The high rank with God is attained exclusively through righteousness, obedience, and good deeds, not through wealth, appearance, or social standing.

Those who are obedient to God and His Messenger will be on the Day of Judgment with the prophets, the truthful, and the righteous.

The text is an Islamic sermon that highlights the high rank of the righteous servants of God with Allâh. It draws on several Quranic passages and a hadith to show that obedience to God and the Prophet Muhammad is the path to honour and reward. The preacher explicitly warns against false claims about prophets, in particular a story about Moses that is called a lie. He emphasises that rank with God is not determined by wealth, appearance, or social standing, but by righteousness and good deeds. Care for the needy, the poor, widows, and animals is presented as an expression of faith. The text calls for the fear of God, the avoidance of sins, and the following of the prophets. In the second address, the immutability of the divine will is emphasised and a statement is branded as a falsehood.

Praise be to Allah, the Exalted. May Allah protect us from committing sins. The one whom Allah has guided will not go astray, and the one whom Allah has led astray will not find guidance. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the One, Who has no partner and to Whom nothing and no one is similar. The One Who has no form, no shape, and no limbs. The One Who is not a body and has no dimensions. The One Who exists without a place. And I bear witness that our honored, beloved, and great Prophet Muhammad is the servant and messenger of Allah. Peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and upon all other prophets. Beloved brothers, Allah Ta'ala says in the Noble Qur'an: ﴿وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّ‍ۧنَ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَۚ وَحَسُنَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ رَفِيقا ٦٩﴾ The meaning is: Those who are obedient to Allah and His Messenger will be, on the Day of Judgment, with the prophets, the truthful, and the righteous. Blessed are the righteous servants of Allah, the Exalted, and those who follow their path. Blessed are those to whom the following Ayah applies: ﴿أَلَآ إِنَّ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ ٦٢ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ ٦٣ لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ ﴾ The meaning is: Indeed, for the saints there is no punishment in this world, in the grave, nor in the Hereafter. They feel no grief in the grave nor in the Hereafter. They receive in this world the good news of the reward they will receive in the Hereafter. Blessed are those to whom the following Hadith Qudsi, narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim, applies: The meaning is: Allah has prepared for the righteous something that no eye has seen, that no ear has heard, and that has not occurred to the heart of any human being. Blessed are those who followed Adam, Moses, and Jesus. Blessed are those who followed David, Solomon, Job, and Jonah. Blessed are those who follow Muhammad (in a perfect manner. What an honor is bestowed upon the servant of Allah who is upon the true faith! The servant attains a high rank through the correct faith and the performance of good deeds. He does not attain the level of Iliyyun through a beautiful appearance. Blessed are those who prepare for what comes after death and strive for the reward from Allah. Blessed are those who benefit people and do not harm them. Blessed are those who are on the path of the prophets and the righteous, and thus will be with them in Paradise. Indeed, the sincere performance of good deeds is an honor for the doer, and thereby his rank is elevated. Allah Ta'ala says regarding the rank of His Messenger ﷺ in Surah Ash-Sharh, Ayah 4: ﴿وَرَفَعْنا لَكَ ذِكْرَك﴾ From this Ayah, it is understood that the Prophet Muhammad received an honor, which is that when the name of Allah is mentioned, the name of the Prophet ﷺ is also mentioned. The righteous one is the one who submits to the laws imposed by God and thus performs the duties and avoids the sins. When this person dies, he will not be punished in the grave nor in the Hereafter. The prophets hold the highest rank among the creatures. Neither the angels nor the saints surpass this rank, no matter how many good deeds they perform. Abû Bakr did not reach the rank of ^Îsâ or Mûsâ, just as ^Umar Ibn al-Kha tt âb, ^Uthmân, and ^Aliyy did not reach the rank of a prophet, no matter how hard they strived in performing good deeds. One does not attain prophethood through effort. Allâhu Ta^âlâ chose the prophets as bearers of glad tidings and warners. Regarding the high rank of the Prophet