is only for the purpose of teaching. When the truth is known, then there is no duality. Ghiate, when the truth is known, dvaitam na vidyate, dvaitam duality na vidyate, dvaitam na vidyate, so when the truth is known, which means when it's known, that means I'm a knower and when that's known, dvaitam na vidyate, then there could be no longer any knower or anything known. That is the meaning, to know the self. The knowledge of the self means the self. In the Bhagavad Gita 1850, Shankaracharyas, the verse says, I will now tell you the supreme culmination of Jnana Nishta. Jnana Nishta means the supreme culmination of someone whose mind is a state of mind, the highest culmination of someone whose mind is established in that truth, which shows that merely being established in the truth is not the final culmination. That is the concluding in what it culminates comes together. It's called the penultimate state. Penultimate, the one before the last state is called the penultimate, the state before the last. So Shankar in the commentary there says, so what is the culmination of this Jnana Nishta? He says it's like the knowledge of Brahman. So the guy says, yeah, but what's the knowledge of Brahman like? He says it's like the knowledge of the self. Then the guy says, yeah, but what's the knowledge of the self like? He says the knowledge of the self is like the self. The knowledge of the self is the self. In the Bhashya in the commentary, this is made very clear. So the teaching of Vedanta, that you must perform those and these spiritual practices, to attain the qualifications, so that you are then ready for the knowledge of Vedanta, is all a consciously intended preliminary overlay before the awakening of the teacher. That you are bound, that you must attain freedom, is a conscious preliminary overlay of the teacher, in order to teach you the teaching. But for the Vedantins who really think there is this magical power of ignorance, that it really causes a real bondage. And when you then get some knowledge, and then really can free yourself from what caused the bondage, they believe that liberation is a real thing, and bondage is real. And they do not know the method of Vedanta. And according to Shankaracharya, they should be disregarded, because Gautapada has said, I quoted this verse before. The real truth is that there was never anyone bound, nobody desires to be bound, the real truth is that there was never anyone bound, and nobody desires liberation, and no one was ever really liberated. And no one was ever really liberated. The very distinction between Jannis and Nagyannis, ignorant people and enlightened people, is all within the realm of ignorance. When the ignorance is gone, only the self alone remains. When this ego, Ira, tries to negate everything, I want to know myself, so I'm going to look, and now, oh, I can't be the body, the body is known to me. My senses are known to me, my mind is known to me, my mind is known to me, my ego is known to me, so even my ego is known to me, so when I negate everything, then I ask, maybe I don't even exist, who am I? The person who has reached this point, has arrived, whose mind has been directed so inward, to negate everything, even the ego. Then the teacher in the scriptures says, you are that. Then he can understand this sentence, like the tenth man. If this boatman had revealed to the tenth man beforehand, before he had negated all of them, had said beforehand, you are the tenth man, that would not have offered him the truth in this regard. First, the nine had to be negated. None of these nine is the tenth man. Perhaps there is no tenth man. Perhaps the tenth man drowned in the river. Perhaps we should continue searching for him. Who is the tenth man? Is there a tenth man? This sentence to the one who had already negated the other nine. If he had not yet negated the nine, this sentence to him would have been as if singing to the dead, to the deaf. If we had not, like the tenth man, already negated the other nine, that is, if we had not already negated the Kshetra as the elements, as body, mind, sense apparatus, and I, it would not be possible for us. To comprehend the teaching of Vedanta, that I am this very self. All the practices I have done to purify my opinion in the Karna Shuddhi, are those that I have done in the Karna Shuddhi. I have done the teaching of Vedanta, which I have done in the Karna Shuddhi, with the practices I have done to purify my mind, to get the capacity that the sentence lacked, to master my opinion, which I had to master with the Kshetra, to prevent the adventures, what is the Kshetra? What is the adventure? The Kshetra is one who is filled with this knowledge, with this discernment, that I am not the body, mind, senses, and that, not only an intelligent understanding, but those who can internally grasp the truth of this fact, then there is nothing so close, nothing is clear, nothing so direct, as my own Self as taught in Vedanta. But if I have not yet done that and come to you at this stage, then the teaching, you are that, is of no significance whatsoever. We can understand it, we cannot understand it, and if we think about how we understand it, it still has no use. I know, I am that very Self, but nothing has changed. I still have to get up in the morning, brush my teeth. Vedanta is not only about intelligently understanding this fact, but also about having that very Self as a fact. I have the direct feeling that it is not merely intelligent, but I see the truth, the fact, that when one sees the fact that one is that very Self even in the moment, when I mistake a rope for a snake, and I am glad that it is a snake, and then I see my own experience, it is only a rope, it is not a snake, it is only a misapprehension. As if I now here mistakenly perceive this rope as a snake, and then in my experience I disprove it and see, there was never a snake. In this example, I am the knower, the rope is known, the snake was the false concept. I eliminate the false concept, I know it is a rope, I am still the knower, a knower. So it may well be possible that tomorrow I again mistakenly accept it. But with the knower