# 321 Letting Go of Attachments

Consciously letting go of attachments is the way to end the suffering caused by clinging and to recognize the original, radiant nature of mind, which leads to a broader perspective that benefits all.

However, when we let go of our attachments, it seems as though we are losing our identity, which is why we are overwhelmed by even more intense suffering. At the same time, it becomes more difficult to maintain our own physical form.

The text is an episode of the podcast 'Compassionate Buddha' in which Abbess Denia Rositzki reads a daily reminder of the Buddhist teaching on letting go of attachments. The core message is that firmly clinging to things, people, or one's own identity intensifies suffering and narrows the mind. As an example, attachment to a partner is mentioned, which can make life more difficult. A warning is given that unresolved attachments can lead to fear of death and deeper suffering. At the same time, the difficulty of letting go of attachments is acknowledged, as it feels like a loss of identity. The goal of letting go is the realization of one's original nature, which is described as stronger and more radiant than a diamond. This realization is meant to lead to a broader perspective that enables one to benefit all beings and bring happiness.

Hello, welcome. I am very happy that you are here for the podcast Compassionate Buddha, your podcast for Love and World Peace. I am Denia Rositski with dama namengak dog. I am the Abbess of the Yunva Meditation Center Hamburg Yunva Dama Sa, of the Yunva Sanga of World Social Buddhism. In this episode, you will hear a daily reminder from Supreme Materialistikwanglipopsanem about letting go of attachment. Much joy. Daily fragrance of the Lotus Flower by Jikwanglipopsanem. 12.253, 26 December 2025 Lotus Buddhist Monastery. Sukamoni Buddha has given us many teachings on attachment. When we walk our path and strive to lead a correct life, it is still possible to be caught by attachments. If this attachment is not fulfilled, it can lead to much suffering. Every time an attachment remains unfulfilled, we suffer again. Therefore, Sukamoni Buddha teaches us not to attach. However, desires can be so strong that a person, even if they come to hell and suffer there, cannot give up this attachment. For illustration. Attachment to a partner can make life very difficult. It is not easy to free ourselves from something, but when we reflect on ourselves, we realize that we live our entire existence driven from attachment to attachment. Due to this lack of clarity, we do not stop listening, despite the numerous important teachings we receive. Therefore, we do not know how our life will turn out in the future, nor do we know how long we can survive. In that moment, we may suddenly become afraid of death, as we do not understand what kind of life is correct for us. We are then pulled deeper into the abyss of suffering. However, if we let go of our attachments, it seems as if we would lose our identity, which is why we are overwhelmed by even more intense sufferings. At the same time, it becomes more difficult to maintain our own physical form. If we are advised to let go of our attachments, it may also be that, after we have recognized the validity of this instruction, we no longer exist in this world. Letting go of our attachment is extremely difficult. However, if we do so, we can recognize our self-nature. This broadens our narrow view. With this broader perspective, our mind becomes much larger than the universe. This is why we strive to ensure that our own actions benefit all and can make all happy. The original nature or self-nature of all people is much stronger and firmer than a diamond, as well as more beautiful and radiant. That is our own original nature and ability. Hallo, herzlich willkommen. Viel Freude. Daily fragrance of the Lotus Flower by Jikwanglipopsanem. 12.253, 26.December 2025 Lotus Buddhist Monastery. Thank you very much, die Quangene Pofsonom.
