True Islam is based on the Quran and Sunna; the misuse of these values by political groups endangers the unity of the Umma and must be countered by a return to authentic knowledge and the protection of the community.

Our task today is not to be deceived by the language and words of such people and groups who divide society, restrict religion to their own understanding, and promote fanaticism and division.

The text emphasizes the central importance of the Quran and the Sunna as the unshakeable foundations of Islam. It warns that religious values are being misused by illegal groups and organizations to pursue political goals. As a historical example, the coup attempt ten years ago is mentioned, which caused great damage through the misuse of religion in state institutions. Believers are called upon not to be deceived by the rhetoric of such splinter groups. Instead, authentic religious knowledge should be drawn from trustworthy sources and lived out in everyday life. A particular focus is placed on protecting families and society as a whole from violence and harmful currents. The text calls for preserving the unity of the Umma and standing against fanaticism and division.

The Importance of Authentic Religious Knowledge (10.07.2026) Dear Believers! The two fundamental and unshakeable foundations of our noble religion, Islam, are the Noble Quran and the Sunnah. Since our Prophet (s), all Muslims have built their faith, their acts of worship (Ibadah), and their understanding upon authentic knowledge derived from the Quran and the Sunnah. For they have taken the following Hadith of the Prophet (s) as their guide: “I leave behind two things. As long as you hold fast to them, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet.”1 Those who held firmly to the Quran and the Sunnah found the straight path and simultaneously contributed to others finding the right path. In contrast, throughout history, there have always been people who distanced themselves from the Quran and the Sunnah and distorted the truth for the sake of their own interests, positions, and desires. Allah warns us in this regard with the words: “O mankind! The promise of Allah is true, so let not the worldly life delude you, and let not the deceiver (Satan) delude you regarding Allah.”2 Dear Muslims! Illegal groups and organizations that operate under the guise of religion and misuse sacred values through a false interpretation of the religion have led people astray and harmed the understanding of religion based on the Quran and the Sunnah, as well as the unity and cohesion of the Ummah. As was clearly evident in the coup attempt ten years ago, these structures, which infiltrated state institutions through the misuse of religion, not only harmed the understanding of religion but also caused great suffering. Our task today is not to be deceived by the rhetoric and words of such people and groups who divide society, limit the religion to their own understanding, and promote fanaticism and division. Our task today is to learn our noble religion from trustworthy and authentic sources and to reflect the authentic religious knowledge based on the Quran and the Sunnah in all areas of our lives. Let us now work with all our might to protect, above all, our families, but also all parts of our society, from any form of abuse, violence, and harmful currents. Let us heed the admonition of the Messenger of Allah (s): “How wretched is the person who misuses religion for worldly purposes! How wretched is the person whose own desires and lusts lead him astray from the right path!”3 May Allah not let us deviate from the path of the Quran and the Sunnah, enable us to perform deeds that meet His pleasure, and protect us from all evil.
