Gratitude · main message Humility · carrying Responsibility

True gratitude towards God consists in recognizing every received gift, from intellect to health, as grace and responding to it through humility, prayer, and conscious action, rather than taking it for granted.

When one sees such people, one should be ashamed to quarrel and fight with them. Thank God that Allah has blessed you with all gifts and blessings and has not deprived you of them.

The text is a Friday sermon by the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya, which deals with the topic of gratitude (Shukr) towards God. As central examples, anecdotes from the life of the 'Promised Messiah' (Mirza Ghulam Ahmad) are cited, which illustrate his humility and constant remembrance of divine gifts. One story describes how the Messiah, upon observing a madman who will not be held accountable, urges the believers to be grateful for their sound mind and intellectual abilities. Another example shows how the Messiah, upon observing a dancer who works for little money, reflects on his own negligence in prayer and in gratitude towards God. The text emphasizes that even everyday actions such as eating or the use of remedies should serve as an occasion for gratitude towards God. It warns against taking divine gifts for granted, and the listeners are called upon to examine their own gratitude in prayer and action. The sermon combines theological interpretations with concrete behaviors of the Prophet to promote an ethical attitude of humility and the recognition of one's own dependence on God.

So, when the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, drew the attention of his companions to the cheek of gratitude, Hazrat Bir Sirajul Haq Sahib Nomanee reports that on one occasion the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, asked him: "What did you argue about today with Miram Bachs the Madman?" There was a slightly mad man present, and after he had presumably engaged in discussion, he recounted: "I became afraid. How would the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, now react? He must have heard all our words. Full of foreboding, I replied to him with the entire factual situation. A mad, insane person is Marful Kalam. This means he is a person who is not of sound mind, and for whom, according to the Sharia, neither good nor bad deeds are recorded, and who will not be held accountable for his sins. And on the scale, he has no grip. He has said that such people, in such a state, whatever they say or do, will not be held accountable for it. They have no intellect at all; how, then, can they be held responsible? Only the one who possesses intellect is held accountable. The Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, says that the world is accustomed to calling such people Madzhub, Waliullah, or Honorable Guttub. However, this is incorrect. In reality, these people are neither Madzhub nor Waliullah. They are, these people remain outside. That is to say, they are deprived of all divine gifts; consequently, they are deprived of intellect, of intelligence, of clothing, of the enjoyment of food and drink, of the gifts through wife and children, of their upbringing, as well as of their spiritual reward. They are deprived of the recognition and comprehension of Allah. They are deprived of the knowledge of the essence and attributes of Allah. They are deprived of the sublimity of the Messenger and Prophet, as well as of his succession and obedience. They are deprived of the recitation of the Holy Quran and its meaning, as well as of its insights and depths, insights and secrets. They are deprived of the Sharia and of the spiritual path. Furthermore, they are deprived of the prayer, which is the ascension of the believer, of fasting, whose special reward is Allah Himself, of the rituals of Hajj as well as of Zakat, and further of the attainment of their rewards and spiritual ranks. When one sees such people, one should refrain from arguing and fighting with them. One should thank God that Allah has blessed you with all gifts and blessings and has not deprived you of them. He has given you intellect and intelligence. And He has blessed you with the recitation of the Holy Quran, its knowledge, its secrets and its depths, insights and subtleties. He has granted you the ability to distinguish between Halal and Haram in all matters. He has given you the ability to recognize the Messengers, and to possess knowledge of His essence and His attributes. While he thus instructed not to argue with people who are Marful Kalam, but to treat them well, he simultaneously taught gratitude for the gifts bestowed by Allah. He pointed out that upon seeing such people, we should thank Allah that He has equipped us with all these blessings. Similarly, Malik Hassan, the Feis Masees, went for the Fajr prayer. After the Namaas, Jesus addressed the Khuddam and said: "Where were the instruments played during the night? At some point in the neighborhood, music and singing were heard. Someone answered: Hassan bin Misanisamuddin has invited a dancer; he was accustomed to doing such things and had promised her 20 Rupin for the night. He was to pay her 20 Rupin, and over there, at Misanisamuddin’s place, dancing took place. The Feis Masees, may Allah grant him peace, sighed deeply and spoke: "Oh Allah, how conscious of her faith she is." He meant the