True justice in Islam requires leaving the position of safety and actively bearing the consequences of standing up against injustice, which is illustrated by Musa's development from palace dweller to fugitive righteous man.

Islam is not a palace religion. Islam is not a religion of the powerful. And simply we have to make sure that everything stays cool and we have to make sure that we stay calm and nothing happens. the religion that the religion of Islam is, when the opportunity is given, that we also set justice in the world, not just sit in a palace in safety

The lecture deals with the biblical-Quranic narrative of Musa (Moses) in Egypt, in particular the moment in which he asks for forgiveness after an unintentional killing. The speaker interprets this plea not as a confession of sin, but as an expression of the constant return to Allah and the dependence on his grace. A central point is Musa's development from privileged palace dweller to active defender of justice, who is willing to bear personal consequences for injustice. The text emphasizes that true justice is not practiced in the safe palace, but where one suffers for it. Using the example of the second conflict, the speaker shows how Musa recognizes and names the willingness to use violence of an Israelite, which leads to the discovery of his own deed and to flight. The sermon uses this narrative to encourage the listeners to actively uphold justice and not remain in passive safety. A contrast is drawn between the 'palace religion' of the powerful and the Islamic mandate for active justice.

Imagine you are Musa with a wife and a few children, and you are told, go to Pharaoh and solve this problem. Women, the man who has issued an arrest warrant against you, the man who wants to see you dead, the man who has managed to kill every son that is born. And Allah says, go to him. What did then Musa Alam Quran, what we say before every lecture? He said: "My Lord, expand my chest and make my affair easy for me and untie the knot from my tongue. I do not know how to speak to Pharaoh. Women is not little. How should I speak to Women? So that they understand my words. That is why we say, when I am facing the exam, the final exam, I recite this. Allah gave this to Musa so that he could speak to Pharaoh. So your homeroom teacher is not Pharaoh. Your professor is not Pharaoh. It will be fine, no worry. Bismillah. Rabbi ishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri wa hallul aqdata min lisanin yafqahu qawli Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin khatamin nabiyyina wa ala ahl baytihi at-tayyibin at-tahirin wa ala ashabihi al-ghurri al-miyamin wa la'ana Allahun ala a'daihim ajma'in Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa al Mohammedam alumah my dear brothers and my dear sisters. May Allah inshallah grant you a blessed Friday. I look forward to seeing you all and I am happy inshallah that we can continue the series on Nabi Musa al inshallah with the second part today. So that we have a bit of context where we left off, it was there where the two had a fight, the Israelite and the Egyptian. Nabi Musa Alhi Salam intervened. The Egyptian unfortunately passed away, which was not the intention of Musa Alh. And now Nabi Musa is of course in great danger, if Pharaoh finds out about this, it will be very dangerous, because it will then mean that Nabi Musa was always someone who stood on the side of the Israelites to act against the Egyptians. So he was not really loyal. If he had really been loyal, he would not have done that. Now we are at the point, my dear brothers and sisters, where Musa Alam says to the Israelite: "Go home and hide. Hide so that nothing of this problem befalls you." He himself, Musa Alhiam, had no place where he could have hidden. So he rushed through the alleys: "Nothing, looking somewhere for a place where he can stay." And then he found a hidden place where he stayed for the night. And at this place, my dear brothers and sisters, the following verse comes about. He said, so Musa said: "My Lord, I have wronged myself, so forgive me." So He forgave him, for He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. Okay, pay close attention now to this word choice. What did Nabi Musa Alhiam commit that he asks Allah for forgiveness? His question or? Yes, with Adam Alam at least a little understood, there was something with the tree and so on. But what has Musa al Salam done now? And this is the ultimate proof, my dear brothers and sisters. When the prophets or the imams ask for forgiveness or do tawbah, it does not mean that they have committed sins for which they then ask for forgiveness. No, it means that they keep returning to Allah again and again. In every life situation they are in, they return to Allah. And Nabi Musa was in a very difficult situation, a very unpleasant situation, and then he says: "Yes, Allah, I have wronged myself." But what wrong, what sin did he commit? Did he intentionally attack the man to kill him? No. That means, it shows that the prophets keep returning to Allah again and again. For them, tawbah is also important. Just not in the sense that they have committed a sin from which they return, but in the sense that I keep returning to Allah again and again, because He is the source of my sustenance, the source of my provision, and the source of my salvation. Next verse, verse 17. The writing is so small. He he said: "My Lord, on account of the favor You have bestowed