Mûsâ, Allâh says in the Q ur‘ân in the Sûrah al-´A hz âb, verse 69: ﴿وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيها ٦٩﴾ The meaning is: The Prophet Mûsâ has a high rank with Allâh. It is astonishing what some who falsely claim to belong to Sufism assert about the Prophet Mûsâ. They say: When Mûsâ saw a mangy dog, Allâh supposedly asked him: Do you believe that you are better than this mangy dog? Mûsâ supposedly replied: No. Allâh supposedly then said: Had you answered with 'yes', I would have removed you from the circle of prophets. Would anyone who uses their reason tell such a lie about an honored prophet, about whom Allâh says in the noble Q ur’ân: ﴿وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيها ٦٩﴾ The meaning is: The Prophet Mûsâ has a high rank with Allâh. The state of these liars resembles the state of those to whom the Torah was sent, who did not accept the Torah and therefore derived no benefit from it. They are like the donkey that carries books. But does it derive any benefit from them? The righteous do not lie about Allâh nor about the prophets. They do not distort the Q ur’ân. How does one attain a high rank with Allâh? The elevation of a person's rank occurs through obedience to God. For the rank with Allâh, it is not decisive how beautiful a person is, how full his pocket is, or how high his reputation is. To attain a high rank with Allâh, it is also not decisive how wealthy one is. Truly, one attains a high rank with Allâh through following the Islamic legislation, through following the Q ur’ân, and by being of use to people and attending to the needs of the poor, the weak, widows, and the homeless. Those whom Allâh loves are the prophets and those who followed them in a perfect manner. One does not attain a high rank with Allâh through wealth. The Imâm Muslim reports that a Muslim woman from the descendants of the Prophet Ya^ q ûb, – who engaged in forbidden sexual intercourse (a z - Z inâ) – saw a thirsty dog running around a well. She took her shoe, drew water from the well, and gave it to the dog to drink. Because of this deed, Allâh forgave this woman. Why then do some people neglect helping those in need? Helping the weeping children, the widows in distress, and the men who weep because of their poverty? Allâhu Ta^âlâ says in the Sûrah al-‘Anbiyâ ‘, verse 51, about the Prophet Ibrâhîm: ﴿وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ رُشۡدَهۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّآ بِهۦۦ عَٰلِمِينَ ٥١﴾ The meaning is: Allâh gave the Prophet Ibrâhîm guidance – even before he received prophethood – and Allâh is aware of him. The Prophet Ibrâhîm called his people to worship Allâh alone and to cease the worship of statues. Those who did not follow his call demanded the burning of Ibrâhîm. Allâhu Ta^âlâ protected His Prophet, as is evident from the Sûrah al-´Anbiyâ ‘, verse 69: ﴿Say: "O Fire, be cool and a source of safety for Abraham." (69)﴾ The meaning is: Allâh commanded the fire to be protective and cool towards Ibrâhîm. The Prophet Nûh, who holds a high rank with Allâh, called his people to Islam for 950 years. One day, some of his people passed by him while he was building his ship in present-day Iraq before the Great Flood. They beat him until he fainted. Allâhu Ta^âlâ says in Sûrah al-‘Anbiyâ‘, Âyah 76: ﴿And [mention] Noah, when he called [his people] before [the flood], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great calamity. (76)﴾ The meaning is: The Prophet Nûh made supplications to Allâh before the Great Flood, whereupon Allâh delivered him and his believing relatives from their difficult situation. The world is the place of afflictions. Both prophets and the righteous, as well as those people who do not believe in Allâh and His messengers, experience tribulations. What is decisive for a high rank with Allâh is the righteousness of a person, and not merely the fact that a person is afflicted. Allâhu Ta^âlâ says in Sûrah al-‘Anbiyâ‘, Âyah 79, regarding the prophets Dâwûd and Sulaymân: ﴿And to each of them We gave wisdom and knowledge, and We subjected the mountains to David, [making them] glorify [Allâh] along with the birds. (79)﴾ The meaning is: Allâh granted them wisdom and knowledge and supported Dâwûd with the miracle that mountains and birds, together with him, praised God. And in Sûrah al-‘Anbiyâ‘, Âyah 81, Allâhu Ta^âlâ says: ﴿And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing violently, running by his command. (81)﴾ The meaning is: Allâh granted the Prophet Sulaymân the miracle that the wind obeyed his commands. And in Sûrah al-‘Anbiyâ‘, Âyah 82, Allâhu Ta^âlâ says: ﴿And among the devils are those who dive for him and do work other than that. (82)﴾ The meaning is: Allâh granted the Prophet Sulaymân the