Dementia does not arise primarily from the natural aging of the brain, but from wrong thinking and clinging to the past or the future; it can be prevented through mental activity and focus on the present.
The more we use our brain, the healthier it becomes. Therefore, we can even prevent ourselves from becoming senile.
The text is a podcast episode that reads and comments on a Daily Reminder by the Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh (referred to in the text as 'Supreme Matriarch'). The central message is that the brain becomes healthier through regular use and does not inevitably decline with age. Fear of aging and death is presented as an obstacle; instead, it is recommended to live each day sincerely and to focus on the present. Dementia is attributed not primarily to a declining memory, but to wrong thinking and clinging to the past or the future. As countermeasures, repeating a mantra, sincere work, and an appreciative, compassionate mind are mentioned. The Buddhist figures Quan Am and Muni Buddha are described as maternal and paternal role models of care. The speaker concludes by inviting listeners to an online temple of the Junvasanga to discuss the Daily Reminder together.

Hello, welcome. I am very happy that you are here for the podcast Compassionate Buddha, your podcast for Love and World Peace. I am Denia Rositzki with the dharma name Gakdok. I am the Abbess of the Junga Meditation Center Hamburg Junga Dama Sa, the Junga Sanghar on World Social Buddhism. In this episode, you will hear a daily reminder from Supreme Matriarch Ich die Quang de Popsen im, the more we use our brain. How old we are is not so important. Enjoy. Daily fragrance of the Lotus Flower by Gikwang de Popsen im. 12.091. July 2025 Lotus Buddhist Monastery When we get older, we have all kinds of fears, as we do not know how long we will live. Instead of doubting how long we will live, we can transform such thinking into thoughts, wanting to live sincerely every day. Having such thoughts makes our mind pleasant and our precious life will consequently be much better. How old we are is not so important. If we carry out our work sincerely, we can work much better each individual day by continuously striving and researching. The more diligent our efforts are, the clearer our brain becomes and the old cells become healthier. As a result, we can even have better thinking than we had when we were young. Moreover, we can keenly understand what we had not thought about before, which leads to many good ideas. Thus, those around us are much more surprised. Human brain cells are much better than other parts of the body. Therefore, it is now said that the human brain does not age. If we think our thoughts are determined by aging, we become lazy through such false notions. Doing this blocks the function of our brain. Therefore, senility does not occur because our memory declines, but much more because false thinking blocks our own brain and prevents it from functioning healthily. The more we use our brain, the healthier it becomes. Therefore, we can even prevent becoming senile. Problems of senility arise when our mind gets stuck in the past or the future. The effects of senility can be extremely frightening. If we sincerely think about the present, then no irrelevant or nonsensical thinking can penetrate our brain. To do this, we must sincerely repeat the mantra and carry out our work with all our hearts. Therefore, even our thinking becomes healthy and this brings happiness into our own life. It is important not to worry. We should instead have the mind to appreciate all value. With this appreciative mind, we can, even if some negative actions are carried out, understand those who carried them out. It is important not to worry. We should instead have the mind to appreciate all value. With this appreciative mind, we can, even if some negative actions are carried out, understand those who carried them out. Thus, we are able to accept others and our mind becomes a true, compassionate mind. The mind of Quanz-Umbossal is exactly like that of a mother. She cares for all and protects all by making all our wishes come true. Even Munibuda is exactly like a wise father who always guides his children in the correct direction. Zhonggakmeopropion Vaqyong is the excellent power of the universe. This power is still full of such energy and makes life shine much more. Thank you, da Popsanum. Thank you very much, da Popsanum. Thank you for listening and thank you, Supreme Matriarch, die Quang de Popsanum. Yes, I find it quite remarkable that the more we use our brain, the healthier it becomes. So it is like a muscle that one trains. And what I also find very important in
What I take away from this Daily Reminder is that it is always good to be in the present and to focus one’s thoughts on the present, rather than getting too stuck in the past or in the future, that is, with fears concerning the future or depressions concerning the past, so that one does not get so stuck, but instead focuses on the present, on the here and now, and that this prevents one from becoming more sinister, and then also with a positive, relaxed mind that does not complain so much, as we read or heard in one of, or in the last Daily Reminder. Yes, I find that interesting too. With this, I would like to warmly invite you to the Online Temple of the Junvasanga. We discuss the Daily Reminder of the current podcast episode on Thursday from 7:30 to 8:00 PM. You will get the link at junvasanga.eu. Online Temple. I look forward to seeing you. All my love, Habcang, your GagDog.

Hallo, herzlich willkommen. Ich freue mich sehr, dass du da bist beim Podcast Compassionate Buddha, dein Podcast for Love and World Peace. Enjoy. Daily fragrance of the Lotus Flower by Gikwang de Popsen im. 12.091. Thank you very much, da Popsanum. Online-Tempel. Ich freue mich auf dich. Alles Liebe, Habcang, deine GagDog.
