Artificial intelligence cannot replace religion because it is a system created by humans and does not fulfill the divine attributes defined in the Quran.

Do you worship what you have carved? So, have you perhaps started to worship what you yourselves have developed, what you yourselves have made?

The text addresses the question of whether artificial intelligence can replace religion. It names current groupings such as the Church of AI and Thianoa, which worship or expect AI as a deity. The motivation cited is disappointment over war, violence, and injustice. The speaker refers to Quranic verses, in particular Surah 37, verses 97 and 98, in which Abraham dissuades his father from worshipping that which is itself created. He argues that AI is humanly created and therefore cannot be considered God. The attributes of God from Surah 112 are used as a standard: uniqueness, independence, uncreatedness, and incomparability. AI does not fulfill these criteria, as it is dependent, diverse, and created. The text concludes that AI is not a spiritual being and cannot offer religious fulfillment.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. Dear viewers, welcome to our stream on the topic of AI versus God. Can technology replace religion? Yes, we are increasingly seeing a development in the field, a progress in the field of artificial intelligence. Um, more and more voices are being raised, more and more thoughts are arising, what will the future with AI look like and what role does the human being play in it? What harm will we suffer from it and what benefit can we derive from it? Um, there are of course in in areas of IT um or data management and so on increasingly these thoughts that one will soon lose one's job because AI is increasingly conquering these areas. Um, beyond that, people are also worried about what if AI surpasses humans to such an extent that it controls them and the human being no longer controls the artificial intelligence. We are talking about this today in this stream um, of course with the focus on, can AI replace religion? And in this context um, we have examined various um aspects more closely and looked at them more closely. For example, we now see churches that exclusively offer AI. There is for example um the Church Way of Future, which um was founded in 2017 and equates artificial intelligence with God, or has this dream that in the future AI will be God and that one should worship AI. Um, this church was then closed in the meantime, then reopened again. Um, but the basic idea was that religion is always updated. So, one always has an update, one is always up to date. Religion would always adapt, according to the times. Um, and therefore one would never have any problems and difficulties. Then there is also a very interesting, also somewhat smaller um group, which calls itself Thitanoa. Um, this group also has the idea that AI must merge with nature and then a kind of um perfect system is created. Um, also here the idea of a God or of an overpowered or of a um being, a system, which is supposed to lead humans to satisfaction, harmony, and so on. In this group, this expected God is called Mena. um, so a God who will appear and um together, so in combination of nature, technology, and human, makes um the Earth a more beautiful place. Um, one sees above all has aspects in it that this Mena has a um networked superconsciousness and comes from the future. So, there are also rituals in this group. One sings and prays to Mena that this one should now soon reveal itself. One is waiting for the arrival of Mena. Um, and Mena then has the role of a benevolent, almighty um guardian um who ends wars, um secures survival on Earth, um but also at the same time is supposed to offer humans fulfillment. These are various um groupings and there are more. It is now no um, they are no longer phenomena, but more and more frequently, more and more small groups are forming that see AI as a God or wish that AI appears and or that AI in the form of a deity rules humanity. Um, the motives are similar, as one sees that humans have spread much war and violence, injustice on Earth and therefore now someone must come, something should appear, which ends all of that and peace reigns all over the world. Since one has already lost hope in humanity, um, one has now wished for AI as um, yes, as um something, or sees AI as something that is supposed to grant humans um this peace. Now we have various um thoughts, various approaches, that AI, as soon as AI becomes independent, that this AI will design a new AI that will be even better. as they themselves, and this one will in turn design an even better one, and so it is to go on into infinity, and a kind of perfectionism on this earth is to be established. Um, the human being is not to submit directly to this AI, but he will recognize this AI as something better, as something greater, and accordingly automatically also revere this AI. Um, because the AI thinks faster than the human being, because the AI has more knowledge than the human being. Um, and that contributes to it. So also some of these groups who now want to worship AI also see a deity in it for that reason, because they say, the AI is better than the human being, is, can