This was followed by 26 uninterrupted years of exemplary pastoral work. As few did, he loved the parish that our Church had entrusted to him. Thus it was that he and his co-workers succeeded in acquiring a large plot of land in a good location in the city of Herten and there to erect the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Demetrios. This church, with its beautiful interior and exterior furnishings, became the center of church life and the spiritual development of its parishioners. It is not only a pride of the Orthodox, but also a particular ornament of the city.

Es folgten 26 ununterbrochene Jahre eines vorbildlichen seelsorgerischen Wirkens. Wie nur wenige liebte er die Gemeinde, die ihm unsere Kirche anvertraut hatte. So gelang es ihm und seinen Mitarbeitern ein großes Grundstück in guter Lage der Stadt Herten zu erwerben und dort die Kirche des heiligen Großmärtyrers Dimitrios zu errichten. Diese Kirche mit ihrer schönen Innen-und Außenausstattung wurde zum Mittelpunkt des kirchlichen Lebens und der geistlichen Entfaltung seiner Gemeindemitglieder. Sie ist nicht nur ein Stolz der Orthodoxen, sondern auch ein besonderes Schmuckstück der Stadt.
