The spiritual path cannot be sustained by one's own strength alone; only through the surrender of the mind to God and the overcoming of the ego are all inner and outer obstacles overcome by divine grace.
If your mind is directed toward me, you will overcome all obstacles through my grace. But if you do not want to listen to me out of ego, out of ahankara, you will perish.
The text interprets Bhagavad Gita 18,58 and highlights the central statement: Whoever directs their mind toward God will overcome all obstacles through divine grace, while clinging to the ego (Ahankara) leads to destruction. The speaker Sukadev Bretz explains that God manifests in various incarnations such as Krishna, Jesus, and Buddha to help human beings. It is emphasized that the spiritual path cannot be sustained by one's own strength alone, as a person cannot master their thoughts and emotions on their own. Instead, surrender to God and asking for help with inner and outer difficulties is called for. The text contains a direct appeal to the listeners to turn to God in the moment of their listening and to ask for help. The message aims at overcoming arrogance and recognizing one's own limitations through connection with the Divine.

Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 18, Verse 58. Sanskrit: M'achetha sarva durga ni mad prasadata rishyasi Atta chetvam ahankaran na shrosyasi vinankshyasi. Krishna, the Teacher, speaks. If your mind is directed toward me, you will overcome all obstacles through my grace. But if you do not wish to hear me out of ego-consciousness, out of ahankara, the ego, you will perish. Krishna describes to you again the path of the Bhakti, the path of divine devotion. Krishna speaks here as the incarnation of God, as the manifestation of God, indeed ultimately as God Himself. God Himself manifests as Krishna, God Himself also manifests as Jesus, God Himself manifests as Buddha. Krishna says in another chapter that God manifests anew in every age. Every age also means in every culture, in every civilization. God manifests again and again. In a certain way, God manifests in every individual being. But He manifests particularly in human form, those who have no karma, who do not have to attain anything, who have no desires. In this sense, direct your mind toward God. Direct your thinking and feeling toward God. Sense and feel the presence of God behind everything. And He says, if you have directed your mind, and thereby your thinking and feeling, entirely toward God, then you will overcome all obstacles through God's grace. Sometimes obstacles arise, sometimes external obstacles arise, where you do not know what you can do. Sometimes they are internal obstacles, sometimes emotions arise, sometimes desires arise, sometimes greed arises. Sometimes you cannot master your mind and you do not know how to do it. Sometimes it seems impossible to walk the spiritual path. Sometimes you may not even be able to meditate. All of these are obstacles. Direct your mind toward God, speak to God. Oh God, I do not know how I can do it. Please help me. Oh God, I have already tried so much. I am not making progress. Please help me. If you direct your mind entirely toward God, then you will overcome all obstacles through God's grace. So Krishna promises. But if you are in the ego and then say, for example, I can do it alone, or I have to work all this out by myself, then He says, then you will perish. Ultimately, the spiritual path cannot be sustained permanently by one's own strength. Ultimately, you cannot even master or handle the mind alone. It does not even succeed to make oneself aware of breathing at all times by one's own strength. But it succeeds for you by surrendering yourself to God. Whenever you face an obstacle, turn to God. And even when no obstacle is in sight, then free yourself from arrogance by asking God for help. You can go astray. You can convince yourself of all sorts of things. You can imagine all sorts of things. But if you always keep your mind directed toward God, then you will go in the right direction. God knows what is good for you. God wants to give you what needs to be done. God will help you. Speak to God, your willing servant. Whatever it is, do it, I entrust it to you. Please help me. Perhaps consider now, is there any obstacle in your mind? Is there any obstacle in your life that you have now? Then ask God for help. Ask God to remove this obstacle. Whether it is internal or external. Take a few moments now and pray to God. Ask God for help. God, God in divine consciousness. However you wish to express it. The Divine Mother, your higher Self. In this moment, ask for help. I surrender myself entirely to God. To the higher God.

Baggavad Gita, 18. Kapitel 58. Fass. Bitte hilf mir. Überlege jetzt vielleicht, gibt es irgendein Hindernis in deinem Geist? Gibt es irgendein Hindernis in deinem Leben, was du jetzt hast? Gott, Gott in gottliches Bewusstsein. Wie auch immer du es ausdrücken willst. Die gottliche Mutter, dein höhere Selbst. In diesem Moment, bitte um Hilfe. Witt mir dich ganz Gott. Höhere Gott zu.