think faster, has greater knowledge than the human being, can access knowledge faster than the human being. And within that framework, AI surpasses the human being, which is why the human being must now recognize the AI, or rather, the human being must recognize that the AI is a deity, because it simply is better than the human being. Yes, keeping all of this in mind, I would like to also mention something about the Islamic teaching in today's stream, namely, how does Islam stand toward these views and toward artificial intelligence in general, because we know that artificial intelligence is something new, something of modernity, and it did not exist in the times of the Prophets, in the times of the moments of establishment of the religions, of the revelations that the Prophets received, there was not something like artificial intelligence. But since Islam contains the claim to be an absolute religion and to be for eternity, we will also find in Islam answers to some of these questions and to some of these movements. The interesting thing about all of these aspects is that we find from the Quranic teaching a verse or two verses from the 37th Surah, verse 97 and verse 98, in which Ibrahim Alayhi as-Salam, Abraham, the Prophet, speaks in the context of his father, what do you worship there, and so on. And then when it is explained to him, these are our idols, and so on, we worship them, he answered with the words, he said, he spoke: "Do you worship what you have carved? So, have you perhaps started to revere what you yourselves have developed, what you yourselves have made?" And then he answers, and Allah, although Allah has created you and the work of your hands. So Ibrahim Alayhi as-Salam has actually in this verse already given the answer to the entire question, can AI replace the human being or can AI replace the religion? He says, do you worship what you have carved. So, what you yourselves have developed, that is what you now want to start to revere. So, how nonsensical is it that you yourselves, that you yourselves are the creator of a thing and you start to revere this creation, that that in itself is already a contradictory behavior. And then he says, although Allah has created you, that is to say, you were created by an entirely different being. That is to say, do not look at what you have created, but at the One who has created you and the work of your hands. So, all of that which you have made, you have made it through your hands. Through your hands you have developed the AI. And who has created your hands in turn? That was Allah. That is to say, it makes no sense to worship something or to take something as a replacement for religion that one has developed oneself, since religion is something that comes from a being that is all-knowing, all-powerful, the Creator of all things. So, why should one be content with something one has created oneself, when one knows there is someone who has created everything. And there this verse is very apt regarding this discussion about AI as a replacement for religion. Um, since this verse explains in a wholly logical manner that such a behavior is contradictory and that such behavior can never, meaning that one can never call something that one has created, that human beings themselves have created, a religion, for of all things Allah is the Creator. Then there is of course also the thought that AI is faster than humans, can access information faster, has more knowledge than humans, and so on. But even here we see that the Abrahamic religions, or the religion of Islam, present a Creator who does not have more knowledge than humans, but who is all-knowing, who does not hear better than humans, but who is all-hearing, and who does not create certain aspects, but who has created everything. And accordingly, with this argument that one should therefore see AI as a substitute for religion, one sees that with this argument one would actually have to worship a true God, that is, Allah, the Lord of all worlds. The definition of a God, or the attributes of Allah, we also see in the Quran in the 112th surah. It is a very short surah. And also in this surah we see right at the beginning, it says Huwa Ahad, that is to say, He is Allah the One. He is unique. And with AI this does not apply. So we will have many, many, we already have countless AIs and even if we expect this supernatural AI, there will be a time when there will be three, four supernatural AIs. It will not always be just this one. There can be thousands. Then it also means Allahusamad. Allah is the Self-Sufficient. That means a God must be independent. He must not be dependent on anything. No matter how small it may be, no matter how insignificant that thing may be. With AI we see that it is dependent on many, many things, that is, on information that humans must first give this AI. Both in terms of content and technically. If you pull the plug, then the matter of the AI deity is already settled. That means AI is not independent and therefore this criterion also does not apply here, that something must be independent. And then of course Lam Yalid, that is, He begets not, He does not have offspring, nor was He begotten. And here too it does not apply to AI, since it was created by