The Kingdom of God is an already present inner ruling structure that enables the individual to positively change their surroundings, and which must stand in first place in thinking and life in order to be sustainable.

The Kingdom of God is the gift and we are the wrapping paper around it. We are allowed to take our life and say, this is the Kingdom of God, and this is something that not only looks good on the outside, but is also sustainable on the inside.

The text is the third part of a sermon series on the Kingdom of God, which is understood as an invisible kingdom in the hearts of believers. The central question is how this inner kingdom contributes to positively changing one's surroundings. The speaker refers to Jesus' mission command and emphasizes that discipleship is not primarily to be understood as religious-institutional, but as following and life transformation. The Kingdom begins with an inner change of rule, in which God takes the place of one's own kingship. The church is described as a place of refueling and equipping, from which one goes out to make a difference in everyday life. The word 'first' in the biblical passage about the Kingdom of God is highlighted as central: the Kingdom of God is to stand in first place in thinking and life, not merely as after-the-fact wrapping paper around a self-determined life. The text contains numerous everyday metaphors (gas station, passenger perspective, tour bus, cake) and personal anecdotes to make the message tangible.

Yes, my dear ones, it is beautiful to see you. It is great to restart the last part of Kingdom of God, our series that we are currently in, where it is about God's invisible kingdom of hearts within us that expands and continues. And today we are looking at how can the kingdom of hearts help us and support us in that I positively change my environment? Because that is our wish. Our passion is that people become more like Jesus Christ, live fearlessly and positively change their environment. How can the kingdom of God in my heart contribute to that? I hope you are ready for this. Jesus, I thank you. I thank you for all the people who are here today and you already knew that they would come before any tone was sung here, before the doors here opened this morning. And you have something so beautiful for us today. And that is why I pray that our hearts are wide open now. You can decide, if you want, if you are sitting here. You can open your heart now. You hear the things that Jesus has for you, because he has good things for you and he is for you and he loves you and he simply wishes that your heart is wide open, because he will put something into it that is divine. And Jesus, I thank you that you use my words today, but that in the hearts your thoughts arrive. Amen. The kingdom of God. What does the kingdom have to do with me positively changing my environment? Positively changing my environment, that is a mandate that we have received from God. Jesus said the following at the very end of his time here on earth. He said it to his disciples. The people who had been on the road with him for a long time, who had followed him, who had said in their heart, I have a king, I am on the road with Jesus as king. To them he said the following: To me all authority in heaven and on earth has been given. Therefore go and make all nations disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. And I assure you, I am always with you until the end of the age. People also commonly call this the Great Commission. Jesus tells us, do that, but he also said much, much more in there. And then we often think, mission is somehow when we get people to go to church, when we get people to be a member of a church, maybe occasionally donate a little money. One might also explain the four symbols that one can somehow have, so that one somehow gets into heaven. But being a disciple actually means nothing religious. It actually has nothing to do with church at first, but with discipleship. It is about telling other people the good news of Jesus. Francis of Assisi said, preach the gospel at all times and when necessary, use words. It is about your heart. It is about that something happens and occurs in your heart that changes you so much, that it changes you so much, that it flows out of you so that other people around you are changed, that your environment is positively changed. You live your best life and others say, wow, I want that too. Jesus says, by the way, I am with you. I give you the strength for that. I will be with you until the end of the age. And the kingdom of God is what happens in my heart. It is already here, but it is not yet complete. It will fully bloom as soon as Jesus has come again, comes back here to this earth. In this kingdom God is the king and a king of peace. Who gladly wishes that we also live in peace with him. Make peace with God is a statement of this kingdom, that you live in peace, that you live in peace with God, with yourself, with other people. It begins in your heart and it has something to do with the fact that the rule in you changes. You are no longer your own king, but you allow God to ascend to the throne and you say, I have made a change of rule. I have turned around. My heart is being restored and I live from God's power. And Jesus was here on this earth to present this kingdom and to equip us, he said, I remain, I will send you the Holy Spirit, who gives you power to continue