All human beings, regardless of origin or religion, are in the diaspora of their spiritual origin and find the way to healing and perfection through self-knowledge, virtues, and the leaving behind of human-made divisions.
We are all in a hospital and undergoing therapy. And the therapy is the therapy of life, in which I am, in a certain way, alienated from the origin, from the spiritual origin from which we all came.
The text presents Sikhism as a path of life of learning and self-knowledge beyond the body, social identity, and external religious affiliation. At its center is the deconstruction of imprints and the restoration of an inner spiritual connection. The transmitted wisdoms of the Gurus are understood as aids for unlocking a spirituality inherent in all human beings. The image of the diaspora is universalized: all human beings live in alienation from their spiritual origin. From this, a principle of guesthood is derived, which emphasizes equality and consideration toward nature. Interreligious dialogue is understood as the peeling away of human-made divisions, not as mere cultural exchange. The measure is one's own conduct in everyday life, measured by virtues and the reduction of negative tendencies such as anger, attachment, and egoism.

Welcome from the heart to our Wisdom Talk today. Yes, I am happy about the invitation, I am happy that we have gathered here and that we can go into dialogue about something we have already spoken about. That is to say, I will give an input and of course there is always the possibility to ask questions afterwards. Sikki means the life path of learning. In very simple words, we are here students, all together, and not students of mathematics in this case or of physics, but we are students of our own soul. That is in short words what Sikki means. It is about understanding who am I beyond my body, beyond my social identifications. So beyond all that which I have assumed, my social name, my religion, my supposed ethnicity, which nationality I have. So all that which actually from the outside does not make me into who I am. And to deconstruct that in the first step, in order then to be able to reconstruct oneself, and that on a spiritual level, that is the way of life of a Sikk. So it is not at all about me externally worshipping a certain God. It is not about me following certain documents, that I follow man-made rules, but rather the exact opposite is the case, that I deconstruct myself. I also very often use the word, or employ the word, decolonization of consciousness. Actually one should perhaps even say, of the unconscious. What do I do unconsciously due to my imprinting, due to my socialization, like a kind of learning? And being a Sikk means in the end, that makes a good student, a good female student, they are vigilant in the matter. They do not do it because the parents have said so or because the strict professor says, you must be attentive, but because I myself want to understand who am I actually, beyond this body, why am I here, where do I come from and where am I going. That is one part. We call this in the originally transmitted wisdoms, these are spiritual wisdoms, that have been transmitted by over 30, we say, white people, enlightened people. And that is first of all the primary access for us to wisdom. These wisdoms were written down from the 14th, 15th, 16th century and stand quasi at the center of SikkScience. In a certain way these wisdoms are ultimately only a help to arrive at the wisdoms that are inherent in us all, so regardless of background, regardless of what skin color I have, what nationality, whether I am tall or short, big nose, small nose, it all plays no role. We all have as, and that is the view of the City, as divine spiritual beings, access to this spirituality. And there are certain helps, these include timeless spiritual wisdoms, that I can ultimately inwardly in introspection deal with them. That is so one level. Further to that would be for example Mando Jotzupe, Abnamul Pechan. Know thyself, and that beyond your body. That is the task that has been given to you. But then there is also a completely different level. And that is the level of Yad Yogme Ekeko Ayah. I have come to become one. I have come to heal. All living beings that are born are seen as female students and students who quasi have something to learn. Another image would be, we are all in a hospital and go through a therapy. And the therapy is the therapy of life, where I am in a certain way alienated from the origin, from the spiritual origin, from which we all originated. Säpen, we call that. I am so to speak broken from myself, from my origin. And we all together live here in the diaspora. That unites us all. We are not in the diaspora because I as a Sikk from the Punjab in Germany
