Cultivate the Love for the Infinite Whole - Daily Inspiration

Sukadev Bretz · Yoga Vidya – Tägliche Inspirationen · 2026-09-12 · Horn-Bad Meinberg · Source

Gratitude · carrying Humility · carrying Community

Lasting contentment does not arise from accumulating possessions or enhancing the ego, but from the realization that the limited is a revelation of the Infinite and that love for the whole overcomes attachment to the individual.

True love for a person allows one to behold the Infinite in that person. True perception of the beauty in a single flower allows one to see the revelation of the garden.

The text interprets excerpts from the book 'Sardhana' and emphasizes the necessity of placing love for the infinite whole above attachment to the individual. It argues that clinging to material things or egoistic abilities separates the soul from the higher essence and generates dissatisfaction. The speaker illustrates this with the example of the pursuit of wealth and status, which never permanently satisfies, since the human being strives for the Infinite. As a solution, it is proposed to regard the limited as a revelation of the Infinite and to use wisdom for inner meditation. The ability to recognize the Eternal in a person or a flower is defined as true love and perception. The text calls for releasing oneself from the transient pursuit toward the Eternal and developing gratitude for small things, since they are an expression of the Divine.

I read something from the book *Sardhana*. Cultivate the love for the infinite Whole, to love something particular, these individual wholes. It is not possible to partake in the joy of the fullness of Being in an appearance thereof, in a part. Attachment to the particular deprives the human being of the capacity for love of the Whole. Love for the Absolute lets us all drink the unstaple essence, where at night there is no more worry and no more weeping. The display of abilities brings physical comfort through contact with objects, elevates the ego, rises the sense of individuality. Comforts represent a childishness for the higher striving of the soul. Therefore, use wisdom for the purpose of inner meditation and perceive purposes and not for outer striving in the world. True wisdom is that which opens the door to infinite life. Two aspects of the spürritorln path. One is that we want to experience the Infinite, the Eternal, the Whole. Only that will ultimately satisfy us. For every part is in the midst of change and is never sufficiently large. Therefore, humans always strive for something new. If we have anything, we immediately want to have more. If we have that too, we want to have something else. If we have much, then perhaps we have the problem of not knowing at all what we want, then we only look to see if there are others who have what I have, so we want to have more. Even people who have 100 billion dollars, they still want to have more, they then want to have the most. And then, when they have the most, it becomes boring, they want to have power. And then, when it comes to conflicts, they again hope for our further. Of course, most of us do not have 100 billion euros now. And so we think, yes, there is somewhere such a constant, it was once established, every human being thinks that if he had 40 percent more, he would be satisfied. And no matter how much, one only has 40 percent more, then he would be satisfied. Whatever that lasts six months to two years. And then it is again 40 percent more. Why are we dissatisfied? Because the human being knows that actually the Infinity belongs to him. And if we strive towards limited direction, there is always an error. However, if we take the Limited as a revelation of the Infinite, then we can perceive the Infinite in the Limited. True love for a human being lets the human being behold the Infinity. True perception of the beauty in a single flower lets the revelation of the garden-like be. It is that we think, I must have the flower now and I need this now, I must now pluck it, I must preserve it, so I must now build a fence around it and so on, then we are again attached. The vastness, the Infinity. The second thing he also said there was about ourselves, we can be proud of something, I am clever, I am intelligent, I have understood something, I am crafty, I am creative, I can tscholl the season here. It is of course better than one daugels, better one says. So from the Tamasic to the Rajasic it is already better, Tamasic, I can, I go there, I am better, I must become better, I must still show, he seems better, I must also surpass him. There is always someone who is still better. If he is not better now, then there is someone somewhere, or it seems so that others do not see it. Good, and the majority is in the majority of the ability one has, not better than the others. Then one is dissatisfied. And even if we were, we would also be dissatisfied. Because that is actually striving and it is the striving, why we want to be more, is, we know, we are one with the Infinite, we are one with the Eternal. And everything apparent, where we are good or want to be better, is only is limited and never satisfies. Therefore, we turn from the transient to the eternal. And we may perhaps regard the small abilities as a revelation of the Garden. And so we can be grateful for the small, beautiful things, for the abilities we have. Not because we are better and so on, but because God expresses Himself through them. And in such tooth envy leads.

Deshalb menschen immer wieder nach was neuem strebt.
