Truthfulness
The shared Kibla of the Kaaba is a divinely ordained focal point that preserves the unity of the Umma across all differences and orients both body and heart toward Allah.
However many differences there may be among us, our direction is one and the same. Hearts that turn toward the same Kaaba cannot meet one another in hostility.
The text is an Islamic sermon (khutbah) on the Kaaba as Kibla, that is, as the direction of prayer for Muslims. It describes how Muslims worldwide face the same direction in every prayer, and interprets this as a sign of the unity of the Umma. The Quranic verse Surah al-Baqarah 2:144 is cited to substantiate the divine ordination of the Kibla. A tradition reports that the Prophet Muhammad redirected the prayer toward the Kaaba in the middle of its performance. The text emphasizes that the Kibla means not only physical but also spiritual and heartfelt devotion to Allah. Hadiths are cited to understand the Kibla as a symbol of community and protection among Muslims. In the present-day context, differences such as nationality, politics, and society are named as dividing factors, to which the shared Kibla stands as a unifying element. The text concludes with a prayer for unity, brotherhood, and the firming of hearts on the path of guidance.

Dear Muslims!
Imagine how millions of people on Earth turn in the same direction every day. Their languages are different, their skin colors are different, their countries are different. But when the time for prayer comes, they turn in the same direction. This is a great gift bestowed upon the Ummah. The Kaaba is not just a structure made of stones. It is the Qibla. And the Qibla is a divine center that gives us believers orientation, unites their hearts, and keeps the consciousness of the Ummah alive.
In the Quran, Allah says: “We saw you turning your face toward the sky; now We shall turn you to a Qibla that shall please you. So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque.” [1] With this verse, the Kaaba became the Qibla of all Muslims. Thus, believers testify and proclaim day by day that they serve the same Creator, believe in the same Prophet, and belong to the same Ummah.
The Messenger of Allah (s) and his Companions had performed their prayers in the direction of al-Quds for a long time. When our Prophet (s) was leading a prayer in the mosque of the Banu Salima, the verse concerning the Qibla was revealed. In the middle of the prayer, our Prophet and the congregation behind him turned toward the Kaaba and continued their prayer.
Beloved brothers and sisters!
Our Prophet (s) said: “When any one of you turns toward the Qibla, he has turned toward Allah.” [2] Therefore, the Qibla is not only the direction of our body, but also the direction of our heart. If in prayer our face is turned toward the Kaaba, but our heart wanders in the worries of daily life, we cannot grasp the true meaning of the Qibla. What matters is that, along with the body, the heart also turns toward Allah.
In another narration, our Prophet (s) says: “Whoever prays our prayer, turns toward our Qibla, and eats what we slaughter is a Muslim under the protection of Allah and His Messenger.” [3] This narration shows us that the Qibla is a symbol of the unity of the Ummah. Even if we live in different parts of the world, the fact that we turn toward the same Qibla reminds us that we are part of the same Ummah.
Dear Muslims!
Today, there are many reasons that can separate us from one another. Nationalities, geographical borders, political views, social differences, and worldly interests are just a few of them. But the Qibla teaches us a truth every day: No matter how many differences there may be among us, our direction is one. Hearts that turn toward the same Kaaba cannot meet each other in enmity.
May our Creator make us servants whose Qibla and whose path are equally sincere. May He turn our hearts toward Him as they turn toward the Kaaba. May He make us servants who preserve the consciousness of the Ummah and serve unity and brotherhood.
O Allah! Firmly establish our hearts on the path of guidance. Make us servants who do not lose their Qibla and do not lose sight of their path. Grant the Ummah of Muhammad unity, well-being, and brotherhood. Amen!

Verehrte Muslime!
Amin!