live, but we all live in the diaspora, even the so-called bio-German in Germany also lives in the diaspora. And when I have understood that once, I understand the principle of being a guest. We are all guests, no one has more rights, no one has fewer rights. Mother Nature is Mother Nature for everyone. She is not a resource that we should exploit. We do that. But it is the Earth that enables us to undergo spiritual evolution. Of course we also undergo material evolution. That is, so to speak, part of technical development and so on. But it is also, in a holistic view and way, about growing spiritually. The whole topic of healing is about becoming whole. A whole human being. I remember very clearly the last lecture, the word of perfection was discussed. And that is what it is about. Warn the resident. So the inner reflection, being completely honest with myself. A simple example, so that it does not remain so abstract. Why do I actually always get so worked up so quickly when certain things are done? Why am I here and there kuleric? Why do I dish out so quickly there? Why am I so reckless towards the environment there? First recognize my deficits. Yes, so the inner reflection, at the same time the look in the mirror, in order then to see how I use spiritual wisdom for transformation. It is always about transformation, energy, conservation law. Nothing is lost. We can only transform things. In that respect, many things that we have in science are very easy to accept from our holistic perspective. It is not that this is religion and that is science, but science researches matter, spirituality researches the soul. That is, so to speak, the guiding principle that guides us as sick people. In the end we can always measure ourselves like a thermometer, whether we were able to lower our fever or whether we still have a high fever. That is, for example, by looking at what we call the 5 Thieves, which draw energy. I am currently trying to find a good translation for that one word. Craving, anger, delusion, attachment, impermanence and egoism. I can always look for myself, where am I standing there right now. Has my attachment to the material decreased or has it even increased? Am I less angry than before or even angrier than before? And if that, so to speak, goes up, we would say, it is a regressive, so to speak, development. We are going back. If that, so to speak, goes down, I am, so to speak, heading towards the peak. The peak is, as so often, a metaphor for enlightenment, when I am standing at the very top and see everything very clearly. The over 30 enlightened ones, who had the most different backgrounds, who spoke the most different languages, all speak about the same thing. They have the same insight, because they have the same perspective. That also, in the end, answers the question about interreligious dialogue a little, that is a very clever question asked. In the city, interreligious dialogue does not mean intercultural dialogue. That is also nice, but that is on another level. We come together, I tell how we live, the others tell how they live and then we have nice festivals. That is, from our perspective, not interreligious dialogue, but interreligious dialogue means, how do I peel off the institutionalization of religion, how do I peel off what separates us humans through human-made documents and where I say, you adhere to that religion, you go to that religion, no, but the human-made peeling off, all that which separates us. These can be food regulations, these can be certain perspectives, in particular they can be beliefs. It is explicitly about leaving beliefs behind and looking only at the effect of one's own thinking and acting. So
What is a good way of life? A good way of life is: if everyone lived the way I do, would the world then be a better world or a worse world? If I can answer this question positively, we would say, I am on the right path. Again and again, the measure is not how well I speak, it is not how much abstract knowledge I have about theology, religious studies, history, and so on, but what is my conduct in everyday life? That is what counts. So two things come together in the Sikhi: that is on the one hand lived wisdom, coupled with virtues. All the virtues we can imagine, we see as desirable. To that comes first of all love. The love for oneself, the love for fellow human beings, the love for the animal world, and of course the love for nature, for Mother Earth. That guides our way of life. That is why we also look as beautiful as we do, because we leave the body as it was created by Mother Nature. We do not change it. There are always various fashion trends, sometimes it is cool to have the hair like this, sometimes it is cool to wear these clothes. Ideally, I would also wear a garment that one never changes. That inspires one even more to distance oneself from all fashion trends. So that is what it is about. Naturalness, naturalness, naturalness. All the crazy thoughts that come into one's head, if I do this with my body, or if I do that, will I become a better person, to say, no, from that you will become no better person, but above you always watches a higher wisdom of life. It will not happen in life what we want, but what happens is what life decides. And the turban is like a reminder every morning, which we tie. I remain in connection with the higher wisdom of life. That is why the turban is also not put on. That is why we do not cut our hair. That is an expression of this natural way of love. In the end, that also always reminds us of being humble. There is a higher wisdom above me. I am only a very small light in the universe. That is why humility, consideration, important turban aspects in this way of life. And in the end, I have said, hospitality is very important, and that is also for the inter-religious dialogue, where it is actually about, from our perspective, about the finding of truth. Not clinging to one's own tradition, that