Islamic culture is not produced by individual ritual acts, but through the active realization of universal values such as justice, compassion, knowledge, and good character in social life.
Our Islamic culture is based on universal values such as justice, compassion, knowledge, wisdom, and good character.
The text defines Islamic culture as a totality that goes beyond individual prayers and is based on universal values such as justice, compassion, knowledge, and good character. It argues that human beings, as social creatures, experience their greatest trials in communal life and can promote inner peace and the well-being of humanity through these values. Justice is named as the foundation, which creates peace and trust and requires speaking the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. Compassion is presented as a supporting pillar, which is expressed in care for orphans, the needy, and the elderly. The significance of knowledge is underscored by the first revealed command, 'Read!' and by the historical role of Muslims in the preservation of knowledge. Good character, consisting of sincerity, patience, and humility, is described as the core of the culture, which matures the individual. The text concludes with a call to Muslims to actively live and transmit these values in order to embody a living Islamic culture.

Dear Muslims!
Man is the noblest of all creatures and by nature a social being. It is precisely in communal life that he encounters his greatest trials. The Quran states: “Mankind was one single community, then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners, and He sent down the Scripture with the truth along with them, that they might judge among the people in that over which they differed.” [1] Islam consists not only of individual acts of worship (Ibadas), but seeks to foster a culture that promotes inner peace and the happiness of humanity. Our Islamic culture is based on universal values such as justice, compassion, knowledge, wisdom, and good character. Our culture views the human being in a holistic manner. Both physical well-being and spiritual well-being are taken into account.
Justice is the foundation of our culture. The Quran states: “Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives. And He forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.” [2] Peace and trust arise where justice is practiced. Therefore, the Muslim should not hesitate to speak the truth—even when it goes against himself.
Beloved brothers and sisters!
Compassion is one of the main pillars of Islamic culture. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He who does not show mercy to others will not be shown mercy.” [3] Compassion means caring for orphans. It means standing up for those in need. It means treating the elderly with respect, the young with love, and all creatures with affection. As long as we do not fill our hearts with compassion, there can be no Islamic culture.
Islam is also a culture of knowledge. The first revelation began with the command “Read!” This clearly shows the high status that knowledge holds in our religion. Throughout history, Muslims have made great efforts on the path of knowledge and wisdom. They have left behind works that have illuminated the path for humanity. Our task today is to devote ourselves to knowledge. We should learn and apply what we have learned in life.
Dear Muslims!
Good character is the core of Islamic culture. Values such as sincerity, patience, forbearance, and humility help the individual mature and strengthen society. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “I was sent to perfect good character.”
Let us not forget: Islamic culture will only become visible when we live, transmit, and preserve these values. Come, and let us become true Muslims who judge justly and act with compassion; Muslims who turn to knowledge and live with good character—Muslims in whose character Islamic culture comes alive. May Allah keep us steadfast on this path. Amen!

Verehrte Muslime!
Amin!