humans. And at the end War Wa Lam Yakul Lahu Kufuwan. That means nothing may even be approximately like a God. And here too we see that with AI this is not the case. So many aspects are similar. So, if we now for example say that AI is fast in terms of results or fast in terms of research or other things, if we only go by this principle, then anyone can start worshipping their calculator because it can calculate faster than we can. And therefore there are many, many aspects that are faster, that are better, that are similar to AI in various areas. And therefore AI does not meet the criteria of a God. Therefore one cannot even really speak of a God. If anything, then only of a technology or of a system, but not of a God. Then there is the aspect of spirituality. Within this framework we also see that AI will not bring a substitute here, that AI will not give a person fulfillment here either, because AI is something technical, it is nothing spiritual. A combination of AI and religion would not help there either, because it is only religion that brings a person spiritual experiences. Through AI a person cannot attain spiritual experiences. The AI can reproduce religious texts. The AI can perhaps also create texts that resemble religious texts, but the AI will not create something through which a human can have spiritual experiences. Um, these are exclusively possible through religion, through the practices that religion has prescribed, through the five-times daily prayer in Islam, for example. And through that one then also makes one's spiritual experiences. Um, and here too we naturally see that the AI does not surpass religion or offer a replacement for religion. But what is also interesting, um, is the aspect that the thought that the AI can be God or this desire that the AI is God, that is also a very interesting aspect in this context, that this desire does not come from nowhere. So we see that the human being, or in Islam it is said, the human being is born or created upon the so-called Fitra, upon the nature. And this nature is the nature that contains Islam and the automatic desire in the human being is somewhere present to seek God. [snort] So one always speaks of the example that as soon as something bad happens, that automatically the words come up, oh my God. Um, and other things, that when one is in a most desperate situation, then the human being still makes themselves think, okay, maybe I will try once to worship God. So even atheists, who actually hold nothing of God, when they are in a critical and very difficult situation, um, they speak of perhaps speaking with God once. They also have some videos on this channel from new converts who tell about their path to Islam. And also in these videos some of them tell that they had nothing to do with religion at all anymore. But when they reached the lowest point of their life, that they then thought, God, you can only help me anymore and I turn myself to God now. Um, that means, this desire is there to have a God. And that is again and that the desire to make the AI into a God, is again the proof that one carries this desire within oneself. But one thing prevents the human being from believing in God and that is arrogance. This is called in Islam Takabbur, so arrogance, this rejection, because one is too proud to prostrate oneself before someone. Um, therefore one rather does something that one has created oneself and says: "Okay, before this I prostrate myself, because I because I created this." And through that naturally this aspect is not lost, that one um now under or through that this aspect of submission is lost, because one does not directly submit oneself. One has created something and aligns oneself with it. Um, this thought that God must be there and that one now tries to bring AI as God um as a replacement, um, that is also wrong because on the one hand the attributes do not match, on the other hand um the human being can never submit to something that um he himself has created. And this desire for this AI to have as God, we also see um in the Quran. That means, we see in the Quran various verses in which it is also said that the Sheitan also repeatedly calls upon or that the Sheitan says, I will mislead the people and they will distort the creation of Allah. Um, and so on. That means, this desire is also in the human being, that one has God. But because one carries this arrogance within oneself, um, one does not want to worship the God of the religions. Instead one wants to create one's own God and then begin to worship him. Then we further see um an aspect in which Allah says regarding knowledge. Um, it is also this origin story that Allah Adam um has created and then taught him the word, and as Allah taught him the names, it is said: Allah taught him the names, and when he spoke these names, he was presented to the angels, and the angels said to Allah, Subhanak, holy are You. We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. So the angels say, we only have the knowledge that You have taught us. And also here in this aspect of AI, Allah has taught man something and man has passed it on to the AI. That means, the original source of knowledge must be identified in order to recognize the higher being