upon me, I will never again be an ally to the wrongdoers." My dear brothers and sisters, this passage is a central moment in the story of Nabi Musa, about which very few people reflect. Musa Alaihissalam has logically always been a symbol of justice. Or have you ever seen any injustice from him? He was always a pure person, always a wise person, a knowledgeable person, but he was theoretically only a symbol of justice. But not yet a practitioner of justice in the grand sense. Why? He lived comfortably in the palace of Pharaoh. He was provided for. He was doing well. He had not yet faced great situations in which his sense of justice would be tested. But now, my dear brothers and sisters, he faced a dispute between an Israelite and an Egyptian. And the Egyptian unjustly attacks him, and he mediates between the two and risks his important position, risks his position as the stepson of Pharaoh, to establish justice. Now this verse comes, where Musa Alaihissalam says, I do not want to give support to the unjust. That is to say, the Musa who lived in safety in the palace now becomes someone whom the roots of prophethood are slowly reaching. [clears throat] And this shows us, my dear brothers and sisters, that Islam is not a palace religion. Islam is not a religion of the powerful. And simply we must make sure that everything stays cool and we must make sure that we stay calm and nothing happens. The religion, the religion of Islam, is that when the opportunity is given, we also put justice into the world, not just sit in a palace in safety and we issue judgments, but no, that we also advocate this justice outwardly. And we as followers have always shown ourselves to be positively remarkable in history with regard to this point. Because justice only becomes great and significant when you must experience consequences for justice. It is easy, for example, I say it again with the palace, to sit in a palace and you hear two people arguing, say give this one so much right, give that one so much right, leave me alone. That is easy. But justice becomes interesting when you call for justice and yourself must experience the consequences of it. Who does this remind us of? But Ibrahim, he called to justice, but not from a palace in Medina or in Kufa and said, go ahead, right? He said, I call and I bear the consequences. An important pattern, my dear brothers and sisters. Musa now comes exactly into this story. Musa Alaihissalam covered his face and went at night to the same place where the deed had happened. And the authorities, my dear brothers and sisters, they are furiously searching right now for the culprit. Who was it? Who killed this Egyptian? You understand, I believe, not yet quite fully. You have not yet fully taken into your heart in this lecture series what kind of standing the Egyptians had. The Egyptians were the elite of society. An Egyptian who was simply killed, that was not just, that is like, imagine, from the royal family of a great country someone is simply killed. What happens then? And then even by one of the lowly people he is killed. That is not even a family matter among themselves, but really one of the lowest, one of the highest. That was such a thing. He went at night to the place again and what did he see? He saw the same Israelite again fighting against another Egyptian. Fight again. And then he said the following passage. Surah 28. Surah 28 verse 18. He said, in the morning he was in the city fearful and kept constantly looking around. Suddenly the one who had asked him for help the day before cried out to him for Help. The same type from yesterday calls Musa again and says: "Help me, help me, I'm again in a fight against an Egyptian." What did Musa Alam say? Musa said to him, you are obviously someone. Yes, something is not right with you. You are someone who is ready for violence. That is an important point. Musa Alam the day before had settled this dispute as a neutral man, not as I have to stand against the Israeli and I have to stand against this one and that one. No, he was simply I settle the dispute. The Egyptian seemed to have been unjust. I separate him from him and the story is over. That was the intention. Now he sees but the day after the Israelite gives himself again a fight with an Egyptian. What kind of man is that? That cannot be a coincidence, because he must really be someone who somehow has something wrong running in his head. So he also has a fault, the Israelite. And now look how complicated justice becomes now. Why? Because first of all justice was to say, I protect the man of my people who is currently unjustly by an Egyptian, because that was the initial situation. Follow that well. I see a man of my people who is being beaten unjustly by the high elites. I stand in between and bear the consequence that I accidentally killed one man. That was the first justice situation. Now justice becomes even more complicated. I stand between a man who already did something like that yesterday, so probably also a violent man, with an Egyptian who is also ready for violence. What do I do now? The situation becomes more complicated. But Musa Alhiam looked at this Israelite angrily and said, you are one who is ready for violence. There Musa wanted to go in between. He wanted to go in between again, as he had done before. What did this man then do, the Israelite? Because he was afraid that now Musa would somehow hit him, because he noticed, I think, Musa has exposed