itself, the very knower, the actual knower, to be the knower, that is ignorance; when I know myself, there is no knower, the knower is the knower, the ignorance; when I know myself, there is no knower, for the knower there is nothing to know. Therefore Vedanta is so called, the conclusive means of knowledge, because after it has made the Self known, through negation, after Vedanta and the teacher have negated for the student, the teacher has given what there was to know, Pramata, Pramana, Prameya, the knower, the means of knowledge, and the object of knowledge, the knower and the knowledge, then even time is thereby characterized by its non-existence. In the worldly example, the knower exists, the knower, the knower, the knower, the knower, in the worldly example time still exists, after I know the rope as such. But this Neti Neti is the negation of time, space, and causation. The negation of time, space, and causation. Cause in effect, because it requires time that there is a cause and then an effect, an outcome. In the Self there is no time. It is the witness of time. There is a time in which there is no time. In deep sleep, how much time is there? I have slept for four hours. Is that in the waking time or in the state of deep sleep? You must look into your own, not your own, experiences of deep sleep. And look out from it, not from the state of waking. The Self is timeless, spaceless Awareness. The Self is timeless, spaceless awareness. If we say that consciousness will always be in the past, that it is now and in the future will always be in the past, if we say that consciousness is omnipresent. That is the only thing it is, we do not say. It was in the past, it is now, it will be in the future. Awareness, that is not in time or space. It means, timeless is awareness, awareness that is neither in time nor in space. So, that neti neti in the end time, space, or known, neti neti, time, space, knower to known, to negate the knower, not only the whole universe, the whole universe, including body, mind, intellect, and ego to negate. That is the first neti. The first neti is that. The second neti is, that is the first neti. This is the first neti, and it must also be done by those who remove the jnana, those who perform the neti. This is the neti neti. If it is still there after the first neti, then you must perform the complete neti neti. This is the methodology of Vedanta. There are already two books, one book like this one, and the title of the book is, How to recognize the methodology of Vedanta. My teacher has written two books, one is the Thin One. That is, how to recognize the method of Vedanta. He has another Sanskrit text, which uses the same stages, the other text was in English, it was in Sanskrit, it is 1,025 pages. And it is a refutation of all teachers from Sureshwaracharya to the modern time, how all teachers from Sureshwaracharya to the present day have ignored this method of the Vedantins. They all have taught that you must truly obtain this knowledge. After you have that knowledge, it may perhaps not be so strong. Then you must fix this knowledge. When you fix it, you are just like the Gudo. Then you can open your own Ashram more. And then people will come and give glam around you. There were those, and it is very common, to get this knowledge, you need Samadhi. All your thoughts, you must have gotten rid of them. Yoga chitta vritti nirodha. So Vedanta and Patanjali Yoga were totally mixed together. But what you must remember is that you have the knowledge. But that one has rid oneself of one's thoughts has absolutely no value in Vedanta. Every night we go to sleep and we have no guiding thoughts. And just as ignorant as we fell asleep, we wake up. Patanjali got near Vikalpa Samadhi and when he came out of it, he said the world is real. Patanjali had near Vikalpa Samadhi, when he came out of near Vikalpa Samadhi, he said, the world is real. He said, my Self is different from yours. There are infinitely many Purushas. And it is a special Purusha, which is different from mine. That is called Ishvara. Pure Dualism. But in almost every Ashram in Rishikesh they teach you the Astanga Yoga, the eight-limbed path of Yoga. That the whole purpose of Vedanta would be, near Vikalpa from Yoga, to achieve near Vikalpa Samadhi. A Sutra in the Brahma Sutras states, etena yoga prayukta, with this logical reasoning Yoga-philosophy was refuted. The Shankar explains in the commentary on the Sutra, regarding Patanjali Yoga, he says, go into deep sleep, into deep sleep, into deep sleep, he says, go into deep sleep, Samadhi is not needed, because you go into the engineer, and you come out of the engineer. But almost all Vedanta teachers in Rishikesh there is a rich Ashram, which is here, Ramdev. No? That is one of the largest Ashrams, the name of the Ashram is Patanjali Advaita Ashram. I have spoken to you about the 6 orthodox Astika schools. Samkhya and Yoga, Purva-Mimamsa and Uttara-Mimamsa, and Uttara-Mimamsa is the only Advaita school. But today, everywhere, to get Vaishnavism, you must get Advaita, you need Vaishnava Samadhi. This is because they did not understand the method of Vedanta. This is universal, the recognition, the old Vedantins still remain, and this is taught after the knowledge, the old Vedantins persist. And until you fall, you must always still take care of some Vedantins. So Liberation, Jivanmukti, was only a secondary type of Liberation, but after death you get Videhamukti, then you ultimately, you become free from the bindings or the binding of the body, then you go into Brahman 1, at the time of death, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, and you go into Brahman 1, until then, until then, you will have hunger, you can your See am To bump into a chair, I know that all of this is a dream, but this dream can be a nightmare and it can bite you very badly. It is only when there is no second thing that we are in the state of liberation. As long as you pull the world, no matter what you may think about it, ignorance has not gone. If you think you are a Gnani and I know that the world is false, you are fooling yourself and you are the