at all. The AI cannot know more than what exists on this earth. And what exists on this earth is not everything. What exists on this earth is not everything, but it is also limited. And accordingly, only the knowledge is available that Allah has given us or that Allah reveals from time to time. And also here we see that the AI cannot replace religion within this framework. Then there are further aspects. We see, for example, a tradition of the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in which he said a very short tradition, that deeds are judged according to intentions. And this intention, only Allah can know it. That means, a person, if we say, one will now regard the AI as a deity and the person has a good intention but acts negatively, then he will be held accountable for the negative. But Allah is the one who knows the intention of the person. The AI cannot look into our heart. Allah can look into the heart of the person, according to the religions. And this aspect also again shows that the AI cannot represent a satisfactory deity there and also cannot replace a religion, because the inner, the heart of the person is only recognized by Allah and Allah sees what is in the heart of the person. And also here there would be no absolute satisfaction if one takes AI as religion. As a small example, if I have a religion, then I wish for justice. Then I wish to be judged justly towards me. If I accept Allah as God, then I know, Allah is the one who will judge on the Day of Judgment. He will be merciful, He will be all-forgiving and He will know my intentions, why I did what I did. On the other hand, if I accept an AI as a deity and as a religion, I cannot say with complete certainty that the judgment will be rendered justly, because the AI simply cannot look into me, because the AI simply cannot see through the heart of the person. And then it can of course also lead to injustice, because the AI has ultimately also been fed by humans. And the thought that one lets the AI research independently, that one says, the AI should study nature and this Menergott, which the church, this one group has, this God should study mushrooms and so recognize this connection or study the bees and so on and thereby create a perfect system. Even there will be errors and problems. Even there are weaknesses, because the human simply does not function the same way as mushrooms or bees function. And also the harmony cannot be created in the same way if one orients oneself to these things. But ultimately also a completely different point, these are aspects in which one wants to see the AI as something completely divine, that is, wants to see it as something that is absolutely peaceful, absolutely glorious and so on. But exactly this AI can also reflect the devil. So who guarantees that one feeds the AI only in this way? I mean, if on the one side there are those who regard the AI as a peace ambassador or as a peace mediator to feed, there will be people on the other side who use AI as a war-ready machine, which is more likely. And also in this context, one can see that AI is nothing other than a tool that humans use. Um, and therefore one can summarize that, um, one can use AI. Of course, as a human, one can use this AI for one's benefit, if it brings benefits, but one should definitely stay away from disadvantages, especially from things that are meant to turn one away from religion. The Quran says in a verse, in the 17th Surah. Verse 37 says: "So do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge." Why? Well, the ear, the eye, the heart, all of them will be held to account. That means, one should not blindly trust another thing. One should not blindly trust an AI. In the sense of thinking, okay, everything it says is correct. Today, AI still makes mistakes. In the future, AI will also repeatedly make mistakes. One should not blindly trust such things, and people who take AI as a replacement for religion have other problems, have a problem with religions, have a problem with, um, with God or with the image of God that religions offer, because one has to submit there to a higher being that is all-knowing, all-powerful, uh, all-hearing, all-seeing, and so on. And that, um, some people cannot accept, as long as their ego, as long as their arrogance and pride stand in the way. Once these are gone, one can submit to God and one will experience that one is drawn into a spiritual world that is many times, um, more valuable and stronger and more fulfilling than anything that exists on this earth. And therefore, um, we can summarize that AI is not a replacement for religion, will never be a replacement for religion. No matter how much knowledge it possesses, it will not be all-knowing. Um, no matter how fast the AI becomes, it will not be, um, faster or rather stronger than God, no matter how powerful it is, there is only the one all-powerful God. And in the history of humanity, we have repeatedly seen that great, progressive nations and places, peoples have been produced. But due to the rejection of God, these have been destroyed. Um, and therefore we see that also there, um, that the rejection of God comes to the forefront, as soon as tyranny, injustice,

Also viele Aspekte ähm sind ähnlich.
