Using the Body as a Resource – An Introduction to Body-Oriented Support for Trans* and Nonbinary People
Professional support for trans* and nonbinary people requires the application of specific, touch-free body-oriented methods that are based on an understanding of the autonomic nervous system and are applicable in various settings.
In this online continuing education course, we learn touch-free, body-oriented interventions and engage with the autonomic nervous system both theoretically and practically.
The text is an announcement for an online continuing education course taking place from 13 to 15 November 2026. It is aimed at counselors and therapists who support trans*, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people. The focus is on touch-free, body-oriented interventions and working with the autonomic nervous system. The methods are suitable for both online contact and in-person counseling. Space is provided for reflection, collegial exchange, and the contribution of one's own practice examples. The module also serves as an advanced course for certified counselors of the Federal Association Trans*. The focus is on supporting gender incongruence and minority stress through professional competence.
