Antisemitic conspiracy theories are a tenacious phenomenon that functions independently of the actual existence or behaviour of Jewish people and manifests itself as elite thinking through the appropriation of supposedly exclusive knowledge.
The text is a podcast transcript in which Michael Scholz speaks about the historical and current persistence of antisemitic conspiracy theories. He argues that antisemitism is an independent phenomenon that does not depend on the physical presence of Jews, as the example of Japan in the Second World War shows. Scholz analyses how narratives such as the blood libel or modern myths such as Pizzagate detach themselves from reality and are nonetheless sold as truth. He emphasises the paradox that conspiracy believers understand themselves as an elite with exclusive knowledge while rejecting established institutions. Historical examples such as the Church at the Judenstein in Austria serve to illustrate how long such myths can persist. The talk also addresses the connection between antisemitism and other ideologies and the danger that these narratives can find a foothold even in modern society.

Welcome to a new episode of the Cortices Podcast, in which we deal with clear thinking, enlightenment, and science. Today with a guest who writes against the madness of the world with a pointed pen and polished language, Michael Scholz, better known as Uncle Michael. Michael Scholz is a freelance author, blogger, speaker, and a razor-sharp observer of our society's abysses. On his blog, Uncle Michael.blog, he dissects with wit, irony, and critical mind topics ranging from shamanism to anti-vaccination, from Hannah Arendt to Goethe's understanding of nature. His territory is the intersection of ideology, rhetoric, and absurd worldviews. In conversation with Andreas Helyert, today's topic is his lecture theme, the eternal hatred of Jews, antisemitic conspiracy theories. Michael Scholz analyzes therein a particularly tenacious and perfidious phenomenon. Antisemitism functions even without Jews. Whether in the medieval ritual murder myth or in the modern internet, around Andrenochrom and Pizzagate, antisemitic narratives have the baffling property of evading any reality while still selling themselves as truth. Why are conspiracy theories so connectable, even for people who see themselves as particularly critical? How does antisemitism transform into a form of elitist thinking? And why do Jews suddenly appear as the supposed masterminds at the end of almost all conspiracy narratives, from Corona to the Vatican? In today's conversation, absurd myths are exposed, historical examples are dissected, and it becomes clear how dangerous and powerful ideological hatred is to this day. I wish you, as always, much fun and much joy in gaining insight. Yes, today's guest is Uncle Michael Scholz for his lecture "The Eternal Hatred of Jews: Antisemitic Conspiracy Theories," and in that context, we are recording the Cortices Podcast right away. Uncle Michael describes himself on his blog as a completely normal person beyond the age of 40, who stands firmly on both feet in life, and his hobbies are lounging around, doing nothing, against priest-hunting, and constant subversions. That about lounging around and doing nothing. I have the suspicion that that is not quite true, given that two to three articles appear on Uncle Michael.blog every week. Correct, yes, that is, well, I may have understated it a bit, but the rest is completely, completely true. Many topics are also dealt with there, it is not just in one direction, that it would only be antisemitism. Last month it was also about shamanism, about the epistemology in Goethe, about Sedesvakans in the Vatican. That is when the seat of the Pope is empty because the Pope has died. A fictitious debate between Thomas Aquinas and Immanuel Kant, and finally also antisemitism and totalitarianism in Hannah Arendt's work. Correct, so I always try to cover a certain range, so that one can offer something for every, every, every interest circle. Simply, and therefore, yes, I always look to see, or it is with the Pope who has just died. There have always been, thanks to Damp Brown, some of these nice conspiracy theories, myths, and so on. And I just wanted to say what is actually happening now, that it always dresses itself up in a somewhat mystical way in the Vatican, but in the end, it is nothing else than a somewhat inflated board election in the rabbit breeders' association. Perhaps without rabbits, but you understand what I mean. I hope that among the rabbit breeders, it also rises afterwards. From the Quiddeltaar. But well, that is different. Another topic. Antisemitism itself is also a very peculiar form of discrimination, because one normally discriminates people and thereby directly devalues them and also indirectly. For example, people
