The Qur'an is the highest divine grace, whose verses, with their call to the believers, establish an immediate obligation to ethical and spiritual conduct that goes beyond mere knowledge.
We should take each and every one of its verses into our lives as if they were speaking directly to us. For in it there are instructions that directly concern the believing people.
The text is a Friday sermon of the DITIB that describes the Qur'an as the greatest divine grace and a guide for daily life. The focus is on the approximately one hundred verses that begin with the call 'O you who believe!', which call on the believers to concrete action. Nineteen specific verses are cited that include ethical, social, and spiritual duties such as patience, justice, renouncing interest and alcohol, and mutual consideration. The sermon admonishes the congregation not only to know these commandments but to put them into practice in order to find salvation in this world and the hereafter. A central motif is the warning that wealth and children can displace faith. The text concludes with a prayer that asks for the ability to live according to the example of the Prophet and to die as a Muslim. There is no explicit reference to current political events, but a focus on the timeless application of the Scripture.

O you who believe!
(19.09.2025)
The greatest grace that our exalted Lord has sent to us, His servants, is undoubtedly the Noble Qur’an. The Qur’an was revealed so that it may be read, understood, and—what is even more important—lived in accordance with its commands. We should incorporate each of its verses into our lives as if they were speaking directly to us. For within it are instructions that directly concern the believing people. In the Qur’an there are approximately one hundred verses that begin with the call: “Yâ eyyuhellezîne âmenû – O you who believe!” These verses call upon the believers: “If you are truly sincere in your profession of faith, then act in accordance with these verses!”
Beloved Believers!
Let us therefore together hear the clear call of our Lord to the believers and firmly resolve to bring the commands of these verses into our lives:
“Believers! Seek help in patience and in prayer!1 Believers! If you serve Allah, then eat from the good things that We have given you, and be grateful to Allah!2 Believers! Bow down, prostrate yourselves, serve your Lord; and if you wish to be saved, do good that benefits you in this world and the Hereafter!3 Believers! Do not consume the wealth of others in an unlawful manner, except through mutually agreed trade!4 Believers! Stay away from usury!5 Believers! Uphold justice, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your relatives, and be those who bear witness for Allah!6 Believers! Give from what Allah has bestowed upon you in His cause, before the day comes when there will be no trade, no friendship, and no intercession!7 Believers! Wine, gambling, idol stones, and divination arrows are an abomination from Satan’s work—avoid them, so that you may be saved!8 Believers! Fear Allah and be with the truthful!9 Believers! Do not let your wealth and your children cause you to forget Allah!10 Believers! If a sinner brings you an important message, then verify its truth, so that you do not harm others out of ignorance and later feel remorse!11 Believers! Do not mock one another! (…) Do not belittle one another, do not give each other bad nicknames!12 Believers! Avoid conjecture that has no solid basis! (…) Do not spy, do not speak ill of one another behind their backs!13 Believers! Fulfill your responsibilities!14 Protect yourselves and your families from the Fire, whose fuel is people and stones.15 Believers! Return to Allah in sincere repentance!16 Never say something that you will not do!17 Believers! If Allah and His Messenger call you to that which gives you life, then follow this call!18 Believers! Fear Allah as it is His due, and do not die except as Muslims!19
May our Lord count us among those who die as Muslims. May He make us those who testify to their faith not only with words, but also with deeds! May He never separate us from the Qur’an and enable us to live according to the beautiful example of our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.)!20 (Amin)

Oh ihr, die ihr glaubt!
(19.09.2025)