is our tradition, we want to preserve it as it is, because it is our tradition, but quite the opposite. How do we come closer to each other in the heart? And how can we mutually in learning together strengthen our virtues and our weaknesses, so to speak, strengthen weaknesses, strengthen, weaken, weaken? I believe, that is enough for a first input and then I will gladly answer the question. Very consciously I use no translations, because the translations that exist, and I have dealt with them very intensively, also in the context of colonization and so on, are works where I was told, are far removed from the original. And the original is written in a written language, so I call it, Gurmukhi. It is so to speak the wisdom that comes from the mouth of wisdom. That is what Gurmukhi means. This script was specifically developed by the wise, from the 14th, 15th century, based on the various Indian languages that exist, Old Hindi, Old Punjabi, and so on. The attempt was essentially to create a language that anyone who wants to walk this path of life can learn. Of course, you know better than I as a professor, the people back then were not all so educated that they could all read. That then developed only in the course of so to speak the development of printing, press, and so on. But one can see the idea, that from the very beginning it was thought very long-term, how can we preserve these timeless wisdoms so that future generations
Do you have access to that? That means, for example, Gurnanik, one of, so to speak, the most influential sages, also the first from the line of the ten direct sages, began collecting these wisdoms, including the wisdoms that were originally transmitted orally, were collected by Kabir, a very influential enlightened sage, whom many would not directly categorize within the Isik tradition, so to speak. So the canonization, so to speak, began and it was continuously, in quotation marks, one might perhaps say, professionalized, so that in the end a complete work was created, 1,430 pages. Originally it was simply called Boti, Gurbani, today it is called Guru Granth Sahib. The work encompasses the wisdoms, so to speak, of these over 30 enlightened ones. There is a second work that is absolutely central, which was compiled by the 10th sage from the direct line, Guru Gowinzing. The work is called the In Granth. This is above all important for the Sikhs who are part of the Karlsath tradition, so very committed Sikhs, who have been living exactly these virtues that I mentioned in their daily life for many, many years and who are then enabled to become part of this Karlsath brotherhood. Karlsath means, perhaps one or the other knows the word, of purity, those who are truly full of purity and love become part of this order, so to speak. But this is a special group, it is not the expectation that a Sikh who, so to speak, goes around in civilian clothes becomes part of this order, which, one might say, represents the national team. Not everyone has to play in the national team. That is a bit about the history. I have also asked about history and geography, so we are in northern India, there are wonderful carpets, or whatever, where I have already been, in Delhi, but Sikhs are widely spread. That was also in Russbritannien when I was on the tour. Exactly, originally it arose in the north of India, what is today Pakistan, for example, that is where Gonalen lived. That is where the spread took place, for example Gonalek alone traveled a great deal, also traveled to Arab countries. Gurdbubin Singh also worked far beyond the Punjab. And especially also in the course of the world wars, Sikhs were partly brought to Europe on the side, for example, of the British army, on the side of the French and so on. There was already strong spread. And then there was another very, very strong push that spread Sikhs worldwide, so to speak, Tarte 1984 the so-called Golden Temple, the Barsabin Amrit, was attacked by the Indian army. There had already been political unrest before and many years after. And this led to the fact that especially male Sikhs, because they were particularly affected by persecution, simply left the Punjab. Whoever goes to the Punjab today will find villages there that are simply empty, because everyone has emigrated. Many to Canada, America, England, Australia. But there are also large communities, for example in Kenya. In the German-speaking area an estimated 35,000 Sikhs live, most of them here in the Rhein-Main area. So that is the spread now. So insofar, from what I have also tried to present, it is a clearly universally designed religion. And it is, so to speak, a game of life, which method life finds to advance spread, so to speak. And that is often also the suffering in a certain country, where one cannot live the religion as one would like it, that then people emigrate. The enlightened ones have analyzed all scriptures. They speak very precisely about it, very in detail, how they really carried out the interreligious dialogue. So they say, that is what the Islamic scholar said. So there is a religious discussion, a bit like with Socrates. And very often one then sees in the analysis that then