of a different skin color, sexuality, whatever. And with antisemitism, there is always this notion floating around that they are smarter than us, that they have plans, that they are actually the ones pulling the strings. Right. How exactly does that fit together? Well, the most interesting thing about antisemitism is that it doesn't require any Jews. For example, if you look at Japan during and after the Second World War, it was a highly antisemitic country and had a Jewish population of, I believe, 2,000. It is not much more now, but around 1,500 to 2,000 people were Jews in this state of millions. And yet, they were the villains, to blame for everything, to blame for the lost war, to blame for the economic misery, and everything else. That is already fascinating, because 2,000 people—if one were to construct a conspiracy theory today involving the government and the Deep State, one would actually assume that there would be more than 2,000 people involved. Important. I mean, generally, when you look at it, there are about 15 million Jews in the world. That is fewer people than currently live in East Germany. There are 17 million there, and these 15 million are stigmatized as pure evil in the end. And a certain heterogeneity is always assumed, which is not present at all. I mean, if you saw, for example, when Netanyahu was elected and wanted to push through his so-called reforms, how many people took to the streets. Half of Israel was on the streets, in every larger city, protesting against him. So you can see that this heterogeneity, as in any other country, is not present. Yes. And also, as in any other population group. There was also the introduction of compulsory military service for Ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel. Right, yes. Then the other side took to the barricades. But yes, so from that perspective, it is fascinating, or as I said, if we look at The Merchant of Venice. It is also a play, let us say, where Jews do not come off well. At that time, there was not a single Jew in England when it was written. They had been expelled from the country by John Ohneland when he was king. And they only returned to England under Cromwell, I believe, 50 Jews came back to England. Otherwise, they had an absolute ban on entry. So one can also see that terrible things happen without Jews. Right. It runs very similarly. And that is precisely the fascinating part. So I personally always think, if I want to build up a smear campaign against someone, I need someone who is present on the spot. Or yes, but with antisemitism, it is also the only conspiracy theory, antisemitism, where one says, well, it doesn't require any Jews for that. In the refugee crisis, there is actually a similar phenomenon, where in rural areas, where significantly fewer refugees are accommodated, the resentments are stronger. Yes, generally with the conspiracy theory, that definitely fits. And therefore, this is a highly fascinating topic. If one then, for example, which I will also address in my lecture today, in Austria there was, for example, a church at the Judenstein. Allegedly, in the year 1426, a ritual murder of a small boy took place, allegedly, as I said. And there were pilgrimages to this place until the 1990s. This church had been built over this stone. There were images of the most abhorrent, antisemitic nature. And yes, as I said, it simply became common practice, pilgrimages to this church at the Judenstein, and that was only actually banned in 1900, I believe it was '93. Or '94, when it was actually banned by the responsible diocese. And then there is still the
Some people, the name might still mean something to you, Kurt Krenn, the Archbishop of St. Pölten, I believe it was, he tried to put massive pressure on his colleague, who had banned it, to allow it again. Wow. So one has to imagine, this wasn’t some time in 1890 or 1920 or whatever. It was 1994. And the most beautiful part of the whole story is: neither the alleged victim nor the alleged act ever existed. That seems to be a common motif in ritual murders supposedly committed by Jews. I had also heard something similar in the Lower Franconian region. Important: there really were historians who researched this; it was the case of Rinn, this boy, or so he was called, and they researched and searched for him. There was no family of that name in the entire region. And therefore, as I said, it is fascinating to me. Yes. How easy it ultimately is to turn people against other people. And also other people who have not only been present for 50 years, as it might have been the case in England at some point, but there is also a very long Jewish history in Germany, here in this area. Yes, that’s right. Jewish cemeteries. Yes, that is truly, truly fascinating. How easy it is, so to speak, when we are then presented with things like the Adrenochrome conspiracy or the Pizzagate conspiracy, where there is no evidence that Jews, under the leadership of Hillary Clinton, who by the way is not a Jew at all, but that doesn’t matter either. Bill Gates is also not a Jew, but is repeatedly portrayed by conspiracy theorists, who perhaps sometimes drift into the somewhat National Socialist corner, that they fall into such racial thinking and imagine that somewhere there is still... Yes, yes, yes. And as I said, how, for example, in the Pizzagate conspiracy, if I briefly mention it, it was claimed that the basement of Hillary Clinton’s residence, located under a pizzeria in Washington, was holding children, torturing them, sexually abusing them, selling them, and so on. The biggest problem with the whole theory, which, if one reads it as a narrative, is admittedly quite exciting, is that the entire pizzeria and also the whole block of these buildings is not basemented. I had also heard that before, and there