The war against the Iranian mullah regime is a legitimate act of liberation that is falsely portrayed by the German public and political class, due to their own geopolitical interests and propaganda strategies, as an aggression against the Iranian people.

It was and is a war against the mullahs' regime. That is why we celebrate this war. We do not like war. I myself grew up in Iran during a war. The Iran-Iraq War, because Saddam Hussein had bombed the country. I know what war means. I know how terrible a war can be. But I know exactly how terrible it can be when you are held hostage for over 40 years.

The text is an excerpt from a podcast in which Iman Sefati, an Iranian living in exile and an employee of the World, presents his view on the conflict between Israel/USA and the Iranian regime. He argues that the mullah regime is the true aggressor and that the war against this regime should be understood as an act of liberation, not as an attack on the Iranian people. Sefati sharply criticizes German politics and the media, which he says have supported the regime economically and politically while ignoring the victims of repression in Iran. He reports on the joy in Iran and in the exile over the killing of the Supreme Leader Khamenei and sees in this a step toward democracy. The text clearly distances itself from left-wing activists, whose strategies he considers counterproductive, and appeals to the German public to recognize the perspective of the oppressed Iranians.

The ones who have always caused war and chaos are the mullahs. We should and may not turn the tables. The fact is that the mullahs started this war. Against Israel, against the USA, against any form of democracy. They started the war. Not we as Iranians, not the Israelis, nor the Americans. Hello to a new episode of the und-orthodoxy-podcast for the undecided, with myself. In this podcast episode, I look forward to a very special guest, namely I have met Iman Zefati. Iman Zefati is a multimedia producer at the Wild-Zeitung and has been covering anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli demonstrations in Berlin since October 7, 2023, but also long before that. In this conversation, he will tell me what he has experienced at these demonstrations and, above all, how he assesses the war between Israel and the mullah regime in Iran and how he evaluates the current situation. Yes, thank you, Iman, for meeting here in the Axel Springer House and taking the time for a podcast. Thank you for inviting me, and it’s nice that you are in Berlin. I hope you arrived safely. Thank you, yes. Fortunately, everything went well, except for the German Railway. But whatever. Another topic. Then let’s dive straight into the difficult topic. You are an exiled Iranian, can you tell us something about your family background and why you live in exile, why you are no longer in Iran? I was born in Iran. I also grew up there almost until I was 14. I lived in Tehran. I went to school in Tehran. There, you experienced how they actually spread hatred against Jews. It is allowed and expected, and therefore I am very well acquainted with this matter. Honestly, my father was one of the first courageous people who fought against the mullah regime. He was executed by the mullah regime in 1988. He was not so politically active, but he was one of the first who unfortunately received the death sentence. My mother decided that we would come to Germany. She did not want us to be in a country where freedom does not prevail. Where one must be afraid to lead one’s completely normal life, where one is not allowed to do so. She considered that we would come to Germany. First, she sent me and my sister to Germany, and later she came herself. The Iranian population has suffered for decades, and in Europe it is hardly ever discussed permanently. How do you experience the handling of the terror regime in Iran, especially here in Germany? In Germany is still the first trade partner of the mullah regime within Europe. This Europe, this Germany, regardless of who is in power, it plays no role at all whether it is the CDU or the FDP or the SPD and the Greens. All these parties have supported the mullah regime for almost 40 years. And when I say supported, I mean it literally, exactly supported. Directly and indirectly with economic and political relations. Honestly, what we experience here from Europe sends a bad signal to the people in Iran. The people in Iran have believed or seen for decades that they are alone. We have had many uprisings against the mullah regime. The Green Revolution during the Khatami era, because of the gasoline price, and then the Woman, Life, Freedom Revolution. And now, on January 8 and 9, the biggest massacre since the mullah regime at the market. Some report 17,000 dead and others report 60,000 people. It plays no role at all whether it is 17,000 or 60,000 people; these are people who have taken to the streets for freedom and democracy. And here in Europe, we have only seen that some German films, I do not know if I may name names behind the mailbox or not, we do not want that. Therefore, they were large German companies that sent surveillance equipment to the Mullahs have sold. The internet is censored by the German system and the Chinese system. The surveillance cameras are products made in Germany. The railway, through which the revolutionaries