me. Yes, Musa has I think understood that I am not quite good. I am ready for violence, because I had a fight yesterday and today I have another fight. What did this man do? He said the following statement: "When he now wanted to seize the one with violence who was the enemy of both of them." So he wanted to go at the Egyptian again, so that he separates them. Said this one, who said that? The Israelite. Oh Musa. The Israelite comes now, while he goes at the Egyptian, because the Israelite suddenly is afraid of Musa. Oh Musa, he shouts it very loudly. Do you want to kill me, as you yesterday killed a human soul? You only want to be a violent person in the land and you do not want to belong to the peace-makers. So that every small child in Egypt also knows, Musa was the murderer yesterday. That was not the Egyptian, that was the Israelite. Why? Because the, because Musa Alam now did not simply say, regardless of whether that is now one of my people, it is one of my people, therefore I simply only go at the Egyptian and I have to I have to say nothing to my Israelite. No, he was just. He said, you, what you are doing, is wrong. You want violence again. And now he bore the double consequence, because the Israelite now shouted into the whole street what is happening here right now. And what then happened? Because it was now out, who the murderer is of the Egyptian. Musa Alam flees. Musa Alam must get out of Egypt as quickly as possible. And the Egyptian who was in the fight reported it directly to the authorities. He said, Musa, the son-in-law, the stepson of Pharaoh was the murderer of the Egyptian. For Pharaoh now all the pieces were together. I always had a strange eye on him, but I could not do anything, I could not do anything against him, because my wife loved him and somehow I also built a connection to him. But I always knew that he was not on our side. And for him, this was now a great confirmation. So he gathered all his advisors, Pharaoh, and issued an arrest warrant against Musa Alayhi as-Salam throughout all of Egypt, that he is wanted and must be killed. An arrest warrant with execution. And one of the advisors of Pharaoh was named Hiskil. And Hiskil, I do not mean the Prophet Hiskil who comes later at some point, it is a different Hiskil. He was one of those very close to Musa Alayhi as-Salam. He was indeed one of the advisors of Pharaoh, that is true, but he had great respect for Musa and held him in very high esteem, and he was concerned about his life. So Hiskil himself set out to somehow find Musa, to tell him, they are going to look for you, they are going to kill you. So flee. That is also why verse 8, Surah 28, verse 20. من اقصى المدينه and a man came running from the farthest end of the city. He ran, ran, ran. That was the advisor. He said: "O Musa, the leading group is plotting against you, that is the advisors, the Shabab, those who sit at the very top, to kill you. So depart, indeed, I am among those who give you good counsel." Yes, Musa has now fled from Egypt. He goes, he goes, he goes, and says in his prayer the following passage: So he departed from it fearfully, that is from Egypt, and kept looking back. He said: "My Lord, save me from the oppressive people." What a situation Musa Alayhi as-Salam is in, and he keeps moving further along the Nile, to flee from Egypt, and the city keeps disappearing further behind him, and he slowly, slowly approaches the direction of Madian. Madian, those who can still remember, Madian, because one cannot remember, that is fine, come back to it, because he knew that in Madian a Prophet of Allah resides. There is a Prophet who is in Madian, and then the following passage from the Quran comes. And when he turned toward Madian, he says, perhaps my Lord will guide me to the right path. Insha'Allah I will now arrive in Madian and I will experience something different than this brutality in Egypt. And he traveled and traveled, and people, you really have to imagine this journey as brutal, the one that Musa Alayhi as-Salam had. Terrible, a terrible journey. On the ninth day he stood up, because he had traveled at night and slept during the day, because traveling at night was in that case safer. On the ninth day he stood up due to the bleating of the sheep. He heard the sheep and he saw several flocks of sheep. Yes, he saw several flocks. And these flocks with their leaders of these flocks all competed to give the animals water. No, my sheep. No, my sheep. They all, so to speak, argued with each other about who could give the animals water. And he saw two young women. Musa Alayhi as-Salam saw two young women who were also there with their animals, but no water had been given to them. They were simply just standing there. And then Musa Alayhi as-Salam asked: "What is wrong with you? Why are you not giving your animals water?" So these women said that they did not want to do this in the presence of the men, because those are all men who are there and we do not want to give our animals water in their presence. We are waiting until they are gone and then insha'Allah we will give our animals water. Out of respect. Musa Alayhi as-Salam, please imagine this. He is on his ninth day of his journey. Flight from death, flight from murder, flight from being killed by Pharaoh, an arrest warrant throughout all of Egypt. What does he say when he arrives? I will do this for you. He takes the flocks of sheep. Please people, this task is not simple, taking entire flocks