was also an incident where a man, who was the wrong word, an armed man, who stormed in and wanted to see the children, wanted to get in, and then had to realize that there is no basement. That’s right. And it is fascinating. Yes. That is the point where ideology, which fails in reality, is confronted with reality. Yes, I believe, if I am now correctly connecting this with the opera or whatever the hell it is, that something was built down there. And that is why they are not basemented. But as I said, that could have been found with a single click on the internet. But that is simply the nature of conspiracy theories, that one says, yes, yes, of course, you sleeping sheep. We have this expert knowledge, this knowledge of power, in the end. We are the elite. We know what’s going on, and you are just the sleeping sheep who believe everything. That is also an interesting phenomenon, that one rejects the elite itself, but then wants to count oneself as part of the elite. That’s right, that’s right, that’s right. It is also very paradoxical. Or in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, that book, which I will also address today. Of course, one has to address it. Yes, because of all the things that are in there. As I said, for example, that Jews collect explosives and weapons in the subway stations and then... the centers
to assume in the world. It is somewhat similar to that conspiracy narrative where it is then said that in some bunker facilities in the Taunus, some Muslims are bunkered down there with knives and then released at some point, so that they then cut all our throats in our sleep. So, basically, the classic population replacement. Right, right. Say, come on. I have, I have looked into it once. So, the first of these conspiracy theories emerged in the early 1960s. So, if they have been sitting down there since then, then they probably still need the rollator to get around. Is there actually any conspiracy theory that cannot be converted into an antisemitic one? Because, in the end of the day, you can actually say about everything: behind the high earth, there, the powerful Jews of the world want to uncover, behind us, in front of us. So, there is none. You can really look at the conspiracy theories. However you like, eventually someone always comes along and says, but in the end, it is the Jews after all. So, my, my favorite conspiracy theory emerged back then during the Corona protests, and it exists in various variants. But my favorite variant is that from Angela Merkel's private residence, because she is also a Jew, because she herself perhaps is not, but she is a Jew up to the Pergamon Museum. An underground tunnel leads. It was dug up, and on this Pergamon Altar, Angela Merkel slaughters the ambassadors, the American, Jewish, Israeli ambassadors, and so on. It also includes, every Friday, so at the beginning of the Sabbath, a slaughtered lamb. And also, as I said, it is again so easy to expose the banks, as one so beautifully says. That is to be exposed. If one simply looked at the calendar or the appointments of Mrs. Merkel at that time, how often she was out on Friday evenings and had some appointments or was in other countries at times when she allegedly killed Christian children there. So, this is in these Telegram groups. I was once, so, so, so, for a year and a half to two years, always just standing there and quietly reading along. So, one does get a bit crazy if one does that for longer. Was that then during Corona in the Telegram groups? Yes, Corona was also something, something. I am not sure. Did Corona itself and the whole vaccine-skeptic scene around it fuel antisemitism in Germany? Yes, yes. So, especially the vaccine-skeptic scene was really massively shaped there, let us say. And that is also a problem. One sees, after all, that now the measles outbreaks, the, the, what is it called, would also in Germany, that is, that the cases are increasing. The one who was mumbling and grumbling was the triple vaccination. Yes, yes, that is also fascinating, what is happening in the USA right now. In that direction. It has less to do with antisemitism, but generally with conspiracy theories. Yes, there is the conspiracy theory that the vaccines cause autism and that the powerful, whoever they want to be, especially want to hide it. That was brought up by our Mr. Wakefield, Andrew Wakefield, and yes, as I said, it has already been exposed multiple times with studies, with good studies, that there is nothing behind it. His supporters still call him Dr. Wakefield, but the doctorate was also revoked from him, because that is really a fascinating story. He had, he wanted to research whether children get autism through changes in the gut and needed blood for that. So, this is now really the absurd part, where the conspiracy theorist needs children's blood and does not order it through the hospital and through official research, but takes it at a children's birthday party, also brags about it at a research conference, and then loses his doctorate over it. Yes, it is fascinating. And above all, as I said, against the
