The Hatred of the Rafidis and the Victory of Allah for His Friends
As for what follows: I exhort you, O people, and myself to the fear of Allah. [Allah says:] “O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will provide for you a criterion [to distinguish right from wrong] and remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great favor. And [remember] when those who disbelieved plotted [against you] to either pin you down or kill you or expel you. And they plot, but Allah plots. And Allah is the best of planners.” [Al-Anfal: 29-30]
O Muslims, when our scholars, both past and present, clarify the wickedness of a group or the deviation of a sect, and warn against them because they have strayed from the clear truth and followed a path other than that of the believers, they are merely stating this based on knowledge, insight, and understanding of what has come in the Book and the Sunnah, along with a vision confirmed by the experiences that people have undergone over the course of time, and supported by the events recorded and established by historians. And the report of the division and splitting of the Ummah into seventy-two sects is a true report without doubt. And what the Truthful and Trusted, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned has occurred, so many misguided sects emerged in the Ummah, such as the Khawarij, who were the first to break away from the community. From them came what came, including the killing of the Caliph, the Possessor of the Two Lights, Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him. Then followed that what followed in terms of fitnas (tribulations) that did not subside except after the shedding of blood, division, and the scattering of opinions. And among the consequences of that is that a wicked sect appeared after them, which has remained since the emergence of the state of the Banu Umayya until this day, openly and secretly bearing hostility towards the people of the Sunnah, weaving conspiracy after conspiracy against them, igniting the fuse of wars and setting their fire ablaze, and openly supporting the enemies of Islam against the Muslims.
They are the Rafidis who have displayed their love for the Ahl al-Bayt (People of the House), but they have exaggerated in their regard until they deified them besides Allah, and they have gone to extremes in claiming their love and seeking revenge for them, so they have thereby become a thorn in the throats of the servants of Allah. And they have never hesitated, at any time, from cooperating with the disbelievers against the Muslims from the people of the Sunnah.
And in everything they do, they proceed from their corrupt creed, for they declare as disbelievers the best of creation after the Prophet of Allah, beginning with Abu Bakr and Umar, and generalizing to the Muhajireen and the Ansar, from whom they have stripped all of them of justice, and they have cursed and denounced and declared them disbelievers, thereby contradicting the Book of Allah, in which it is explicitly stated that Allah is pleased with the Companions of His Messenger... And those Rafidis, throughout history, have named their school of thought the "School of the Majority" (Madhab al-Jumhur), and they consider that it is not permissible to marry the other Muslims from the people of the Sunnah, nor to eat their slaughtered animals. Rather, they consider that their disbelief is more severe than the disbelief of the Jews and the Christians; because the Jews and the Christians, in their view, are original disbelievers, while the Companions and those who came after them and followed them are, in their view, apostates... And for this reason, they have deemed the blood of Muslims lawful, and they have assisted the disbelievers against them and supported them; thus they facilitated the entry of the Tatars into the lands of Islam, so they killed the Caliph and brought about the end of the Abbasid state. Then they have continued to wreak havoc in the lands of the Muslims in Sham (Syria) and elsewhere.
Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "And the Rafidis love the Tatars and their state; because they obtain through them a status of honor that they do not obtain through the state of the Muslims. And the Rafidis are helpers to the polytheists, Jews, and Christians in fighting the Muslims. And they were among the greatest causes for the entry of the Tatars, before their Islam, into the land of Mashriq in Khurasan, Iraq, and Sham. And they were the greatest of people in assisting them in taking the lands of Islam, killing the Muslims, and enslaving their women. And the case of Ibn al-Alqami and his like with the Caliph, and their case in Aleppo with the ruler of Aleppo, is famous and known to the general public..."
And he, may Allah have mercy on him, also said: “Many of them – meaning the Rafidah – love the disbelievers from the depths of their hearts more than they love the Muslims. Therefore, when the disbelieving Turks came from the East and killed the Muslims and shed their blood in the lands of Khorasan, Iraq, Sham, the Arabian Peninsula, and others, the Rafidah assisted them against the Muslims, and so did those who were in Sham, Aleppo, and other places… until he said: ‘Thus, they are always allied with the disbelievers, namely the polytheists, Jews, and Christians, and they assist them in fighting the Muslims and opposing them.’ His words ended there.”
Among what history has recorded regarding the enmity of the Rafidah towards the Muslims is what occurred under the Rafidi state of the Ubaydids, which was established in Egypt and parts of North Africa, and who falsely and deceitfully called themselves the Fatimids. They killed the scholars, imprisoned them, and afflicted them; they spread innovations, and newly invented practices appeared during their era.
