Faith is not an abstract conviction but a way of life that becomes visible in words, face, work, livelihood, and family and can bring peace in the world and Paradise in the hereafter.
that faith is not merely an abstract conviction but should be reflected as a way of life in all areas.
The sermon presents faith as a way of life that should be reflected in all areas of everyday life. It refers to a hadith according to which faith consists of more than seventy parts, from the highest confession to the small gesture of removing something obstructive from the path. Through the prophets Adam, Noah, Job, Joseph, Jacob, Ishmael, and Abraham, it is shown how faith takes shape in suffering, patience, and devotion. Faith is described as invisible but visible in words, face, work, livelihood, and family. Honesty, smiling, and trustworthy earning are named as expressions of faith. The text concludes with a call that faith is the greatest chance for peace in the world and Paradise in the hereafter, and cites a Quranic passage about the good life for the righteous.

Life is the Mirror of Faith
(13.06.2025)
Dear Brothers and Sisters! Esteemed Believers!
In the Hadith I have just recited, our Prophet informs us that faith consists of more than seventy parts. The highest of these parts is the declaration “La ilahe illallah/There is no god but Allah!”, and the lowest part is the sensitivity to remove something obstructive from the path. These two extremely different examples of our Prophet clearly show us that faith is not only an abstract belief, but should be reflected as a way of life in all areas.
Brothers and Sisters!
A look at the lives of the Prophets, who were role models in faith and submission to Allah, shows us the most beautiful examples of these reflections: In the life of Prophet Adam (a.s.), faith was the turning towards his Lord and the longing for His mercy. Prophet Noah (a.s.) endured all difficulties as a result of his faith and built the ship of salvation with patience, Tawakkul (trust in Allah), and hope. Prophet Job (a.s.), who knew that both illness and healing come from Allah, found healing through his trust in Allah. Prophet Joseph (a.s.), who was thrown into a well by his brothers, acted according to the requirements of faith, never deviated from his virtuous character, and finally became a minister in the land of Egypt. Prophet Jacob (a.s.), who truly suffered from the longing for his son, believed that his pain and his grief could only be healed by Allah. With his exemplary patience, he showed the best example – ultimately he got back both his son and his eyesight. Also, the devotion of Prophet Ishmael (a.s.), who was tested with his life, and of Prophet Abraham (a.s.), who was tested with his son, springs solely from faith. Faith is a great passion, a great concern! As the Messenger of Allah (s) expressed it: Even if they were to place the sun in his right hand and the moon in his left hand, he would not desist from it.
Esteemed Believers!
Although faith is not tangible or visible, its effects and reflections are perceptible, visible, and experiential. Faith is reflected in a person’s words: A person whose tongue everyone is certain of and from whom no one fears harm is called a “Mumin” (Believer). Faith shows itself in the face: A believing person who understands smiling as an expression of their devotion to Allah should not be stingy with their smile. Faith is also reflected in work: A believing person who sees honesty and legitimate (halal) earnings as the foundation of their work must always be trustworthy. If faith is reflected in livelihood, the table is blessed with abundance (Baraka); if it is reflected in the family, the home is filled with happiness.
Dear Brothers and Sisters! Let us never forget that faith is our greatest opportunity. Faith is an opportunity that can fill the world with peace and well-being, and bring us Paradise in the Hereafter. Let us all be a living embodiment of faith!
I would like to conclude my sermon with a glad tidings from our exalted Lord, which He announces to those who believe in Him and trust in Him: “Whoever does righteous deeds – whether male or female – and is a believer, We will surely grant them a good life and reward them abundantly for the best of their deeds.”

Das Leben ist der Spiegel des Glaubens
(13.06.2025)
Liebe Geschwister!