Vaccinations only against the triple vaccination, only the triple vaccination. Exactly. And now let's guess who holds a patent for a single-measles vaccine. Yes, and what about his colleague? Yes, exactly those two. And therefore, as I said, vaccination and antisemitism do have a certain history, also in German history. What was the slogan from the Third Reich? Jewish blood is too rare, good. Yes, correct. And on the poster, a classically depicted Jew with a hooked nose and properly holding a syringe. He then hovers over the blonde, blonde-curly Jew- uh, the German child, then uh, hovering over it to vaccinate it. Yes, so back then there was already a very broad anti-vaccination scene. Has that decreased since then, or is it really increasing again, or is it a resurgence of people? So is it just a louder becoming of people who are radically against it? That is a good question. So I, I cannot really answer that, but from the, from the, I don't have any study on that or only, but from gut feeling. I think yes, so from anecdotal evidence, I would say, yes, so it is becoming more, not just louder, but actually more. It also depends on what is going on in people's heads, and if it is then more in the direction of anti-vaxxers. Yes, so as I said, anecdotal evidence, I am turning 50 this year and I can now from my circle of friends and acquaintances who are also my age, there is not a single one who is not vaccinated. So it is a very specific bubble that one perhaps does not perceive so much in one's circle of acquaintances, or if one takes most people, perhaps not, but it is quite closed off, can one say that? Yes, yes, one can say that, yes. But open and trying to recruit new members. Yes, so as I said, and what I think also blows a bit into the horn is that this Long Covid symptom is now also being treated a bit, yes, neglectfully by medicine, that it is too quickly pushed into the psychiatric lane, so to speak, in quotes, without anyone really taking the trouble to conduct the investigations on it. And that, because the cases exist, that is indisputable, but somehow they are not taken seriously, and I believe that also helps to further this anti-vaxxer bubble, because if then someone says, man, I got that from the vaccination. And if there are then no good studies proving the opposite. Yes, well, then that person is right. Then one actually has to work with anecdotal evidence. Yes, yes, and therefore, yes, it remains exciting. Yes, do we want to talk about another topic? Gladly, where you took us in the blog, for example, was Goethe and his understanding of science. Yes, I also found that very interesting, because Goethe is seen by most as a universal genius and also, for example, by Rudolf Steiner. He is also a very great Goethe follower, which one can see at the Goethe-Anum. And the article read a bit differently there. Yes, so let's say it this way, the opinion or the scientific positions that Goethe held are perhaps not entirely compatible with the natural scientific facts. At least Steiner managed to draw the parallel. Correct, that too, yes. In that sense, they really fit well together. And because he also wrote something on every topic that was not further, uh, at the tree, uh, something about it. So that is really... That is why he is universally learned. I actually know him even from geology. I am a geologist myself and he also named crystals in geology and... Yes, and it is simply, because Goethe was also so revered, already relatively early through his work, his poetic work, then one
said, yes, why? Yes, he simply cannot err on that point. So, he was essentially granted an authority that he never had. But he was also always a bit of a... There was certainly a small core to it, wasn't there, or at least a stimulus for thought, right? Yes, that's right, that's right. But let's put it this way, the reputation of the universal genius, he did not earn that with that. The term universal genius carries a lot of weight. Today, it is actually unattainable, because there is so much knowledge today. In Goethe's time, it was perhaps just barely possible? Exactly, and therefore, yes, one must say, from which era we are speaking. There was no theory of evolution yet. There was no... So there was... Newton had already been there, but he also laid the foundations. And the spectrum of ignorance in knowledge was still quite large back then. People simply speculated about how things might be. But yes, as I say, just a keyword, the aether theory, that there is no aether, then in space. Was Goethe in that sense perhaps a bit like homeopathy? It wasn't totally wrong or harmful, but simply that which causes the least harm? Yes, one could say that, yes, I think so. That he created a fertile ground for all those who came after him. But perhaps one should not take everything from him; he thought of himself that he would become much more famous for his natural scientific work, for his scientific work. He was already wrong about that. As I said, it was the same with Steiner. As I said, why not? So, if I look at this biodynamic agriculture there, how it came about. A few lectures. Exactly, exactly. And they once had a seminar in Silesia at some castle, at an estate. And it was a two-day seminar. And then he, so to speak, at night. The othe

Man sieht also auch, ohne Juden passieren schlimme Dinge. Richtig. Wow. Ja, weil was da alles, was da alles drin steht. Also quasi der klassische Bevölkerungsaustausch. Richtig, richtig. Sag mal kommt. Also da gibt es keine. Insofern, die passen also wirklich gut zusammen. J