actually transport their weapons back and forth or their military forces, is made in Germany. And politically, we have supported this regime for decades. It is not only sad, it is shameful. I am among German citizens, therefore I truly feel ashamed as a German citizen for this country, because I know, I have gotten to know this country differently. I was taught in school how important human rights are, how important it is that, for example, homosexuals are not executed, that women's rights are respected. But apparently, these rights actually only apply to Europeans. And if these rights are violated somewhere else, such as in Iran, apparently German politicians have no interest, because the price of gasoline is significantly more important than the thousands of people who are now sitting in the Mullahs' prisons and are being tortured. At the end of February, the USA and Israel attacked the regime and eliminated its leader, Ali Khamenei. How did you experience that day, and also the following days and the following months? First of all, it is really nice that you pronounce this name very well. It surprises me. Wow! I was at Putz d'Amir Square. We had a rally; if I may say so, as I, as an Iranian in exile, we had a large rally. We celebrated the fact that Israel and the Americans actually attacked the Mullahs' regime. One must always say again and again: it is not a war against Iran, nor against the Iranian people. It was and is a war against the Mullahs' regime. That is why we celebrate this war. We do not like war. I myself grew up in Iran during a war. The Iran-Iraq War, because Saddam Hussein bombed the country. I know what war means. I know how terrible a war can be. But I know exactly how terrible it can be when one is taken hostage for over 40 years. I know how hard it is when one loses one's own parents or brothers or sisters or children, if they simply go out on the street without a headscarf. I know how terrible it is that women have not even been able to begin to wear what they want for 40 years. I know how terrible it is when my homosexual friend, for decades, cannot love his sexual orientation and therefore has to marry a woman in order to circumvent the laws in Iran. That is why I know how terrible all of this is, and that is why we also celebrated all of it. We did not celebrate war. We celebrated the war of liberation against the Mullahs' regime. Returning to your question. I, just like many other Iranians, we were happy, we were thrilled that Khamenei was eliminated. He is responsible for thousands of deaths, thousands of women, children, and homosexuals who were tortured, raped, and executed for decades in the Mullahs' prisons. That is why I myself referred to it in a speech as a war of liberation, and I believe many Iranians also saw it that way. That is why you have seen almost no negative videos about Israel or the USA from Iran, but rather left-wing activists from Europe were concerned about the Iranian people, not the Iranians themselves. There are always some isolated comments from, let's say, Europeans, who then say, yes, that is an Iranian opinion that is celebrating the war now, and that does not represent the general public. But as you rightly say, it is the case that precisely the Iranians in exile celebrated this war, because it is a step towards liberation. And this is hardly mentioned here. It was not only celebrated by the Iranians in exile; it was celebrated by many Iranians in Iran. There are numerous videos online on Twitter where Iranians in the country have recorded video footage have and celebrated, when Chamenei was killed. Or when the Israeli aircraft were seen, where they were all happy and wrote about liberation. Not only exiles, and quite honestly, if the majority of Iranians want it that way, then so be it; how can people in Iran be denied the right to what they took to the streets for? The right to self-determination, self-determination is what and why people in Iran take to the streets. And if people say, we are happy that Americans and Israelis have attacked us, not us, but the Iranian regime, then we had to report on what the Iranians are saying, and not the other way around. Exactly, in January, as you mentioned, there were the large demonstrations against the regime in Iran, where an estimated 40, 50, 60,000 people were executed in the open streets. But in Germany, there was hardly any media reaction. So, perhaps the Bild newspaper, Axel Springer, Die Welt, but overall the media landscape and also the reaction of society in Germany was very, very quiet. But when Israel then attacked Iran or the Mullah regime together with the USA, then the outcry was very loud again. Why do you think that is? It was few media outlets that reported on it. Fortunately, Axel Springer media, including Bild and Die Welt, reported strongly on it. And that is why I am also proud to be a small part of this publishing house, because we have always decided to be on the side of people who are oppressed. On the side of people, whether in Syria or in Iran, we have always reported on these people. I must say, my analysis, I do not know if this is the right analysis or not, why many German media did not report on it or joined in too late, is a name: Grand Prince Reza Pahlavi. Reza Pahlavi is a political figure who is unfortunately not well-known among many leftists and