The exemplary believer is characterized by his deep connection to God, which gives him steadfastness in crises and makes him a useful, harmless, and valuable member of the community.
The believer is, according to our Prophet, like a piece of gold; even if its owner blows air into it with the bellows, it does not change and does not lose mass…
The text defines the ideal image of the believer on the basis of five parables of the Prophet Muhammad. It first refers to the Quranic verse 33/21, which presents the Prophet as a model. The first parables compare the Muslim to a date palm, which is supported by its roots (faith) and provides shade and fruit to others. Further comparisons include the green wheat ear, which bends in the wind but does not break, and gold, which does not lose its value through mud, as long as repentance is practiced. The image of the perfumer and the honeybee emphasizes the positive radiance and the useful, harmless character of the believer in the social environment. The text concludes with the wish that the believers may remain steadfast in difficulties and be useful to humanity.

The Exemplary Believer from the Perspective of Our Prophet
(06.12.2024)
In the recited noble verse, our exalted Creator says: "In the Messenger of Allah you have a beautiful example for everyone who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and often remembers Allah." [1]
My brothers and sisters! Honored believers!
Our Prophet (s) left traces in the minds of people not only with his exemplary life but also with his words, which harbored deep meanings, and he likewise influenced their hearts. Especially with his beautiful parables in his definition of believers, he made clear to us what it means to be a believer. In the most beautiful way, he showed us what attitude we are to display in every area of our lives.
My brothers and sisters!
In a hadith, our Prophet compares the Muslim to a date palm tree that does not lose its foliage and bears fruit at all times. [2] This hadith teaches us that Muslims should be generous and bountiful people, both with their fruits and with their shade, from which people benefit. Just as the trunk, the leaves, and the fruits draw their energy from the roots of the tree, the believer draws his energy from his faith and his connection to the exalted Allah. Just as the root supplies the tree with nutrients, faith grants the believer spirit, enthusiasm, and hope.
"The believer is," according to our Prophet, "like the green ear of wheat. It bends with the wind but does not topple over. After the wind has calmed, it straightens itself up again. So too is the believer; he bends due to misfortune or afflictions but does not fall over. (…) [3]"
"The believer is," according to our Prophet, "like a piece of gold; even if its owner blows air into it with a bellows, it does not change and does not lose in mass…" [4] From this hadith we learn that the believer is very valuable and particularly precious. Just as gold that has fallen into mud does not lose in value, a sinning believer will in no way lose in value as long as he purifies himself with the repentant plea for forgiveness (tauba).
"The believer is," according to our Prophet, "like a perfumer. If you stay with him, it brings you benefit; if you walk along with him, it brings you benefit; if you enter into a partnership with him, it brings you benefit again." [5] From the hadith we learn that the believer, in every environment in which he finds himself, always has a positive influence. Spending time together with the believer brings the person peace and trust.
"The believer is," according to our Prophet, "like a honeybee; it takes in beautiful things, produces beautiful things, lands on beautiful places; it neither damages nor lets anything spoil on which it lands." [6] From the hadith we learn that the believer – just like the honeybee – pays particular attention to what he eats and drinks. He works and strives for the goals that Allah has set for him. He produces beautiful things from which people benefit. Just as the honeybee does no harm to the flower, the believer does no harm to anyone with his hand and tongue. [7]
May the exalted Allah make us exemplary believers who do not topple over in difficulties but strive and work to be of use to humanity.

Der vorbildhafte Gläubige nach Perspektive unseres Propheten
(06.12.2024)