of sheep and giving them water, that is no small thing. He took these flocks of sheep and did everything, and he gave them water, and he gave them water, and he was so tired afterwards. He gave the animals back to the women, under a tree he collapsed. He collapsed. He does not get up anymore. That is enough, slowly now. Yes. And as he was in that very moment of collapsing, he said, so he watered their animals for them, says the Quran. Thereupon he withdrew into the shade and said: "My Lord, yes, or I read in Arabic, because that is so beautiful in Arabic this passage." So said Musa Alam, my Lord, I am in need of that. I am poor, I am poor over that over what, whatever good you send down to me. speaks that also with Allah, says he sometimes in everything you have for me, I am anyway Fakir, I am anyway in need, what you have prepared for me, thank you very much, Jarab. Then the same two women came again sometime, when he had gotten up and said the following and it comes in the verse after, in verse 25. There came one of the two to him, one of these two women came to him and said, walking modestly before him, who was ashamed. She said: "My father calls you to pay you the reward for that you watered the animals for us." Do you understand the situation right now? That is, there comes this girl right now and says: "My father wants to give you money for that you watered our animals, yes, I want to reward you for that. And now the following comes. These women say, we show ourselves, we show you the way to our house, where our father is, so that he gives you the reward. We walk ahead, just follow us. Yes, Moses said, I cannot. I will not follow you. If it is possible, you can follow me, because it is not proper. I come from a people among whom we do not walk behind the women, so that we might look at them at an unfavorable point or yes have a shameful look. So we want to walk ahead of him and you lead me inshallah from behind. Now she arrived at the simple house and Musa Alhi Salam recognized immediately, when the door had been opened, that it was Shaib Salamah al directly. Shuaib was also called the orator of the prophets, because he was so eloquent. May Allah let our orators and our scholars, who give lectures, inshallah learn from Sch alam. Musa Alam reported to him of the journey. He has he has told him of everything that happened to him. And then he said, comes the Quran, he says, after he had come to him and reported the story to him, he said: "Fear not, you have escaped the unjust people." Sh Alam says now so, don't worry, you are now in safe hands. Then the two had a common meal and Musa Alh was brought into a small room, so that he could recover from his journey. And one of the daughters of Shuaib then made the following statement to Shuaib, to her father. He then said: "Oh Shuaib, my father, employ him, make him an employee for you. Make Musa into someone who works for you. Why the best person you can employ is someone who is strong and trustworthy, says the daughter to her father. There was already a bit so, wait, I understand my daughter, that you say that he is strong, because we have seen that he is strong. I mean, the man has been on the road for 9 days, has right away watered the animals, is a strong man, but how do you know that he is trustworthy? Then she said, as as when we wanted to accompany him to our house, he did not want us to walk ahead of him. He wanted that he walks ahead of us out of respect for us and our shame, that he is a trustworthy man. Musa alam this daughter, whose name was Safra at that point alam she said, please employ this man and Shuaib agreed to this whole thing. Al Salam he said, good, we employ him. There comes this story, is also told in the Quran. Many people do not know the context of the story, but we are making the context right now. He said Musa, I want you to marry one of my daughters. marry one of my two daughters with a condition. The short for this for this marriage, so that this Nikah can take place, because there is always a condition with them, which is that you work for me for 8 years. For 8 years you must work for me. And if you want, if it works out for you, you can also make it ten. But 8 years is mandatory. That means, if you have completed the eight, you are inshallah released from your obligation, but you can also make it ten. So, so the Quran describes it. And then he also says, I do not want to be harsh with you. You will see that I belong to the righteous before Allah. You will see that I will not torment you with these 8 years or give you catastrophic work, and I, I do not want that at all. The point of Shuaib was, he wanted Musa to be with him. It was not about making him a slave in work. It was about having him with him. He knew, with Shuaib Musa is safe. Not with Shuaib Musa is not safe. That is why he said, you stay here. Musa Alayhi Salam chose Safra and Safra, according to the tradition, is also the same woman. It is also a bit of a romantic part that we can still take into the story. That is the same woman who said at the very beginning, come with us and we will accompany. I will accompany you to th

Was sagte dann Musa Alam Koran, was wir vor jedem Vortrag sagen? Was passiert dann? Was sagte Musa Alam? Was mache ich jetzt? So fliehe. Deswegen auch Vers 8, Sure 28, Vers 20. من اقصى المدينه und es kam ein Mann vom äußersten Ende der Stadt gelaufen. Sh Alam sagt jetzt also, mach dir keine Sorgen, du bist jetzt in sicheren Händen.