living. And just as Jesus was here on earth to equip us, God also says here every Sunday, you are here to be equipped. To refuel, the Holy Spirit is at work. Here is worship, here is community. Discipleship, Jesus discipleship always happens in community with other people and it is important that you know that. The church is so valuable for you and we are here and we worship the one and only King. But then it also says again, just as Jesus said that, now go out again. Refuel on Sunday, go out, just as Jesus was on earth, he said, I equip you, but then you go out. I equip you, that is our task as a church, to equip the believers, so that each one can positively change their environment. Go out, you don't stand at the gas station forever with your car either. You don't just buy a car to refuel. You buy it, no one can afford it either, always keeping in mind, all the time refueling, that would be quite expensive. But you buy the car, you refuel and then you drive away from the gas station again. Every time at the gas station I meet other people, no one stays standing for long. You refuel in order to drive. You let yourself be refueled and equipped here in the church, to receive a blessing, to be a blessing. Church is for you to refuel and if you have been in church for 20 years and always only refuel for yourself and refuel and refuel and refuel, then it is time that you close the fuel cap, hang up the pump and say, now I am ready, Jesus, now I am going. It is about the fact that you get something here that you can implement next week, that you can see, then you come back here over the next week and then you can refuel a little more and then live something again and try something out. That is something that we love here. Believe me not a word, just try it out. That is what we have church for, to refuel. It is important that you know that going out is part of the kingdom. The following passage in the Bible. I don't even know if we have it on the screen, but listen carefully. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. I don't know how it is with you. Sometimes, when you drive somewhere and you always drive with the car, then you think, you know the route, you have already seen everything on this route and then you are suddenly a passenger. Then you suddenly see other things on this route, because you have time to look around, you can also look to the back or even more extreme is when you ride a bicycle or walk on foot. Then you suddenly see things that you had not seen before. Or when we took the Lotzis in the summer with us to the beach camp in Italy, the Tinis, then they sit in the tour bus and a tour bus drives 80 kmh or sometimes 100 kmh. If you sit in this tour bus, then you sit there and you have the feeling, wow, it's going slowly. Open the doors, let's walk alongside for a while. And you see things that otherwise, when you drive past at 180 kmh, you have only seen it briefly out of the corner of your eye, you have to look at it somehow, because you were just overtaking and so with the tour bus. You have the feeling, 3, 4 minutes you drive past a building and you can look at everything, you could get out and look at something and so on. Or some people also have that with films. When you watch a film multiple times, that you then suddenly discover things in that film that hadn't previously caught your attention. With me it's different. I fundamentally forget films after I've watched them. That has always been the case. When we were at the cinema with friends, the people I was at the cinema with would then talk about the film we had just watched and then catch up with the film afterwards. I had a good time, I understood everything, I laughed or cried, depending on what was appropriate, what the film wanted from me. But I somehow had absolutely no capacity to store that and then also talk about it. When people come up to me and want to tell me about a film afterwards, that's where it stops in my brain, that's like a hole, if you want to tell me about a film afterwards, that simply doesn't work. There is only one single film that I deliberately and consciously watch multiple times and also know that I've already watched it. Yes, I could ask myself later what that film is. Yes, two people have asked. So, look at Dachen in the Bible. Ask God for a perspective, for a passenger perspective, for a walking perspective, for a divine perspective and the perspective here in this horse that I just read to you, that should be about the Kingdom of God first, the word is first. That's what stands there first. That doesn't mean only about the Kingdom of God, but also about the other things. It's important, but obviously it comes down to the order. The word first, is the word first also anchored in my Kingdom of God thinking? Or is the Kingdom of God a part of what I have and maybe comes in 3rd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th, or 6th place or something like that? Yes, this morning during Vision Time someone shared and I found that great. That was exactly what I meant with this, what this means here. Someone shared, I had this week, we have a Vision Time, where people can speak in free style, everyone is happy, everyone celebrates how great God is not only on Sunday but also between Sundays. And then someone shared, I had a job interview, but I wanted the job, I had wanted it so much, but I also prayed that God only gives me the job if that is also his