#4 Is this the Ende Gelände newsletter?!

no name given · Ende Gelaende – News · 2026-07-19 · Source

Community · main message Hope · carrying

The restoration of the newsletter is a necessary step to ensure the mobilization and information of activists in the fight against gas expansion and militarization.

The Ende Gelände newsletter is back. Good to see you're here too!

The text announces the resumption of the Ende Gelände newsletter after a phase of inactivity, humorously described as having lost the 'key'. The authors reflect that during this time they missed important actions such as the blockade of gas infrastructure and participation in the Hammer Climate Camp. They emphasize that the movement was nonetheless active, as evidenced by photos and videos on social media. The text serves as an announcement that the newsletter will again provide information about political participation and donation opportunities. A tone of relief and a fresh start is struck, with readers addressed as part of a community that works for climate protection and against militarization. The core message is the restoration of the information channel for mobilizing the base.

“Here we are again.” We stare at Ende Gelände. “Sorry, we lost the key to your box.” We brush the dust off our sleeves and look at each other. Not so long ago, they had finally taken us, the newsletter Oompa-Loompas, out of the closet again. “Provide people with information,” they had said, and “Show them how they can participate in the mass action against gas expansion and militarization. Tell them where they can donate to counter the policies of the federal government.” And then this. They misplaced the key and simply drove off alone to the Hammer Climate Camp. Good thing there is the action ticker and the press review on the website, otherwise we would not have noticed at all that Ende Gelände, with thousands of activists, blocked fossil gas infrastructure and tank factories. We would never have heard about the world record at the Future Instead of Gas demonstration, with the largest human-made wind turbine either. Did all of this really happen? It seems so surreal. Thousands of people meeting in the Ruhr region for a whole week, drawing strength, and breathing life into the anti-gas movement? If it were not for the many photos and videos on Ende Gelände’s social media, we could not even imagine it. We take a sip of mate and slowly begin to warm up our writing muscles. We are still a bit unsteady on our feet, but ideas for new exciting newsletters are finally flowing again. Carefully, we unroll the parchment and sharpen the quills. The Ende Gelände newsletter is back. Good that you are too!