the one with whom the dialogue would be conducted, at the end say, actually, if we are honest, we find that we live very superficially in separation from one another. But those who have lost the core of spirituality. There is, for example, a ferry unit, Gosti, that is exactly what it is about. And there you also learn, by the way, how to do interreligious dialogue? I would like to extend to the specific songs in the dialogue that you are conducting, from the spirit that we have just discussed. Perhaps to say, it will surely be that beforehand only briefly introduce your papal activity, because one or the other is interested and at the same time also to the founding means of every rational religion. And a little bit we also gather at the various appearances. Here we now say, the others, why does Anjali George come and so on, that is perhaps also from your perspective. I will perhaps start with a verse, only a paraphrased translation, where it is asked, that is a rhetorical question. It is a kind of stylistic device where the people who speak in metaphors, often in questions, and the answer prompts to reflect, so to speak. It never says what is one plus one, yes, it is two. But it is always a play with the images of life. And there it is asked, what is a good Muslim? And then comes the answer, a good Muslim is someone who has no fear of physical death, who accepts the higher wisdom of life and whose heart is full of love and who is forgiving. Then comes the question, who is a good Sufi? The same answer comes. Then comes, who is a good Sikh? The same answer comes. So it is always about the core of being human. The unfolding, what I meant. And that is, so to speak, the starting point for me, of course, for interreligious dialogue. Little focus on what separates us, away from what is man-made. So if we in interreligious dialogue after half an hour talk about who what is and which food prohibitions, I would spend the time according to my tradition, because it has been given to me, to talk about it. How do we come close to each other in the heart? How can we increase understanding? And very concretely, how can we together solve a concrete problem, in that case in the urban society in Frankfurt? Because what characterizes a spiritual person? One who does not create problems, but who solves problems. So, and if that is the approach, I first listen carefully in interreligious dialogue. Where is a problem? That means, the first ability in interreligious dialogue is to listen. I am listening to you because you have a problem. And the second is, I can only do this here if I leave my own soup. Am I beautiful, all the time in my community, and preach to myself there. Am I, so to speak, in my bubble, that a little bit like one's own Facebook. Always the same opinions, always the same documents and so on. But we usually only learn in two contexts. First, when I suffer. Second, when I go out of the comfort zone and am thrown into a new situation. Lying on the beach for three weeks is nice, but I do not learn much from it. But if I have a conversation with Joachim or some other person. And stumble from a perspective where I think, so, huh? That is completely foreign. It starts to work. That is why I also reach out to the young people, that is why I always inspire them. And tell them, I sit in the chair I sit in today because I left my own sauce very, very early. And that is why I would also find it important in the schools. In my university, that we much more strongly learn, all those who will also be pedagogically on the road later, techniques. How do I cooperate? What does it mean not to go into competition, but to solve a problem together. How do I listen respectfully? How do I react when someone holds an opinion that is not my opinion? So these basic methodologies.
How do I also communicate respectfully? What I'm getting today via chat, what I'm picking up there, what's being chatted about again? No greeting, no replies. This lack of commitment. These are things I have truly learned from these soft times. And it has essentially driven me into interreligious dialogue. I didn't say from the beginning that I wanted to do interreligious dialogue. Ilola Clemens and all these people came into the congregation, stepped out of their comfort zone, and went into conversation with me. And then I went out in the other direction. So it is a moving toward each other on the level of the heart. That is interreligious dialogue for me in the first step. How do I develop something like that myself in a dangerous situation? So it's about the opposite. A natural way of dealing with the body. Regardless of what is said on the outside. If today our young women have a lot of pressure, because they have to look super good while simultaneously being a mother, having a career, all these things. Then a way of life helps me that says, there is a naturalness, which is itself what is said, that every spirituality teaches. How do I remain in harmony on the physical level with nature and of course also on a soul level? That's why, it is the opposite of denial. But it's about reflecting that the body does not remain. And why does it not remain? That has a reason. What remains in the end is only the card

Also jenseits all dessen, was ich angenommen habe, meinen sozialen Namen, meine Religion, meine vermeintliche Ethnie, welche Nationalität ich habe. Also was ist eine gute Lebensweise? Zwei Dinge kommen also zusammen in der Sikki? Also es geht darum. Ganz viele in Kanada, Amerika, England, Australien. Also diese Grundmethodiken. Wie kom