will. If that is also his idea for my life, that is Kingdom of God thinking first. I trust you that something else comes and something else is better. And so often it simply doesn't stand in first place with us. Then there's what do I know, job, kids, family, car, hairstyle, clothing, then pet, something, yes, that then somehow stands there. And then it's like that, then we live our life and do something and try to then at some point wrap God's gift paper around it. But the Kingdom of God is exactly the other way around. The Kingdom of God is the gift and we are the paper around it. We are allowed to take our life and say, that is the Kingdom of God and that is something that not only looks good on the outside but is also sustainable on the inside. At our wedding back then we received a really nice cake as a gift from my former flatmate, Ulf. It was huge and I thought to myself, Ulf can bake, crazy, yes. And it looked really good, yes. And then he gave us the cake and he said, come on, let's eat a piece and so, then I cut into the cake and I found the cake in the foam cake. There was a gift hidden somewhere in it, you had to pull it apart, yes. And then you found gifts, that was mega fun, but it was just not a cake. The Kingdom is important that it stands in first place. And sometimes we don't put it in first place and then we wrestle with God, yes God, why Does that not work? God, you did say, do this, do that. And the answer from God is, where am I standing right now? Am I at the very top? Or am I now the 15th or something like that? You have mixed up the order. Or we have mixed up the order. That happens to me too. Order means, kingdom first means, King, what do you want from me today? King, what can I do for you? Holy Spirit, what may I give you today? What do you give me back? What are your tasks for me? Holy Spirit, I would like it to be like this, but if you want it differently, yes, then I end that. Then I put you in first place. And that is sometimes really hard. But that is why it is good when you have a church. That is why it is good when you are just looking for a church or when you are not looking for a church at all, because you did not even know that you can go to church every week. Yes, you can. From next week you can go to church every week. And that is so brilliant and genius, what Jesus came up with there. Because together we help each other to put God's kingdom in first place, because it makes a difference in our heart. And the kingdom, that already started very early. I will take you in here and into a Bible passage that is right at the beginning of the Bible. And in this Bible passage, I will give you the context briefly, God has just created the earth and still has an idea for it, namely to make humans. So, God spoke. Let us make humans. God speaks of himself in the plural, because God is Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit, that is what God has. Let us make humans, in our image, in our likeness. And now here it comes. They shall rule over the fish in the sea. I will read that again. Let us make humans, in our image. Yes, we are an image of God. We are like God. And that means, we humans are to rule over the fish in the sea. Over the birds in the sky, over the land animals, over the whole earth and everything that crawls on it. God says, I make humans in my image and an image includes ruling. Is that not crazy, the kingdom already right at the beginning? Rule over the whole earth, because God is the King. God is the King and he gives a part of his power to us. He has put the royal rule from the beginning into us humans. And our task is now, if we have forgotten what being in the image of God means, to take up that place again. We are the image of God. We are made to rule. It is in our DNA, but we so often do not live it at all. And I wish that in this year, where it is about New Heights in our church, that God lets something grow, that we did not only receive this seed planted in us. Yes, that God did not only say, I made you to rule. But that it also grows and blooms. And that it is something that begins to live in us, that is in us, that perhaps has never been watered. And we are at a beginning, it has been planted in our life. What now? That is a crazy thing now. And if you are now in some situation where you say, I am me, I cannot rule yet at all. I do not know at all how that works. I cannot do anything anyway. I am not even sure if I want that at all. Because when we talk about ruling, ruling is not a nice word for us right now at first. Because we then think of dictators. We think that rule has something to do with that we do not do that. I keep a few slaves, yes, I exercise my power for my own advantage. That is what ruling means, I dominate others and press my will on them. But that is not the ruling that is meant in the Bible. Because Jesus was the absolute model of dominion. Jesus was the ruler who, as the Divine, reigned here on earth. And he had all the fruits of the Spirit in his life. Simultaneously, dominion. He used his dominion to spread love, joy, patience, kindness, and all these things on this earth. And that is what it means when God says, I want my image to reign. Jesus showed us what a divine ruler looks like, what dominion is in his sense. And God is the best King for us. And to reign means to make the world more divine. To rule means to implement his ideas and his things in this world. God is the