The last two verses of Surah al-Baqara are a gift of the Miraj that grants believers fresh confidence each day, because Allah does not burden anyone with a load they cannot bear, and His mercy encompasses all sins if one believes in His oneness.
No burden is placed upon a person that they cannot bear. The divine law is clear and unambiguous: "Leha ma kesebet ve 'aleyha mektesebet."
The text is a DITIB Friday sermon that builds on the Night of the Miraj (the Prophet's ascension). It presents three gifts of the Miraj: the five daily prayers, forgiveness for believers in Tawhid, and the last two verses of Surah al-Baqara (Amenerrasulu). The preacher explains the significance of these verses, particularly the confession of faith in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers, as well as submission to God's will. A central motif is divine mercy: Allah does not place on anyone a burden they cannot bear. Believers are encouraged to recite these verses daily and to seek refuge in God's forgiveness. The text closes with a supplication for love of prayer, forgiveness, and protection. There is no explicit reference to contemporary political or social events.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
"Every one of them believed in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers…"
And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever recites the two verses from the end of the Surah al-Baqarah in a night, they will suffice him."
We hear and obey
(16.01.2026)
Last night, we were permitted to observe the blessed Laylat al-Miraj, in which our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) was permitted to ascend to the presence of Allah. May Allah the Exalted accept the supplications we have spoken in this night and count us among His righteous servants who draw lessons from the Miraj and live their servitude with this awareness.
Brethren! Dear believers!
Our Prophet (s.a.s.) returned from this unique journey with three great gifts for his Ummah:[1] The first is the five-times ritual prayer (Salat), which is our appointment with Allah and the remedy for our worries. It is also the Miraj of all believers. The second gift is the glad tidings that those who believe in the oneness of Allah, live in the faith of Tawhid, and ascribe no partner to Allah, can attain forgiveness through divine mercy – no matter how great their sins may be. The third gift of the Miraj is the last two verses of the Surah al-Baqarah, which we know as "Amenerrasulu" – and about which we will speak today.
Honored believers!
About these two verses, our Prophet (s.a.s.) said that whoever recites them in the night, they will suffice him in that night.[2] They begin with the meaningful declaration of faith: "Amene'r-Rasulu bima unzile ileyhi min Rabbihi we'l-mu'minun..." – The Messenger (of Allah) believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers who follow him in devotion. "Kullun amene billahi ve melaiketihi ve kutubihi ve rusulih…" All of them believe in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, and in His Messengers. They say: "We make no distinction among His Messengers." They are those believers who respond to everything that comes from their Lord with: "Semi'na ve ata'na" O Allah! We hear Your call and obey Your messages. We believe in the Hereafter and in destiny! "Ğufraneke Rabbena ve ileykel mesir!" – Forgive us, O Allah! Let us attain Your infinite forgiveness! We know: From You is our coming and to You is our return.
In the continuation, our Creator reminds us of the limit of human endurance and responsibility: "La yukellifullahu nefsen illa wus'aha" – No burden is placed upon a person beyond what he can bear. The divine law is clear and unambiguous: "Leha ma kesebet ve 'aleyha mektesebet." Every good deed is for our own benefit, every evil deed is to our own detriment. In the awareness of this great responsibility, we acknowledge our weakness and turn to Allah the Exalted with the following words: "Our Lord! Do not hold us accountable if we forget or make a mistake! Do not place upon us any burden like those You placed upon those before us! Do not burden us with anything we are not able to bear!" "We'fuanna, Weğfirlena, verhamna." Forgive us, pardon us, and have mercy on us. "Ente Mevlâna fensurna 'alel qavmil kafirin." You are our Lord – so help us against the people who deny the truth.[3]
Brethren! Let us renew our faith every night with the meaning of these verses, seek refuge in the boundless mercy of our Lord when we make mistakes, and fall asleep with the certainty: "I have a Lord who does not place upon me any burden that I cannot bear." And let us start each new morning with the dignity of a believer who has entrusted himself to the mercy of Allah.
Our Lord! Grant us the love of the ritual prayer, the gift of the Miradch, and the hope for Your forgiveness. Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Make us Your servants who receive Your infinite love and are honored in both worlds. (Amin)

Wir hören und gehorchen
(16.01.2026)
“Kullun amene billahi ve melaiketihi ve kutubihi ve rusulih…”
Geschwister!
(Amin)