Israel-haters. One can see that, one can of course criticize him. Every politician should be criticized. Critical questions, yes, of course. But on January 8th and 9th, we saw that despite the four decades the Islamic Republic has always said, the Pahlavi family are the Dattopahlavi family, who have taken your money on the way. Or in Europe, one has seen that, no, Reza Pahlavi has no influence at all, Reza Pahlavi has no followers. And all of a sudden we see on January 8th and 9th, after he has called for it, millions of people in the streets, who call out his name and shout, it is the last battle, Reza Pahlavi will return. That did not please the Mullahs, but decades of propaganda against Reza Pahlavi here in Europe. Therefore, I have the feeling that many German media actually did not report on it or joined in later. The exact opposite is the case, while Ms. Liem, freedom, revolution or movement happened, where many joined in. Because the slogan was also good from the perspective of German media. On the other hand, one must say why that did not work, because the images, what was produced here abroad by left-wing activists, were wrong and sent false signals to Iran in the country, for example, when left-wing activists, women stripped naked and from the camera setups, my uncle is completely a democrat, but he has always called me about this artwork, sending a false signal, because that is now broadcast on the Iranian propaganda machine, and they say, all people who take to the streets in exile want all Iranian women to walk around naked, which does not correspond to the truth at all, because we were for women's rights. And this strategy of the Lefts unfortunately helped the Mullah regime and not the revolution in Iran. And one has also seen that after a few days or weeks, unfortunately this revolution unfortunately, unfortunately, and unfortunately did not come to fruition. It was repeatedly heard that the war against the Mullahs' peoples was unlawful. So, very, very many voices have said this. What do you say, how do you assess this statement? Absurd. For decades, since the Mullahs came to power, they have threatened Israel with destruction. "Death to America, death to Israel" is being called out. Where were these people when the Mullahs' regime financed terrorist organizations with weapons and money so that they could destroy Israel, eliminate Jews? Without the Mullahs' support, October 7 would not have been possible at all. Without the Mullahs, terrorist attacks in Argentina, for example, would not have been possible at all. So, those who have always caused war and chaos are the Mullahs. We should and may not turn the tables. The fact is that the Mullahs started this war, 47 years ago, against their own people, against Israel, against the USA, against Western democracy. That is Western democracy. Democracy is not Western, against any kind of democracy. They started the war. Not we as Iranians, not Israel, nor the Americans. Do you have contact with family and friends in Iran? What do they tell you about the current situation there? I have had a lot of contact. We had Starlings. We were in very close contact with my family and friends. Unfortunately, many friends and family, relatives, close acquaintances have been detained. Many of them have in their file contact with Zionist press, and thus I have unfortunately had no contact for weeks for security reasons. I do not want to put these courageous people in danger. I must honestly say, I have not been in contact, not in direct contact with people I know for weeks. But one can still read, despite the internet blockade, on Twitter, on social media, that some small messages come out. People are unfortunately disappointed that this intervention against the Mullahs' regime was stopped, because it is assumed that this regime is being given time. Today, while we are just speaking, I read that a 21-year-old was eliminated, executed, because he went out on the street on the 8th and 9th of the month. If you allow me, I will say his name, I must briefly look at my mobile phone before I forget, because the news is really new. Sosan Asadwar Joghani, 21 years old, he came from Iswan, he only went out on the street because he went out on the street for freedom and democracy. Now they have given the Mullahs time to carry out executions, so that the Mullahs can rebuild themselves, so that they probably also resume producing weapons. We have seen here, within the 12-day war last year, the Mullahs were extremely weak. Then came the great pause. It was seen that the rockets used within the 12-day war were significantly weaker than what they have used this time. The Mullahs are not stupid. One does not have to support them either. This regime has been in power for 47 years, has money and power. That means, and they know that. Therefore, one should not support them. Every pause actually gives this regime the time to fully prepare for the Holy War, as they call it. Therefore, many in the country are concerned, because they know that the Mullahs' regime, as the first line, executes political prisoners in Iran, but as the second, probably. If the opportunity arises, they will probably attack Gulf states, Israel, but also American targets again. Do you still believe that the day will come when the Iranian people will be liberated and the Mullahs can be overthrown? This day