dancer and said: she is conscious of her faith, for for 20 Rupin she has danced and sung all night, has stayed awake. While we, for our Creator and Master, who He has been blessed with countless graces, these words the Feis repeated and had to repeat them several times. Even upon seeing the deeds of these purchasable women, he directed his gaze to fulfill the rights of Allah. And full of pain, he first expressed that these people sacrifice their sleep during per Rupin, while we do not even express our gratitude for the countless graces of Allah, asking the voluntary and asking the obligatory, and cannot wake up. Rather, there are many who are even negligent in performing the obligatory prayers. Waking up for the obligatory prayer is difficult for us. Therefore, every Ahmadi should conduct a self-examination in this regard and ask to what extent we fulfill our duty of gratitude towards Allah. The image of Huzur’s gratitude during eating is described by Huzad Sheyh Muhammad Ismail, himself to Dua Dif, the following masses. He says, it was the manner of the feist Messiah, al-Sama, that he always said Subhan Allah, Abdullah, while eating. And so he spoke, as if he were searching for something. He himself, with every bite, always considered the gifts of God and thanked Him while eating. Thus Muslim or Zira Tal Anhu says this regarding. We have observed the feist Messiah that he likewise observed. It was his manner and his habit that when he ate bread, then he took a small piece of bread and put it in his mouth. And it was basic caution so that he chewed as long as the Zehne could make smaller. It was not his habit to take a large bite, but he always took a small bite. While he chewed this first bite for a long time, he took another piece of bread, he cut his hands and always spoke like the Subhan Allah, Holy is Allah. After a Walle he spread a piece of it with sauce and put it in his mouth. This is reported by Sayyid Zainal Abuddin Walillah Shah Sahib. Since I was still young and also because the feist Messiah, that he my father, Dr. Sayed Abdul Sattar Shah Sahib, used to host as a guest in his own house, we lived in the house like family with everyone. We went in and out completely unreserved and also slept in Hazur’s house. He said, I still remember it very well. Whenever the pest spread in the city or in the place, the feist Messiah used not only to give the instruction to clean his own house, but also the cleaning of the dormitory. He gave all communities, went through the instructions in their houses through the use of sulfur, fire, Fennül and Google, Maastricht, to kill bacteria. Google is the resin of a tree that is used for fumigation. He used to say that the use of worldly means is also a form of gratitude for the gift of Allah. Also this is a grace of Allah, for which one must be thankful, that He has created such things. He has created the use of the use of the use of such things. The Engengelmittel represent for these diseases. In times of such epidemics, in which the environment is polluted, garbage arises or poison spreads. He says that they should thank Allah for His grace in this way and this is equivalent to the observance of His command. He renounces any means that contradicts the divine Sharia. That is, not to use the means also contradicts the Sharia. The rank of God’s trust comes only after that. This means that one must not rely solely on the application of means, but the true recognition consists in. Behind the means is to see the Allahs. That, which I apply, is also created by Allah. Allah creates us with it for good. One should be grateful to Him for that. If the human always keeps this in view, he will always express gratitude to Allah. Mohammed Ibrahims has reported that the Freiste Messiah in the year 1904 because of the process of Qarmuddin in Gurdarsboudwailte and thereby said, says, also this humbler considered himself He spent a month in the service of the Hesurs in Gurdarsboudwailte. One day, a friend from Multan brought fresh ripe dates. Another friend remarked that these were heating. The gentleman who had brought the dates replied, eat as many of these dates as you wish, and then consume onions, and you will have no complaints whatsoever. This was the traditional home remedy of the elders. It was that, after consuming warming foods, one would eat an onion, thereby neutralizing the effect. The Promised Messiah then remarked that Allah has provided excellently, in that a countermeasure exists for everything. That is, to protect oneself from negative effects, another remedy is also available. One can eat as many mangoes as one wishes, he said. Diabetics are often told they should not eat mangoes, as these are very sweet. He says, it is simply Jambul fruit afterwards. Jambul fruit is also a remedy for diabetics. No complaints will arise. Take the banana, which is very warming, and turn its disadvantages into advantages. Eat as much as you wish, and then chew a little raw rice. Everything will be digested well. In the village, he also delivered a speech on the fact that he is grateful for the people, for whom a person cannot even approximately give sufficient thanks. The Promised Messiah expressed, in the composition of his work, which was just being published by Shadad Dan, his gratitude for the cure from an illness, and writes, when I began to write this book, I had the intention to