Responsibility · main message Hope · carrying

Political actions that contribute to the apocalypse are legitimate if they are understood as the fulfillment of a divine plan that creates a better world in the long run.

If my work leads to the end times, okay, and if that leads to us building a better world that thrives and continues to exist long after my death, then that's great too.

The text analyzes a podcast interview in which US Vice President JD Vance lays out his religious worldview. Vance refers to biblical eschatology and the Antichrist, whom he considers possible. He explains that his political work could bring about the end times, which he nonetheless accepts as part of 'God's work.' The author Nestmeyer assesses this attitude as remarkably relaxed toward the apocalypse, but concerning for political reality. It is mentioned that Vance's mentor Peter Thiel shares similar apocalyptic concerns. In addition, Vance addresses the development of artificial intelligence, which he partly describes as satanic. The text concludes with the observation that Vance insulates himself from the consequences of his actions through his belief in God's plan.

Religions The End Times Are Near: JD Vance Wants to Complete God’s Work The U.S. Vice President provided insights into his religious worldview in a podcast. In doing so, he spoke about the Antichrist, an impending end times, and the possibility that his own political actions could accelerate this development. Ralf Nestmeyer 09/07/2026 10 JD Vance during his swearing-in as Vice President, January 20, 2025. Photo: Office of the Vice President of the United States public domain JD Vance has a remarkably relaxed attitude toward the apocalypse. In a podcast interview with Bryce Crawford, a 22-year-old evangelical host with more than one million YouTube subscribers, the U.S. Vice President spoke at length about the biblical end times, the Antichrist, and his conception of his own political mandate. Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, has just released his book “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” in which he describes his path back to the Christian faith. It deals with guilt, sin, and redemption, but he also describes how much his faith now shapes his life and his work as a politician. In the conversation with Crawford, however, it became decidedly more apocalyptic. When asked about the end times, Vance explained that he had always been interested in biblical eschatology. It would not surprise him if the Antichrist were already “among us.” At the same time, he stated that he did not want to dwell too much on such ideas. Because Vance apparently has more important things to do: God’s work. “I tend to think: Even if it wouldn’t shock me if we were living in the end times, I try to focus on accomplishing as much of God’s work as possible, right now.” When Politics Becomes God’s Work Particularly noteworthy is another statement by the Vice President: “If my work leads to the end times, okay, and if that leads to us building a better world that thrives and continues to exist for a very long time after my death, then that is also great.” This is more than a strange religious worldview. Vance explicitly speaks about his own political work and about the fact that it could possibly bring about the end times. At the same time, he grants himself and his actions absolution, since the end times will come anyway. Vance is not alone in holding such views. His political and intellectual mentor, tech billionaire Peter Thiel, also deals intensively with apocalyptic scenarios. He stated that he is “concerned about the Antichrist,” whom he has characterized as “a spiritual designation for the powers of evil” or as an evil king and tyrant who appears in the end times. Vance is also concerned about the rapid development of artificial intelligence. In the conversation, he speculated about a “spiritual dark energy” and even referred to certain developments in the AI environment as satanic. In the podcast, Vance also defended Donald Trump, who had been criticized for an AI-generated image depicting him as Jesus. Trump had initially stated that he had believed the image showed him as a doctor, and later deleted the post. Vance assured that Trump had not “intended” to “mock or imitate God.” A Vice President who explains that his political work could lead to the end times and that he is fine with that operates in a remarkable coordinate system that can certainly frighten the rest of humanity. But who cares? As long as it is God’s work. Comments (10) Netiquette for Comments Your Name E-Mail The content of this field will not be publicly displayed. ALL religions worldwide are merely systems of oppression designed to make people compliant. There is no real God, nor any other gods; these are merely fear-inducing inventions of powerful and greedy people, and ordinary people always fall for this deception, in order to keep them compliant and fearful, so that they can be easily manipulated. Januar 2025. Foto: Office of the Vice President of the United States public domain JD Vance hat ein bemerkenswert entspanntes Verhältnis zur Apokalypse. But who cares ? Hauptsache, es ist Gottes Werk. Kommentare (10) Netiquette für Kommentare Ihr Name E-Mail Der Inhalt dieses Feldes wird nicht öffentlich zugänglich angezeigt.