will come. I am sure of that, whether it is today, tomorrow, in a month, or in ten years, I do not know. But the fact is, a terrorist regime that has money and power can A man cannot be defeated with empty hands. We need foreign support; without foreign support, it will unfortunately be a very, very difficult path for us, Iran. But we will make it. I am certain of that, because we have a people who seek meaning in freedom, who experience this feeling. Where else can one experience in a country that women have been oppressed for 47 years, yet still bravely take to the streets? In which country have you seen that one wants to force a religion upon these people through violence, but these people say, no, we have a tradition of over 2,500 years. We will not be judged by these people. Therefore, sorry, it will come eventually. Freedom will come. The Iranian people have already won. Because everyone has understood that we are fed up with this terror regime. When we will be able to love freely, we will have to see. As I said, with or without foreign support, we will do it. Of course, we all hope for that. Better today than tomorrow. You have been covering with your camera for quite some time the demonstrations in Berlin, the Israel-hatred mass supporters, and also the Muller supporters. What do you experience there, and what kind of people do you encounter there, who call for the murder of Jews, or of exiled Iranians, or against Muller opponents, so to speak? What kind of people are they? Look, many only know me since after October 7. But I have been covering such demonstrations; if you scroll down a YouTube channel, you can see that I have been covering such demonstrations since 2015. I have covered demonstrations in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, I think until 2019, when Corona started, always reporting on the demonstrations in Frankfurt and Hamburg. I have made many reports about Islamic associations that were targeted by the Smollers-Russia-Motorsturz. You can see that on my YouTube channel as well. But after October 7, everything changed. Before October 7, antisemitism and the fight against Israel were a hidden struggle. One did not dare to speak so directly about Jews, that one does not like Jews, that one wants to kill Jews, that this slogan, which I heard after October 7, "Do you have a weapon hidden for your wedding? Give it to Hamas or kill Jews." This slogan would never, never before October 7, that one would take to the German streets, that was a hidden Jewish, even blonde antisemites, German antisemites, left-wing antisemites did not dare to speak about it at all. On October 7, everything changed here. I believe the world has changed here. I must tell you, on a day after October 7, I think, one day after the whole thing happened, or on the same day, I cannot recall exactly. I was at, I enjoy speaking Arabic. What I miss on October 7 is, unfortunately, again Arabic, first at Sonnenallee. I was in an Arab establishment, my friend and I, we were speaking, and I kept hearing in the background, ah, Yahudi, ah, Yahudi, Yahudi, Yahudi. And Yahudi means Jews in Arabic. I was desperate, somehow, what are you talking about? I asked my Arabic buddy, who was happy, what are you talking about? He answered quietly. Later he told me, yes, they are happy that Jews have been killed. Then I thought, perhaps they are emotionally honest? I was disappointed, but I still sought an answer. When I got home, I told my wife, thanks to these terrible images from Israel, we will at least no longer experience antisemitism and hatred of Jews. Because every idiot has seen these images, knows what Hamas is and what kind of terrible people they are. What kind of terror organization is against Jewish human feeling. I would never have thought possible that antisemitism would find its true, its true face shows. I follow these demonstrations, as I said at the beginning of the interview, I grew up in Iran myself. I know what antisemitism is. I know what it means to be Jewish. I know exactly how we were taught, skillfully, to formulate things so that it does not look like an antisemitic statement. That is why I actually considered whether I should follow the demonstrations, talk about such demonstrations. Because it is not about the suffering of Palestinians. I grew up in a war myself. I know how terrible a war is. I know that the children in Gaza suffer from it. I know that families in a war probably do not have much to eat. That truly hurts me from the heart. I believe it will hurt you. It will hurt every normal person. But these demonstrations, what I experienced, what I saw, that had nothing to do with the suffering of Palestinians. It was a pure antisemitic movement that has developed step by step. I do not need to mention the slogans. It is even embarrassing to me to speak about that alone. Politics, as well as the media, only later caught up to report that the streets were a pure antisemitic movement, and it was too late. All these judgments that the Berlin judiciary is issuing, 100 days in A, or 15, or from my point of view 200 days. I know, who cares? They make online calls. Then they prefer it to be within two days. It is such that we did not understand that we must act firmly, that we should proceed more strictly against such people. I am speechless. I am h

Ich weiß, was Krieg bedeutet. Absurd.