students. You have not understood the method of Vedanta. I think I will end the class on this note, we will leave it at this point. I think, so I will now end the lesson and then we can open it up for some discussion, but yes, that is just the closing remark. I want to thank you all for having sat through this, for having persevered. I know it was not easy. It is very difficult and it is so abstract. It is so challenging and it seems so abstract. If you can take away any of these 5 principles and carry them into your own spiritual journey, and if you hear other teachers and teachers, you can see it in this framing, whether it makes sense what they are really saying, whether it is something relevant or whether it is something that I can ask here, there is a kind of looking back that you did not have before. That was the only reason why I give this class, because I feel that, when I hear these things, it is very precious and sublime, a very broad understanding of things. For other people who look into these things and about these things, I can simply share these things. I have nothing to sell, I have no feet here. I am not selling the things that I have here. I have no feet, I have no feet, I have no feet, I have no feet, I am not selling anything here. It was just that, when I heard about it, it was something incredibly valuable to me that I want to share with you, for those who are seriously seeking. I am quite certain that none of you, through these lectures, has become an enlightened person. I can assure you once again and remind you that the teacher here is not enlightened. It was simply this part of an ignorant teacher with the ignorant student. My opinion is, Shankara, who wrote this comment, was ignorant. My Shankara has never written a comment. Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devam, Maheshwara, Guru Sakshatpara Brahma. Brahma has never written a comment about anything. That is my Shankara, that is my Guru. The one who sat there and listened to me empty was ignorant. I think that understanding it in this way is the best. I am now opening it up for questions, comments, suggestions, whatever anyone says. This is a concept that one finds oneself in in this context. Do you say it briefly again in German? No. So, Varsen... No, I first asked him, in Germany, or? In Germany? Yes, good. Varsen, whether that prevents us from entering this pharmacist and the stadium. Whether it is something that we hear again, what would happen then and why here. And such another concept, which is at the star, what we agree to that. Thank you. So, Varsen are generally the latent tendencies in our mind. Varsen as our Gades are similar to Varsen, as the latent tendencies in the mind. And Varsen, when one always makes an experience, it leaves that the imprint is in the subconscious, and can pop up again at any time, as it is very similar to Varsen. I think the most important point to remember is that Varsen, which are in our mind, as mental phenomena, are. When they are unmanifest, or they come up and say, these are my Varsen, then they recognize, these are my old tendencies, the old habits of the ego. And the guidance of Sadhana is, to purify the ego and to cause the Varsen, and they themselves always to think further about the Supreme Being, and not to forget, but to align our reverence with everything that is other than It. Not to forget It, but to cling to It as the Only One. It is not the question of whether one withdraws into the cave. To leave everything behind, in the cave, that is, wife, children, job, leaving everything behind, that is not the idea. Christ says, Karmani avi pravito api, even if all the Vasanas are running, even if all the Vasanas are running, even if all the Vasanas are running, by purifying the mind enough to get some distance from it, as though I am the ever-present witnessing consciousness in which all of this is happening, and then having purified the mind, while all the other is running. That is the true Samsara. That is the true non-attachment. I have told the story of Yajnavalkya, who is the wisest in the whole kingdom. He had two wives, he had thousands of students, he has run a very large Gurukulam, and he had incredible responsibility. But it is said that he knew the truth of the Self. It is this true attachment to the mind, these are the Vasanas. It is our identification with them. But in order to become, that the identification is the opinion, the opinion is, to make the spiritual. Spiritual means that the spiritual is not an intellect of the faculty of the legs, but that the faculty is to withdraw the expansion of the expansion and to di

Oh, Gordapada in his, by the way Gordapada is about 200-300 years before Shankar, 5th century AD. Ja, Gordapada ist 2, 300 Jahre Vorschankala, also 500. Ja? Was ist das, was du dir das für die Stichung hast? Es ist ein grand préceptor, es gibt wahrscheinlich auch viele andere, aber er nennt sich in Sanskrit das Wort Paramaguru, das bedeutet either your Guru's Guru, or your Guru's Guru's Guru's Guru. Gute Frage. Ja, Shankar ist 1. Jahrzehnte, 5. Jahrzehnte. Macht nichts. So, Gordapada hat ein Karika, ein Kommentar. Es gibt 4 Chapters in der Text. Der 1. Chapter ist called the Agama Prakarana. Das ist called Advaita Prakarana, the Chapter on Nonduality. So it is the one self that's appearing as all of this, but there's just one thing there. So anyway, in the 2. und 3. Chapter, so those verses are called, instead of shlokas, they are called karikas. So in the 2. und 3. Chapter, I'm not sure of hand, there's a famous karika, in 2. und 3. Klee, a mirrage, a city in the clouds. Ghiate, when the truth is known, dvaitam na vidyate, dvaitam duality na vidyate, dvaitam na vidyate, also wenn die Wahrheit gekannt ist, which means when it's known, that means I'm a knower and when that's known, dvaitam na vidyate, then they could be no longer any knower or anything known. Und according to Shankaracharya, they should be disregarded, because Gautapada has said, I quoted this verse before. Patanjali got near Vikalpa Samadhi und when he came out of it, he said the world is real. Nein. So, Varsen... In Deutschland?