complete this tractate before I had to travel to Guddaasburn on October 16, 1903, due to a legal dispute. I suffered a severe kidney colic. Therefore, I feared that I would not be able to complete this task within the remaining two or three days. And had I continued to suffer from this kidney colic, which could have ended in death, it would not have been possible for me to complete this written work. Then God directed my attention to prayer. Then, God, Allah, led me to Dua. I told my family at about 3 a.m. that I would pray, and that they should say Amen after my prayer. He gathered all family members. In this painful state, I remembered Saifzabdabdulatif and prayed to God, pleading with Him that I harbor the wish to complete this book in memory of the deceased. I was overtaken by a light slumber and received complete healing. Salamun Qa'ulum Mirabir Rahim, which means, Peace is the word of the Merciful Lord. This is the proof that I, in that Being in whose hand my life lies, it was not even early morning when I was completely healthy, and I managed to write more than half of the book on the same day. Alhamdulillah. Another aspect of the life of the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, is that he always expressed gratitude and said Shukr for every small thing. Thus, Maulvi Abdul-Kleinzer reports about every week at the time when he narrates this. The most astonishing and interesting of the events that occurred and which gave our faith enormous strength was the receipt of a letter addressed to his Holiness. It contained, with compelling evidence and in detail, that in Jalalabad, the region of Kabul, the grave of the Prophet Yus Asaf is located. It was widely known there that this prophet had also come to Syria and to that place 2000 years ago, and that the government of Kabul had also allocated a piece of land to that grave. This is not the place for further details, Maulvi Sahib writes. He was extremely pleased with this letter. Allah is witness and the All-Knowing. To this joy, the Promised Messiah said, Allah is witness and All-Knowing, that even if someone gave me millions would bring in rupees, I would never be happy about it, as this letter has brought me joy. Maulvi Bduqrim Sahib says, oh my brothers, the joy over such a religious matter is not a sign that he was sent by Allah. Who nowadays feels such joy at the elevation of the Word of Allah? I swear by Allah. When I knew the joy, I saw the Messiah at that time, I was extremely grieved in my heart. Even if I feel joy today and the community also expects with every joy that we have another argument against the enemy and that we have that sheet of paper, like the journey of the Noblest Messiah was. But there was nothing that could affect the joy of the Noblest Messiah. When the Noblest Messiah wrote the book Bduqrim Ahmadiyya, he included those people who financially supported him in the book, thanked them, and prayed for them. It also contains the names of those people who perhaps only had 5 or 2 rupees, or even only 4 rupees. What great fortune and what great gratitude towards Allah, who, through His grace and His love, gave me the possibility to write this book, and then, through the publication of this book and its dissemination, Allah the Almighty provided me with honorable friends and brothers who supported me there. Believers and friends and those who love Allah. Thus, I would like to thank all of them, and it is my duty to those who have supported me in this honorable manner to fulfill my religious goals and who have protected me from my goals coming to nothing or my effort coming to nothing. I do not even have the words with which I can thank them. Above all, when I see that some have done great things in the support and some have also promised further support for the support. Thus, I feel even greater gratitude and connection. Furthermore, he also wrote down the names of those supporters who helped, and he said, the Lord S. S. S. says, I add under this declaration the worthy names of all those who have contributed to the acquisition and publication of the work. He noted all names and continued, I will continue this until the publication of the book. That is, he would write down these names so that as long as the world is able to draw from this book, as long as people are able to draw from this book, these names will remain recorded, for he said, let every person who spends a fruitful time with this book remember me and my helpers in their prayers. Let everyone who benefits from it pray for him and the supporters. The Noblest Messiah, Salah S. S., said that whenever one draws benefit from it, one should pray for me and my helpers. The Noblest Messiah wrote a book titled Minharur Rahman, which proves to me that the Arabic language is umul al-Sina, that is, the mother of all languages. In each, he thanks the friends who helped him with some references in the challenge and explains, we cannot thank the friends here. At this point, I would like to thank every friend who helped me in the work of determining the common origin of the language. I would like to explain with joy that these sincere friends of ours have shown enthusiasm in the task of determining the common origin of the languages, which will certainly remain until the end. These men of God have heroically dedicated their time to us. And they have performed this great work day and