True life and eternal salvation are achieved only through the daily, humble discernment of God's will and the following of Jesus Christ, not through human self-logic or worldly standards.

It is not our way of thinking that must ultimately define what we have to do, but what God wants from us.

The text defines the theological concept of 'Discernimento' (discernment) as the process of recognizing God's will in everyday life. It draws on biblical readings from Jeremiah, Psalm 63, the Letter to the Romans, and the Gospel of Matthew. Discernment is presented as necessary at the individual, family, and ecclesial level. A central criterion is alignment with Jesus Christ rather than with worldly standards or human self-logic. The text warns against relying solely on human authorities and encourages daily reflection on one's own actions. A prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe is included, asking for help in discernment. In addition, current social issues such as care for creation and the fate of disappeared persons are addressed.

"You seduced me, Lord, and I was seduced… There was in me like a burning fire." Indeed, as the prophet Jeremiah says, God sows within man uneasinesses before the reality we live, and moves our heart to intervene to help those who need it. Therefore, we responded to this reading with the psalm singing: "Lord, God, my soul thirsts for you. Lord. You are my God, you I seek, of you is thirsty my soul". The apostle Saint Paul, in the second reading, goes in the same key, exhorting us saying: "By the mercy that God has manifested to you, I exhort you to offer yourselves… Do not let yourselves be transformed by the criteria of this world… know how to distinguish what is the will of God". That is discernment. We must always give ourselves time in the day. What does God want from me today? And that discernment must take into account the realities, that we are touching during that day in relation with others, with our society, with the whole world. Discernment is, therefore, fundamental, both in an individual way, but it is also necessary in a communal way. Thus we will know how to distinguish what God expects from me personally, and from us as family, community, parish, diocesan Church, etcetera. In the Gospel of Saint Matthew, discernment we must do having as fundamental criterion Jesus Christ and his teachings. Thus we will achieve eternal life in heaven. In effect, Saint Matthew affirms: "Jesus began to announce to his disciples that he had to suffer… on the part of the elders,… be condemned to death and rise on the third day". Jesus transmits to them what he is warning in his historical context. And Peter, the Gospel tells us, tried to dissuade him, but Jesus, addressing Peter, said to him: "Depart from me, Satan". What a harsh expression to his disciple, to whom he had entrusted being head of the community. When we only pretend to please the authority and not what God wants from us, we act like Peter, we err. We are Satan for the other, doing what we should not do. That is what Jesus says when he continues saying: "‘Your way of thinking is not that of God, but that of men". Here he leaves us a fundamental criterion: It is not our way of thinking that has to define, in the last instance, what we must do, but what God wants from us. And therefore it is so important to give ourselves time, whether early in the morning, or in the night, to ask ourselves, before the circumstances of that day, what does God ask from me? How must I act before such or such situation that is presenting itself? Therefore he finishes saying Jesus to his disciples: "Whoever wants to come with me, let him renounce himself, let him take his cross and follow me,… because whoever loses his life for my sake will find it". That is the guarantee. Being a disciple of Jesus, forming part of this community, and always discerning what God wants from me, guarantees us eternal life beside the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and Mary. Therefore, because our mother was the one who fully fulfilled these instructions. Let us ask her that for that she came, that she helps us also to discover what God the Father expects from my life and from my conduct. Let us open our heart to her, and let us express to her our needs of aid from her part. Our Mother, Mary of Guadalupe, remembering that you came to make known the true God by whom one lives, we ask you to help us to be good and faithful disciples of your Son, said Jesus, guiding our life according to his teachings and thus arrive at the house of God the Father and enjoy eternal life. Therefore, dear mother, help us to be good administrators of the goods of nature in this world and to teach the new generations to make good use of it, since it is the common house of humanity. On this day, we also place in your hands all the mothers, fathers, children, and siblings who, in their search, live the profound pain of not knowing where one or several of their missing loved ones are. Undoubtedly, to fulfill these responsibilities, fostering brotherhood and solidarity in all areas of everyday life will help us greatly, consolidating good and lasting foundations that make it possible to achieve the civilization of love. All the faithful present here this Sunday commend ourselves to you, who shine in our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. O merciful, O compassionate, O sweet Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. Amen. “Me sedujiste, Señor, y me dejé seducir…