miracle that the devils, by his command, dove into the depths of the seas to retrieve the treasures of the ocean depths for him. Allâh granted the Prophet Sulaymân as much wealth as no one after him, yet he did not forget that Allâh had bestowed these gifts upon him. He did not belong to those who were vain in obedience to God. He performed good deeds and belonged to the sincere and the kind. Not all people have the same rank with Allâh. The one who believes in God and His messengers is not to be equated with the one who does not believe in God and His messengers. The one who believes in the messengers is not to be equated with the one who insults them. Likewise, the one who does good is not to be equated with the one who commits what is forbidden. In conclusion, we mention Âyah 28 of Sûrah Nûh: ﴿[He said], "My Lord, forgive me and my parents and those who entered my home as believers and the believing men and believing women, and do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction." (28)﴾ The meaning is: The Prophet Nûh asked Allâh for forgiveness for his parents, for those who should enter his home as believers, as well as for the male and female believers. This is it, and I ask Allâh for forgiveness for you and for me. The second sermon: Praise belongs to Allâh, the Exalted. We praise Him, ask Him for support, guidance, and forgiveness. May Allâh protect us from committing sins. The one who is guided by God will not go astray, and the one who is led astray by God will not find guidance. A s - S alâtu was-Salâmu upon the Prophet Mu h ammad and upon all other prophets. Then, O servants of God, I call you and myself to righteousness and to the fear of Allâh, the Exalted and Almighty. Servants of God, know that the Will of God does not change, for change is a sign of origination. Therefore, one must be warned against the following statement made by some people. They say: “God actually intended to create this woman as a man, but He created her as a woman.” Whoever claims such a thing commits disbelief, for thereby he attributes the origination of the Will to Allâh. It is known to every Muslim that the Will of God does not change. Whoever has said such a thing is obligated to pronounce the declaration of faith in order to return to Islam. And know that Allâh called you to something important. He has called upon you to recite A s - S alâtu was-Salâmu for the Prophet. Allâh, the Exalted, says in Sûratu l-´A hz âb, Verse 56: ﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا ٥٦﴾ O Allâh, grant the Prophet Mu h ammad and his Âl a higher rank, just as You granted the Prophet Ibrâhîm and his Âl a high rank. And grant the Prophet Mu h ammad and his Âl blessings, just as You granted the Prophet Ibrâhîm and his Âl blessings. You are the One who is described with perfect power and mercy, and the One who has the right to be praised. Allâh, the Exalted, says in the holy Q ur´ân : ﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمۡۚ إِنَّ زَلۡزَلَةَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ شَيۡءٌ عَظِيم ١ يَوۡمَ تَرَوۡنَهَا تَذۡهَلُ كُلُّ مُرۡضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرۡضَعَتۡ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمۡلٍ حَمۡلَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلنَّاسَ سُكَٰرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَٰرَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ ٱللَّهِ شَدِيد ٢﴾ The meaning is: O mankind, be among the righteous. Verily, on the Day of Judgment, tremendous events will occur. On that day, every nursing mother will forget what she is nursing, every pregnant woman will drop her burden, and you will see the people in a state of intoxication, though they are not intoxicated, but rather the punishment of God is severe. O Allâh, we ask You to fulfill our supplication, to forgive our sins and mistakes, to include us among the rightly guided, and not among those who have gone astray. O Allâh, we ask You to remove our worries and grief from us and to protect us from what we fear. Servants of God, Allâh calls for justice, good conduct, and the maintenance of kinship ties, and He forbids obscenities, evil, and injustice. This is an admonition so that you may reflect. Perform the duties and refrain from sins, ask God for forgiveness and put your trust in God, be righteous, and He will remove your worries and distress from you. A q imi s - S alâh ! Allâh, der Erhabene, sagt in Sûratu l-´A hz âb, Âyah 56: ﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّۚ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا ٥٦﴾ O Allâh, gebe dem Propheten Mu h ammad und seinen Âl einen höheren Rang, so wie Du dem Propheten Ibrâhîm und seinen Âl einen hohen Rang gegeben hast. A q imi s - S alâh ! (Sag die I q âmah auf)