night full of ardor and zeal. I am aware that they will receive a great reward from Allah. For they are involved in such a battle, in which very close to the Victory, that Islam is connected. Each of them will thus be permitted to enjoy divine support and favor. I cannot describe in words how they were always present at every Jelza, supporting me, and how they would return, filled with pride and success, handing over every word and every source as a gift. Thus, all languages gathered together with me. I will never forget how our sincere helpers supported us here, and I do not have the words to express how I can thank them. And I pray that Allah the Almighty will accept their effort and zeal and preserve them from any misfortune. Amin, zuma, amin. Then, the Feistamistier has now also written down all the names of those who have provided support. He says that first he noted Molvi nun Dienst, then Molvi Abdul Kareemstab, and likewise many other companions. He writes that he no longer wishes to assign their work to others. God knows best who among them has invested a greater measure of effort in this task. He will not squander the work of any of them. As far as I know and have observed here, Brother Akim Molvi nun Dienstab and Brother Molvi Abdul Kareemstab have invested the most effort. They have been with me for months and have freed themselves from all other occupations. And Molvi nun Dienstab has, not only in this task, but also procured valuable English books at his own expense and is amassing a treasure of innumerable books for precisely this purpose. That is, may Allah grant him a greater reward, and God does not waste the reward of those who do good. Upon the mention of Miram Mansur Muhammad Sahib, who, out of gratitude for the Creator’s favor, suffered feitsmissils, I am obliged to mention the following. I would like you to listen to my words. It is very important that my most important work, with the compositions of books, with the God, through His grace, has granted me an excellent and esteemed, faithful, dangerous gift, namely the beloved Miram and Sodom Muhammad, who possesses an external script. He works not only for worldly treasures, but solely out of love for the religion. He has left his homeland and settled here in Qadir. It is an enormous grace of God that such a sincere and enthusiastic person, who exactly matches my expectations, is available to me, so that I can claim his service at any time, whether day or night, and he performs this service with absolute dedication, seeking to please Allah. This is the reason why, in this time of Spiritual War, through my writings, the Defiende are defeated, and ceaseless volleys are fired at the opponents. In truth, the provision of such supporting means is also a sign of God. From whichever side it was requested, all good means have been made accessible to me, and in writing I was granted such power, as if I were writing, but angels. If I visibly issued through my hand, I did not let any opportunity go unused to thank his companions and also those who rendered him service in any way. Despite all his own efforts, the Feistim Sih praised his companions and highlighted that they had helped him, thereby making this work easier for him. When Schelia Kubali Irfanis reported that he always appreciates every, even the smallest, task of the servants and encouraged them, rewarding them beyond their actual effort on every day when a book or a magazine had to be printed and published quickly and urgently, and work was done at night, he provided milk and other provisions with particular attention for the printing press employees who performed this work with Tazut, and they feel great gratitude. He said, I have seen that they were published in the time for the servants and the servants and the matter, and they achieved regarding the servants and the matter. He achieved regarding the servant and the matter. He achieved regarding the servant and the matter. He achieved them regarding the servant and the matter. He achieved regarding the servant in the mou den vocal May Allah reward them with the best, and although he himself stayed awake all night, he says, I often fell asleep while I saw them working, and he says, I often fall asleep while I saw him at work, and whenever I woke up, I saw him working until morning broke, although the work of the other people was by Allah's choice, the Holy Messiah is nevertheless their efforts. Why? Because in the heart of Froh Feeten a deep feeling for proven benevolence prevails. About another event, Haslamisabisch Edamit reported. Das Haf is still like Borsch, residing in Versula, told him. Once, the Holy Messiah went into his garden for a walk. A stick of willow wood was in his blessed hand. He threw the stick towards a tree bearing fruits. And yet the stick remained hanging in the tree. But the stick got caught there; it got caught in a way that it could not come down. The companions tried one after another to bring the stick down, but without success. As Borsch reported, I said, I will climb the tree and bring it down. I immediately climbed up and brought the blessed stick back down. The Holy Messiah was so pleased and astonished that he always said to me with loving words, Mir Nebbi Borsch, you have accomplished something amazing by climbing the tree and immediately bringing the stick down. How did you climb the tree? How did you learn