King. We are not the owners, God owns everything. We are with the ruler, with the King. We are the managers or the stewards. We do not own it, but we set the rules. And the whole Bible is full of ideas and instructions and invitations from God with hints as to which rules and standards on this earth are in his sense. Which are sensible, which are good, which are positive for us humans, and which destroy us. And the whole Bible is full of ideas on how we can exercise and implement our dominion divinely and positively. And the goal is that we do that. God owns all finances, the goal is that we determine over them. God owns all relationships, the goal is that we live our relationships according to his ideas. God owns my children, his goal is that I am allowed to raise them. Dominion means establishing and introducing God's good, kingdom standard in your environment, and God says, it will not happen without you. I need you, because you are my image and I have placed in your DNA to spread this on this earth by ruling. Because God says, I ask in heaven, but I need my royal family on this earth to reign. He could have done it differently. But he sticks to what he has said. And that will also be my biggest question when I meet Jesus one day. Why didn't you do it alone? Just look at us. All wonderful people, but somehow we are all a few duds here. We are now in comparison to Jesus. No one is Jesus, no one has ever come close. If you disagree, let's meet in the Welcome Lounge. I want to learn from you. I want us to know this. God has said, I need you. God says to you, stop doubting. God says to you, stop naming your bad qualities to me. I know them, but I am there. Start, change your environment. It is so important that we simply start. Because God gives us things and God does not leave us alone. We say, God does this. God, start, let me change my environment. God says, change your environment, that is what you should do. God has said, I have given you. And sometimes God does not give us the things either, because he knows that it would destroy us. Sometimes we do not win the lottery, because he knows that we simply cannot deal with it. Sometimes God does not give you the job, because he knows that you cannot be available for volunteer work anymore. But God stands on the balcony of heaven and looks down. And says, I have given you everything. Start. I am the beginning and the end. I do not want to know what always is, what always will be. Just start. And then the question is, how do you start? And I am going to make this super practical now. Where should I start with my dominion? And the answer is, where you are. You rule where you are. You reign where you are. And I want to say this very clearly once more. God does not give us worldly dominion over other people now. God does not give you power to push other people down. But God seeks governing partners. God seeks people who take their dominion seriously. So that other people can get to know him. So that he can expand his kingdom from your can transplant hearts out into the hearts of other people. So that his kingdom is expanded. And it is about someone living their best life. It is not about the fact that God already owns everything anyway. For him it is not important at all what is happening with people. But it is important for people to meet Jesus Christ. So that they can live their best life. And we have been equipped and called for this. And God's story with us humans is that his kingdom is expanded through you into the hearts of other people. That is the goal. We sometimes think the goal is to be in heaven at the end. That is perhaps a side goal. Some people have it like that, yes, let's just hold on here on earth, have some kind of miserable life. And at the end, we are with God and then we celebrate. Then it is somehow really a party. Then we are finally on the side of the good guys. But that is not the reason why we are on earth. The reason why we are on earth is, we have been placed here by the King who is in heaven. And do not misunderstand me. It is also a goal that at the end you are with Jesus and spend time with him. But we are already citizens of heaven. We are citizens of heaven. So we have a divine passport, a heavenly passport. Heaven is my home. Heaven is holy. Heaven belongs to God. Heaven is the headquarters from which the King rules and commissions us. Paulus says it, but our citizenship is in heaven, where Jesus Christ the Lord lives. We have seen, eagerly looking for him, for the return of our Redeemer. God dwells in heaven, God rules in heaven and he has given us the earth as our domain. He has ceded it to us and said, I would like you to rule there. I would like you, my followers, to bring the standards of the divine kingdom of God from heaven to earth. But we are not just his people, we are not simply just citizens of this earth, but we are even more. We do not just have a passport, but we have a diplomatic passport. We are ambassadors on this earth.

Also, schau dir mal Dachen in der Bibel an. Reihenfolge heißt, Königreich zuerst heißt, König, was willst du von mir heute? König, was kann ich für dich tun? Halliga Geist, was darf ich dir heute geben? Was gibst du mir zurück? Also, das sprach Gott. Lasst uns Menschen machen. Was nun? Guck uns doch mal an. Fang an, verändere dein Umfeld. Fangt an. Ich bin der Anfang und das Ende. Ich will nicht wissen, was immer ist, was immer sein wird. Fang einfach an.