Among those whose treachery and enmity history has recorded are the Qaramita Batiniyyun, one of whose leaders entered the Sacred House while people were performing Tawaf. He killed the pilgrims and threw their corpses into the Well of Zamzam, and he stole the Black Stone, taking it with him for more than twenty years until Allah restored it to its place. Similarly, the Rafidah have continued to target the Sacred House and the pilgrims until our time. What they did forty years ago, for several consecutive years, of harming the pilgrims and making Hajj a season for raising their misleading slogans, and attempting to cause corruption, disorder, and mischief in the sacred sites – all of this is known by many of us who lived through that time and witnessed what those impure ones did. Today, we see them targeting the state of Islam and the Sunnah, threatening, promising, and lashing out, and executing the plans of the disbelievers to tighten the grip on the people of Islam. They have even targeted the Two Sacred Sanctuaries with their failed explosions, but Allah, the Exalted, will frustrate their efforts, and the rulers of this land and the soldiers of truth are watching them. And Allah is dominant over His affair, but most people do not know. So fear Allah, O Muslims, by adhering to the Book and the Sunnah, uniting your word, obeying the rulers, and beware, beware, of rumors, or believing in panic-mongering, or transmitting the words of those who spread panic, or being deceived by the words of those who claim to reconcile between the people of the Sunnah and the followers of misguided methodologies. For there is no unity between those whose guide is the Book and the Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf of the Ummah, and those who have gone astray, distanced themselves, been tested with desires, opened the door to evils for themselves, and mixed truth with falsehood. As for the Two Sanctuaries, they are in safety, and whoever targets them with ill intent, Allah will destroy him and disgrace him. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan: “Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the companions of the Elephant? Did He not make their plan in vain? And He sent against them birds in flocks, striking them with stones of baked clay, so He made them like eaten straw” [Surah Al-Fil: 1-5].
The Second Khutbah
As for what follows, fear Allah, the Exalted, and obey Him. Know that the Rafidah are among the most stubborn enemies of Islam and the People of the Sunnah. What they have done in the past and the present is a witness to that. The state of Iraq today, what has happened in Sham, and what is currently happening in Yemen—all of this testifies that they are a Jewish fabrication and a malicious, hidden Baatinist infiltration. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “Indeed, the one who innovated Rafd was a Jew who displayed Islam out of hypocrisy. He infiltrated the ignorant with infiltrations that cast doubt upon the foundation of the religion. Therefore, Rafd is the greatest of the gates of hypocrisy and Zindiqism. Therefore, the leaders of the Zindiqs from the Ismailis and the Nusayris, and their types from the Qarmatians and the Baatinis and the Druze, and their like from the sects of Zindiqism and hypocrisy, joined the Rafidah.”
And he said, may Allah have mercy on him: “Let every rational person look at what happens in his time and what is close to his time of fitnas, evils, and corruption in Islam. He will find that most of it comes from the Rafidah, and he will find them to be among the greatest of people in fitna and evil.”
Yes, O Muslims, these are the Rafidah. Their arrows are aimed at the People of the Sunnah, even if they say or claim otherwise in their false public statements. As for those who stand guard at our borders and frontiers from the men of security, and their brothers who stay awake to preserve internal security, they are in jihad and ribat as long as they stay awake to protect their lands, their sanctities, and their brothers. They have honor, elevation, and nobility by that, as long as they are sincere to Allah, steadfast in His obedience, and abstain from His sins. He, may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said: “Standing guard for a day and a night is better than fasting a month and standing in prayer during it. And if he dies, his deed that he used to do continues for him, his provision is provided for him, and he is safe from the tester.” Muslim narrated it.
And he, may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said: “Two eyes will not be touched by the Fire: an eye that wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye that spent the night guarding in the cause of Allah.” Al-Tirmidhi narrated it, and Al-Albani authenticated it.
So, O Allah, our Lord and our Master, grant success to our rulers, support our soldiers, and steady the feet of our guards. Repel from the land of Islam and the Sunnah the schemes of the schemers and the stratagems of the enemies of the religion. O Allah, destroy the disbelieving atheists and the hateful, transgressing Rafidah from the Jews and the Crusader Christians. O Allah, count them one by one, kill them utterly, and leave none of them behind. O Allah, do not raise a banner for the enemies of Islam, and do not let them reach their goal. Make them a lesson and a sign for those who come after them.
