Identity is not a fixed core but a flowing process that can be recognized and shaped through self-observation and conscious life design.
There is no unchanging fixed core in us. You are a dynamic interplay of your body, your feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and your consciousness.
The text raises the question of identity and leads it through the Buddhist concept of the non-self doctrine (Anatta) into an understanding of person as a dynamic process of body, feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and consciousness. The speaker argues that identity does not lie in rigid characteristics, professions, certificates, or social profiles, but in self-observation and in the conscious experience of one's own being. An anecdote from everyday life illustrates how societal attributions of authority based on formal qualifications influence trust in personal advice. The text encourages the listeners to meet themselves with respect, to recognize their own patterns, and to actively shape their own lives. It is emphasized that no one is obliged to follow the suggestions, but that everyone has the free will to create their own life. The text closes with a call for self-reflection and for contact through the speaker's homepage.

Welcome to Buddhism in Everyday Life, the podcast all about the topic of Buddhism, the audio format for those who are interested and those who feel drawn to the teaching of the Great Teacher. Who am I? Perhaps you have never asked yourself that question, or perhaps you have asked it many times before. Who are you? I ask you. What makes you who you are? Where are your strengths and where are your weaknesses? Perhaps you are taciturn, finding it difficult to make up your mind? Yet you love serving other people when they visit. Is that truly and genuinely who you are? Or is it a program, like an app on which you can only ever play one game? Although on a different level, nothing changes. Perhaps you still know the game Moahun, which is known as a PC game. It will always only be about Moahuners and never about driving cars around a city. Perhaps you identify yourself through an Instagram account or a LinkedIn profile. Perhaps you identify yourself through your posts or a resume that somehow came about. School XY, profession XY, further education XY, so that you can tell another person who you are. Butter might say, my dear human, you are not a rigid product, but a flowing process. Butter would remind us of the concept of Anatta, the non-self. There is no unchanging, fixed core within us. You are a dynamic interplay of your body, your feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and your consciousness. Everything about it changes, every second. To try to press this fluid something into a fixed identity is like trying to hold a wave in the ocean. An anecdote from my life. I became aware early on that the society in which I live is built on identification. That a piece of paper makes me valuable. A certificate, an award, a medal. One day, when I was still living in Vienna, my then-girlfriend and I greeted the caretaker in the courtyard. My friend asked how her daughter was doing, who is so sick. The caretaker described the situation. I asked her if they had already done this or that, because as far as I know, that leads to success. She looked at me in complete astonishment and surprise, asking me where I got this knowledge from, and what was even more important, she asked me, what do you do for a living? Of course, I told the truth here, that I work for a construction company and that my knowledge comes from numerous courses, seminars, reflecting, observing myself in meditation, receiving in silence, and reading scientific studies about the body. The essence is, she never spoke to us again about her daughter, because she had never heard what I just said from a person in a white coat. Some people need identification through a slip of paper. But to find out who you are, you only need to observe yourself. Do you want this body you are in now, as it is, or is it too fat or too thin for you? Either way, you are the creator. Is your immune system too weak for you? You are the creator. Is your awareness of yourself too little? You are the creator, if you want to attain a higher consciousness. Ah, if you want to be Zama, then stand next to yourself in conversation and observe yourself. How do you react? What is your gesture, your facial expression? What do you feel within you? Distrust, rejection. What do you want to experience in your life? Feel free to also ask yourself the question, what would my perfect day look like, in order to recognize hidden patterns or longings. Do you have to do anything of what I am telling you here? No, definitely not. You have been given free will to lead the life you create for yourself. Or have you let yourself be created, as a good housewife, a good mother, a hardworking husband, or also a drunkard in the Bespodenbesucher, who talks about everything and everyone
something white and drives your own life against the wall. You are the one who creates the miracle in your life. If you wish to find yourself, meet yourself, your body, your mind, your personality with exactly the same respect that you give to others. If this topic interests you more deeply and you want to move forward in your life, I suggest that you visit me on my homepage at www.reinergeist.com. Perhaps you have the courage to contact me, either by email or via one of the numerous social media channels, a word from me. At this point, I wish you much success in reflecting on your life, all my love, be blessed, and until next week, your Rainer.

Was macht dich aus? Sie fragte mich, was machst du denn beruflich? Was spürst du in dir? Mistrauen, Ablehnung. Was willst du in deinem Leben erleben?
