True remembrance of the Prophet does not consist in mere celebration, but in the active transfer of his ethical virtues, such as humility and justice, into one's own life.

In the Messenger of Allah you have a fine example for everyone who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often.

The text is a Friday sermon by the DITIB, written on the occasion of the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. It calls on believers not only to remember the Prophet, but to understand his life and to imitate him as a model. As a central foundation, the Quranic verse 33:21 is cited, which describes the Prophet as a 'fine example.' The text lists numerous ethical virtues of the Prophet, including humility, justice, kindness, and patience. It is emphasized that the Prophet himself performed simple tasks and renounced honors. The sermon concludes with the wish that the Mawlid night be followed by a spiritual renewal for humanity. The call is directed at the congregation to integrate these virtues into their everyday lives.

To Remember the Prophet (s), to Understand Him, and to Live According to His Example (29.08.2025) Today is Friday, the 6th of Rebiulewwel 1447. May our Friday be blessed! The coming Wednesday is the 12th of Rebiulewwel – the 1500th anniversary of the birth of our Prophet Muhammed Mustafa (s). May the Mewlid en-Nebi already be an occasion for blessing and good. Dear brothers and sisters! Honored Muslims! To remember the Prophet is certainly beautiful. But even more beautiful is the effort and attempt to understand him. To understand him is very valuable. But even more valuable is to try to transfer his exemplary life into our own life. Allah, the Exalted, expresses this fact in the following verse: "In the Messenger of Allah you have a beautiful example for everyone who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and often remembers Allah."1 Dear brothers and sisters! Let us recall some of the exemplary behaviors of our Prophet. And let us also resolve to let these beauties flow into our own lives: Our Prophet was sent to perfect good moral character.2 He was the person with the most beautiful moral character.3 His moral character was the moral character of the Quran.4 The Prophet Muhammed (s) was known for his courage and his trustworthiness.5 He was kind, gentle, polite, and of noble character. He was never rough or hard-hearted. He never shouted at anyone and not a single hateful word came over his lips. He did not seek faults in his counterpart, was not stingy, and never disappointed anyone who expected something from him.6 He was extremely patient;7 toward negative behaviors directed against his person, he acted as if he did not notice them,8 but in negative actions in matters concerning the religion, he showed his reaction.9 He always wished that the believers would be united like a single body.10 He was the most beautiful, most generous, and bravest of all people.11 Toward women he was exceedingly respectful and kind,12 toward his family he was full of mercy. He spoke clearly and distinctly, so that everyone could understand him.13 He did not like unnecessary talk.14 He did not gossip and did not speak ill of those absent.15 Our Prophet (s) was filled with love. He never considered himself superior or as something better, but lived in humility. He mended his clothes himself, milked his sheep, and did his work with his own hands.16 When he joined a group, he did not take a place of honor, but sat where there was just a place. He treated the elderly with respect and the young with mercy.17 In his life he always chose simplicity.18 The Messenger of Allah paid attention to the rights of his fellow human beings.19 He never caused inconvenience to his neighbors.20 He entrusted tasks to those suited for them,21 and made no exceptions for certain persons. He always placed justice first and gave everyone their right.22 He placed great value on consultation23 and then stood firmly behind the decision made. May Allah, our exalted Creator, make us people whose intentions are pure and whose character is beautiful! May He never lead us astray from the path of our Prophet! May the approaching Mewlid en-Nabi become a spiritual rebirth and renewal for all of humanity!
