The Greek Orthodox community in Thessaloniki preserves and celebrates its historical and cultural heritage through joint events that connect past and present.
The Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki, the Society for Macedonian Studies, the Athos Homeland, and the Association of Thessalonikians in Athens have the joy and honour to invite you to a commemorative event
The text is a collection of event announcements and brief reports from the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki and affiliated organisations. It announces commemorative celebrations, book presentations, exhibitions, and cultural performances. At the centre are the millennium of the Athonite State, the return of Athonite relics under Kapodistrias, and anniversaries of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Further contributions deal with the rescue of cultural goods, the handing over of schoolbags to first-graders, and a photo exhibition about the Holy Mountain.
