The praise of Allah is not a mere formula, but a comprehensive way of life that must be reflected in the word, heart, mind, will, possessions, upbringing, senses, and actions of the believer.
Praise with the tongue is to say "Alhamdulillah" and to extol Allah; the praise of the heart is to love Allah more than anything else. The praise of the mind is to recognize the connection between the Creator and the created.
The text explains the name of Allah, Al-Hamîd, and the praise "Alhamdulillâhi Rabbi'l-Âlamîn" as a central expression of faith. It unfolds that praise is not merely spoken word, but is manifested in the heart, mind, will, possessions, life, upbringing, senses, and actions. The Prophet Muhammad is presented as a model who praised Allah in all life situations. The listeners are encouraged to perform deeds that please Allah and to do good for humanity. The text concludes with a plea to be gathered under the banner of praise on the Day of Judgment and to enter Paradise with the words of praise. There is no explicit reference to current political or social events.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds
(07.11.2025)
One of the beautiful names of Allah is Al-Hamîd.1 "Al-Hamîd" means that Allah is the One who is worthy of all praise. Our exalted Lord is worthy of all praise, for He creates everything in a perfect manner.2 All praise is due to Allah, for He accomplishes everything in measure, balance3 and wisdom.4
The most beautiful expression of praise is the word "Alhamdulillâhi Rabbi'l-Âlamîn". This means: "All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds." These are the first words of the noble Qur'an5 and at the same time the first words of our pledge of loyalty to Allah, which we renew with every prayer. They are also the first words that will come to the lips of the believing person upon entering Paradise.6
Dear brothers and sisters! Esteemed believers!
In the Qur'an, Allah commands us to give thanks to Him and to praise Him.7 But the praise of God is not only the spoken word "Alhamdulillah". The praise with the tongue is to say "Alhamdulillah" and to extol Allah; the praise of the heart is to love Allah more than anything else. The praise of the mind is to recognize the connection between the Creator and the created. The praise of the will is to make just and right decisions. The praise of wealth is to use the gifts of Allah in His pleasure. The praise of our life is to remember Allah with every breath. The praise of children is to raise them to be virtuous and God-fearing people. The praise of the eyes is to see the beauty of creation, the praise of the ears, to listen to the commands and prohibitions of Allah. The praise of the hands is to do work well and neatly, and the praise of the feet, to walk on the path of Allah.
Brothers and sisters!
When we look at the life of our Prophet, we see that he always praised Allah. The Prophet of Mercy (s) said: "Every matter that does not begin with the praise of Allah is incomplete."8 He always had the word "Alhamdulillah" on his lips. Our Prophet began every new day with praise.9 After eating and drinking, he praised Allah.10 When he put on a new garment,11 when he relieved a need,12 yes, even in moments of grief he found comfort in praise.13 When something beautiful happened to him, he praised Allah and turned to Him. When something displeased him, he praised Allah and thereby showed his devotion.14
Brothers and sisters!
If we wish to have a share in Allah's name Al-Hamîd, we should perform deeds that please Allah and do good for humanity. Our praise should be reflected in our word, heart and action – in times of joy and of trial. May Allah not remove us from His servitude, from praise and from gratitude. May He gather us on the Day of Judgment under the "Banner of Praise," which the Prophet will carry.15 May Allah count us among those who – as in prayer – enter Paradise with the words "Alhamdulillâhi Rabbi'l-Âlamîn"! Lob sei Allah, dem Herrn der Welten
(07.11.2025)
